Cory’s audience reacts to the music like a new Smash Bros character is being revealed or something. Incredible. And oh my god that Steely Dan sounding guitar solo really hit
@@levondarratt787 I agree. I just attended my 3rd consecutive Snarky Puppy concert in my city about a month ago and it was completely sold out with everyone going nuts during the solos and just in general . Fusion is very much alive and doing well these days! I also have tickets for Cory again this coming February. It will be my 4th time seeing him and I can't wait!
Every musician with in-ear monitor, Cory and every horn with wireless mic kit and tablets, amazing mixdown, insanely tight performance. Those guys are on fire!!! Absolutely professional
Funny thing is I was in the balcony for this show and it sounded AWFUL. The snare drum drowned out the entire band and the horns sounded awful. Shame really.
Yes, universally - music is an expression of feelin. Too much attention to detail / technique can detract from the "feel". This detraction / distraction began with the invention of annotated sheet music.
That keyboard player (I'm sorry I don't know your name!) is so freakin good... Holding the whole thing together with his tasty organ chords! UNDERAPPRECIATED!
I’m in love with this extended version! Smokeshow is my favorite song from Cory and the way they added a solo moment for the sax, guitar and piano was absolutely incredible!!
We we standing near the FOH mix console and noticed that the guy mixing never took off his headphones. Might be why he didn’t notice the low end drone washing out the sound. Great first set with Sierra Hull but they lost me in the second set when they eschewed the funk and featured a tired vocalist.
I’ll remember a lot from this show. 1) Eddie was on a heater this entire show, and from the audience it sounded like the band was cheering him on. Really cool to hear it here. 2) Lampley/Negah bringing the “weekend band energy”, opening with Assassin had everyone onstage leaning forward on every beat. 3) Antwaun. What else is there to say, the man cannot disappoint. 4) Petar was beyond gracious chatting before the show, and I couldn’t be happier for all y’all’s success.
i was working this show as a bartender, my boss put me up in the front at the beer tub so i could get a good view, im off to the left of the camera at the start. I got to meet Cory and shook his hand, it was such a good show. OMG I CAN SEE MYSELF RECORDING
CW showing he can be the guitar hero single-note soloing with the best of them with tone and effects second to none, plus taste and class that is rarely found with these other components.
I love pretty much anything Cory does, but one of the reasons I particularly like the live shows is that, generally, you can hear Nêgah whereas she tends to be really low in the mix on the Cory and the Wongnotes studio sessions.
My son and I were there as well! Brilliant performance. Cory......Please release the entire concert from Chicago. The entire band was there...Once in a lifetime event!
2:05 I've been playing drums for 13 years but theres nothing more satisfying than what Petar is playing here. It's so simple yet powerfully affective. Thats the most beautiful china cymbal I've ever heard
Just grabbed my tickets to the show at the Pageant in STL! I missed out last time they came through, and it was one of the biggest regrets of this year.
A bunch of musicians with great individual talent, who simply love being in a band. It always sounds killer when you’re having fun and the audience is in on it.😎 PS-Loved the old-school synth solo. Nothing like a player who tweaks waveforms on the fly for maximum groove. Outstanding!!
Drums are phat. Amazing solo by Cory as well - hearing some Walter Becker influence into a bit of John Frusciante feedback/delay thing, all still uniquely Wong.
DANGER ! Listen at your own risk ! You won't be able to get it out of your head 🤯🤠 One of those very rare tunes that stay with you forever. Brilliant melody Alain from Belgium, a big fan
Wow, you cats are layin' down some cool grooves. Great talents in this band. Your sound is so reminiscent of the 70's. The horns 🎷🎺have been sorely missing from music. Thanks for bringing that sound back.
I think that Sonny T is pretty well stoked at getting to help hold down the bottom end of such a fine rhythm section…hell, such a smokin’ band PERIOD!! So much good stuff, you’ve got to watch it a bunch of times.😎😛
Thanks for uploading this. Great audio and visual capture, too. I'm only a couple minutes in, but I love the jam. My internet is slow, so I'm writing while it buffers at good quality, because I just have to, with such a good live recording. Should be ready by now...
talk about it, eddie !!
Cory’s audience reacts to the music like a new Smash Bros character is being revealed or something. Incredible. And oh my god that Steely Dan sounding guitar solo really hit
Crazy that in 2022 there's still a market for jazz fusion z which is what this is. Great.

Their live sound could go direct to record every time. Breath sounds and key click from the sax? That’s good audio.
Funny thing is I was in the balcony for this show and it sounded AWFUL. The snare drum drowned out the entire band and the horns sounded awful. Shame really.
Who knew you could spit fire through a sax ? Thank you Eddie for letting the new generation know that tone is more important than technique
Okay but he's got technique to spare too. He's just so good at saxophone!
Is tone not a technique?
Yes, universally - music is an expression of feelin. Too much attention to detail / technique can detract from the "feel". This detraction / distraction began with the invention of annotated sheet music.
honestly being able to play that smoothly that low so consistently is an under-appreciated ability
Cory just took some of the best musicians in this century, put them on a stage and lets them all just have fun and bring joy
More concerts should be filmed like this. One of the reasons I love the MSG video so much.
That keyboard player (I'm sorry I don't know your name!) is so freakin good... Holding the whole thing together with his tasty organ chords! UNDERAPPRECIATED!
read the description
I managed to pause on the one frame of the wide shot at 5:57 and now I can go to bed.
This is the best I've ever heard bass live-mixed.
And the breakdown just before the KG solo is Petar and Sonny at their filthiest, followed by the usual KG brillance.
I’m in love with this extended version! Smokeshow is my favorite song from Cory and the way they added a solo moment for the sax, guitar and piano was absolutely incredible!!
Best instrumental funk I've heard ever. Shades of Steely Dan, Weather Report and Caldera. Heaven!
I was at this show! The whole band absolutely killed it. Everything sounded incredibly tight 👌
Hi, which date and venue was it? Thx
Me too, magical show
If this is the one at The Vic - fun show, but goodness the mix was awful
I'm watching it on RUclips

Please do a Canadian tour. It's brutal being so close yet so far

Eddie's sound is amazing. Thank you for such magical music.

