I after I saw him on the west coast for the first time I was seriously considering buying plane tickets just to see them again with victor wooten. Money didnt work out for that lol but Victor Wooten and the Wooten bros are touring my area soonish so it all works out
Sierra Hull brought me here. She never disappoints, and this group including amazing Cory Wong and his band with the iconic Victor Wooten is fantastic!!! Go see any of them together or apart!!!
This show was absolutely insane! It was my third time seeing Victor Wooten after Indy Jazz Fest and Bass Extremes, and my first time seeing Cory Wong & his band with the rest of these amazing musicians as well!
It's a little bittersweet for me to watch Victor these days. He influenced my playing a lot and I got to see him at his absolute peak probably a dozen times. You can tell the focal dystonia is making things hard for him now. But this song is no cakewalk even with fully functioning hands and he still burned the place down. Goddamn legend.
Man the guy owes music nothing, and music owes him so much. I hope that if his hands get to the point where playing isn't fun, he can make a happy transition to a kind of musical elder statesman. Lord knows he's earned it.
