  • Its not often I’m shocked by a product but this ebike really did catch me out, i wasn’t expecting the quality of the build to be this good, which in turn made the ride very comfortable and let’s not forget they’ve really designed a cool retro looking bike that has some great features.
For the price this is going to be hard to beat.

As I get older I like the idea of a comfy and more sedate Dutch sit-up style eBike (with step through) - to carry my shopping on rear panniers via our local cycle paths. So this bike appears to have a lot of great features (including sturdy rear rack & chain guard) for such a low (relative) price.
However your comments about the foot clearance would be my main concern, as I have size 13 feet...
Anyway thanks for another good review👍 And do please keep them coming, as by the time you review the 'ideal' bike for me I may have saved up enough money to buy it...😂

A very good review John. Great value- it’s got a lot of the things I’d be looking for, e.g. lights front and back with a break light + good brakes. The Amsterdam design doesn’t suit my preferences, but that’s just me. Just a pity the UK restricts e-bikes to 350 watts. I had a 1000 watt motor in China - that’s what you really need.

      @heriotpayne 3 месяца назад +2

E bikes in uk are restricted to 250watt constant output and a max assisted speed of 15.5 mph this is under review at the moment . also the thumb speed control is a grey area . So with the info on the video the cycle should only be used off road . If you have any info that would disprove this i would be most interested . good review though

@@heriotpayne Thanks for the correction, I think you get my point = not enough power. And the fact you're not really allowed to use a throttle, thumb drive (alone - if I'm right there - grey area at least) is crappy. But with 250 watts of power, good luck with that anyway. Rule Britannia = too many 'rules' IMO. Might as well walk.

Hi John, I thought the maximum legal power output for an electric bicycle was a 250w motor regulated to 15mph, and I have to say the bike reminded me of my grandfather's bike from the 50s.😃😃

That's an interesting bike, and a brilliant price too. The castor angle looks odd, but Mandy seemed to be whipping along OK, so it's got to be OK. I like the seat post, not cheap normally and much better than rear full suspension for everyday use. Definitely styled on the Dutch bike design, but looks a lighter build. A great review John, cheers. 👋🇬🇧🇺🇦🇪🇺

If it had an engine & pedals rather than a motor & pedals what would it be?

Cheap as chips for doing the weekly shop and nothing too demanding, a friend had one very similar, points to note are that the forks develop a lot of play in no time at all and he was round literally every day wanting the brakes adjusted, it's hilly here. Luckily for me he bought a Trek at around £3K soon after and he's no longer round every day wanting me to fiddle with.
You and Mandy need to give riding on the balls of your feet a go, it is far more efficent and you should soon get used to it.

I noticed the rear cassette gears are Shunfeng (@1:59) - not Shimano - which is a bit cheeky - seems to be a trick used by cheap bike manufacturers at the moment. We've just had to replace the rear wheel and Cassette on my friends sons bike as the wheel bearings and gears collapsed - the info said Shimano, but were the same as that one, Shimano shifter on the handlebars and derailier, but the actual cassette was Shunfeng and absolute rubbish, as were the bearings. Something to look out for.

at that price replacing the cassette with a Shimano and the bearings (might just need greasing) straight off it would be good buy.

hello from Toronto - I ALMOST bought one of these - great features for the price...BUT..the issue of the toe of your shoes contacting the front fenders is a serious safety issue. I have even sent Isinwheel (the company responsible for sales here in Canada) a long note with my concerns - including a mocked up diagram showing how they could rectify the situation. All they would have to do is either weld the front post back a bit (pushing the front wheel away from the pedals) or just increase the wheelbase of the bike by extending the whole frame forward a few inches. Not hard for the manufacturer to do...perhaps this could be a U2 series II???
As noted, I saw myself in a ditch in my mind's eye, after taking one for a test ride (a neighbour's bike)...and making a turn whilst pedaling. It WAS scary, and I can't imagine what the manufacturer was thinking to produce an otherwise wonderful cruiser for a great price - with such a safety defect? I ended up buying a 'Likebike Lander S' for a few hundred more quid (well, Canadian Dollars!!) Quid pro quo - sort of...
    Cheers from Canada

Like the look of this bike, you’re right it does look more European to me as well. Great price, where do you store all these? Would struggle getting that in garage? 😊

Has anyone had dealings with iscooter? Just wondering how good their guarantees are if any problems arise? Im nervous buying over internet with no shop to go back to.

Hi John, this is the sort of bike I'm interested in buy when I move to the UK/Europe. However, I plan to hang the bike on the rear of the motorhome. Can you check out bikes and or covers that would protect the bike if I were to always store the battery in the garage? Just concerned that weather might damage the electrical connections. Hello to Mandy too. Kind regards, Stuart

Since I store my bike in my garage, and therefore not outside, I have no need to buy a bike cover.

John please, Genuine question, I’ve no doubt you wont believe me on this did the company ask you not to mention that it’s not road legal due to the over powered motor? Watched a video from Ashley neal and he went through the law and it was a very informative video.

Anyone who talk about legalities of e-bikes needs to go chat with a police office and ask what they’d do if they saw you riding it.
This topic is really a moot point and one I’ve covered many times.

It seems like a good bike that has been let down by the design issue with the angle of the front forks. They seem too far back. Sooner or later your feet will hit the front wheel and you will come a cropper.
    It's a great price, but I wouldn't feel safe.