The world needs more and more REAL Music like this ( jazz disco funk soul AOR)
Take that, to anyone who thought Cory's playing was one dimensional! Nice live arrangement of that song as well!
yes, focusing on the keyboardist during the bass solo and on the bass during the keys solo
That sax singed all the hairs on my arms..thanks doctor Eddie.
CW showing he can be the guitar hero single-note soloing with the best of them with tone and effects second to none, plus taste and class that is rarely found with these other components.
Pure vibes as they say
I'm able to listen to this work and watch the video almost daily, sometimes a few times daily, without getting tired. It's really fantastic!!!
Cory Wong shows are absolutely the best!!
Shout out to Woody Goss, Cory Wong and Eddie Buzzsaw for Blessing us with this Funky Construction Destruction Machine Masterpiece
Sam looking into the camera at 1:55 killed me!
OH MY GOD THE SNARE SOUND
I love pretty much anything Cory does, but one of the reasons I particularly like the live shows is that, generally, you can hear Nêgah whereas she tends to be really low in the mix on the Cory and the Wongnotes studio sessions.

I got to meet Cory and see this incredible band perform at the Newport Jazz Festival last Saturday. I always love the live footage you put out!
Brass is GOLD!!
I have Petar’s drum stick from this show mounted above my desk
7:05 that fill though…

How good is that sax, Cory playing a solo line...

great sound, camera lost during Sonnys solo but damnit Cory your band is TIGHT! See you in November, again, Yes!
Absolutely filthy! Thank you
See you in November in Portland cory ❤️❤️❤️
I'd be dancing every night too if I had Sonny T's bass amp right behind me
Nêgah Santos holding it down as usual!
Drums are phat. Amazing solo by Cory as well - hearing some Walter Becker influence into a bit of John Frusciante feedback/delay thing, all still uniquely Wong.
You guys are changing the game 🔥
Smokeshow “smokes!”
Where there is smoke, there is 🔥! 😉
rick beato should have featured this tune on his video about songs with 2 chords.
Man I wish I could go to a concert
Can't wait to see you in February, your shows are insane
Sounds like some kind of Zappa stuff ! Good job boys !
Yeah it does. But soul instead of classical.
Damn thay sounds gooder than all get out. Aloha
It's amazing how much you release, thanks man
Dang….6:45 dang wow
Givin’ Kevin some love!
The alto player has great tone.
Could be best band of the 21st so far.
What a gem! Thank you.
DANGER ! Listen at your own risk !
You won't be able to get it out of your head 🤯🤠
One of those very rare tunes that stay with you forever. Brilliant melody
Alain from Belgium, a big fan
What a performance from the whole band ! Really great song and great live version. Love the solos and the Sonny/Petar break too.
Wow, you cats are layin' down some cool grooves. Great talents in this band. Your sound is so reminiscent of the 70's. The horns 🎷🎺have been sorely missing from music. Thanks for bringing that sound back.
I wanted the ending vamp to go on for another 5 minutes.
So nice to hear wirelessly miked saxes sounding full on a live mix! Good joerb, whomever makes this happen!
Nice coach reference (joerb)

GET IT CORY!! So glad to see you blowing more and slaying it
YYYYYEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS
Man, I just love this song. Can't wait to see y'all in November!!!
They are all great (as always).
Tell me you still freak out at least once a show that Sonny T is behind you
can confirm
I think that Sonny T is pretty well stoked at getting to help hold down the bottom end of such a fine rhythm section…hell, such a smokin’ band PERIOD!! So much good stuff, you’ve got to watch it a bunch of times.😎😛
Sonny is a legend
I love this band. Big ups.
Shades of Elliott Randall! Nicely referenced, if that is in fact what Cory is doing...
the g in kevin g is for genius
This is how all live music should be! So much talent and JOY on stage and the audience loving it 💖 Also Cory's solo 🤯🔥
can't stop to listen !
Great musicians, great song, guys!!

Except for it's a little snare-forward in spots, but whatever man
Oh and that solo tone is tops I clapped but I had headphones so it looked a little weird. That "guitar synth LFO" trick was wha?...
And then he went and did it on the Nord🤣
Che spettacolo, questa è musica. 🤟
Any more Brooklyn Bop coming soon? 😁
Me too!! Brooklyn Bop is my favourite "recent" Cory song
Cory, please visit Germany in 2023 😍
0:59 rare demonstration of how Cory Wong walks up to steal yo girl.
Petar is powered by an atomic clock, there's no other explanation
Baaaaaaarrbaaaaassh!
Dear Cory, please come to Prague, I love your music ♥️
Get Plini on your channel/guest solo on a song.
Are those steely dan licks?!
Lampley cam!
Hey Cory, can you tell those RUclips ***holes they're not allowed to show pop up adds while watching your upload? Sounds awesome btw :-)
hey Cory, when are you coming to Brazil?
