The Midwest used to get a lot of 100F weather and it wasn’t just the dustbowl. Columbus OH: 1931-1955 - 31 days of 100F. 1956- 1980 - Zero days of 100F. KC,Pittsburgh,Cincinnati and Columbus OH have combined for 3 summer record highs over the last 10 summers. Miami, Seattle, Boise, El Paso on average hit 30 or so records EACH during that time. After the coal plants started going into service around 1950, summer days in much of the Eastern US became considerably less hot. Aerosol masking from sulfates is a big deal. India shows a striking lack of warming especially for the month of May, their hottest, driest month. India’s been building tons of coal plants and has high SO2 levels like the eastern US. South America? Low SO2 levels and it is really starting to heat up down there the last few years. Ditto for most of Europe, especially southern Europe.

I live in Manitoba Canada, near the border in Winnipeg. Do `you see an increase in the risk for some storm complexes over my neck of the woods in North America?? Im just curious if this is a possibility as you mentioned areas north of the ridge but would that be areas south of the border only or my area as well. Please get back to me thanks.

Eric, do not see nor you have mentioned anything about a subtropical Jetstream. Is this part of the jet normal gone this time of year?🤔

it is not usually a strong feature in summer. Especially when there isn't a strong, moving convection signal in the tropics. I mostly focus on the sub-tropical jet stream in the colder months (Fall,Winter,Spring)

@Nutrien_AgSolutions thank you Eric. Was funny last night in Woodford County, I had almost as much rain as I got out of the hurricane day before.🫠
