in my humble opinion, she is the absolute winner of the competition until the final stage. and also the 2nd movement of the concerto was out of this world. but in the first and specially in the last movement of the concerto, she was not "in touch" with the orchestra, playing her own story, sometimes "aganist" the conductor. i also love this kind of "fight" but not the jury i can imagine. Anyway Aimi you're the one who figure out Chopin's music in a totally personal adn different way. I love it. Thank you and take care of your gift. Paolo from Italy

This performance of the preludes is going to set the benchmark for generations to come.
There are elements of sadness, darkness and melancholy that connect each piece like they really are a single giant unit. She is a beast in a way she brings her inner reflection into the story of the very pieces.. She said the preludes have many “characters” to show, and she really proved it. All the characters she delivered are the truth itself.

MAGNIFICENT, TRANSCENDENTAL-almost SPIRITUAL-playing! Aimi’s the epitome of GRACE, BEAUTY and SERENITY combined. Never too harsh or aggressive for the sake of showmanship, unless required by the music itself. She serves the music, and not vice versa.
The range and complexity of characters she brought out in the Preludes are astounding. From the paining sorrow and sense of inevitability of No. 4 16:10, the warm gentleness and childhood nostalgia of No. 7 21:23, the heavenly forgiveness and sense of possibility of No. 13 28:51, the natural beauty and loving embrace of No. 15 33:20, the burning anguish and lost glory of No. 20 47:21, the flowing fury of no. 22 51:17, to the conflicting chains of thoughts and unsettling truth of No. 24 53:04.

Aimi is by far one of the most talented and emotional pianists I’ve ever heard. I will be surprised if she doesn’t win. And the slightly hushed tone in the opening of Prelude No. 5 is absolutely exquisite, and the No. 6 inner voicing is so rich, it kind of sounds like bells. The last one is so powerful, but somehow kind of delicate that seems to be sprinkled in, and the tone, like with all these pieces, is absolutely outstanding and full of depth. The passage at 54:08 is so rich and deep.

She plays with authority, command, perfect interpretations that make you feel the direct presence of Chopin in all his passion, sadness, joy, that sense of longing for the Poland in his dreams.
