But if you're a weeb there's never any criticism allowed whatsoever with Japanese voices. The Japanese voice is the most perfect thing conceivable by the human brain to weebs.
It's not, everybody has their preferences. I think Spongebob is a case though where the original voices and vocal delivery are so iconic that it feels like you're losing part of the joke when dubbed (especially with plankton, I think kaguya-sama or JoJo might be a good parallel). I think in this scene, the japanese dub is funny as it logically builds on the joke, and the English version is funny as its completely random and unexpected and the way the voice actor delivered it was hilarious 😂
