I love the look of the challengers. Looks like pure muscle and they some in manual! I can't wait to get mine.
Did you get it?
@@davide.1466 he did not
did you ever get it
It’s been 10 yrs man you get it?
One Word: "Transmission" these car are actually much closer than they appear, damn near identical if they had the same transmission.
Pretty sure both cars have a 392 HEMI V8 Engine in em no?
I love four door saloons with strong V8s- German, American whatever.
I love the Charger! I'm thinking of getting one.
9 years later... Did you ever get one?
Why do they always compare one year to a different year instead of comparing the same year?
BladeEdge1221 simple... Even tho I’m like 5 years late, lol Dodge did not make a 2k11 sr8 model for the charger. Only made one for the challenger.
There was no 2011 Charger SRT8 392
There was no 2011 Charger SRT8 392
There was no 2011 Charger SRT8 392
There was no 2011 Charger SRT8 392
this is a great video. no boring old man talking about crap that doesnt matter. just stats and video footage. Thanks edmunds
@demariojason - you are right, it does look like it in this video but the final version has the crosshair grill like the rest of the Dodge lineup.
Charger
Soo... Apparently I just watched a comparison of the same car in a 2-door version and a 4-door version.
My Buddy just bought a 2013 Chllanger,He went with the V6 Superchared One! The Car Is Sick? a 3.5 with a 491 Magnum SC,He just Had the 1rst Break in Service Done! They Turn up the Boost,Dodge Dyno Tuned The Car,and it made 625whp!! It Flat out Flies! Last nite he smoked a GT500,Id recommend it!!
Now that's how cars should be reviewed!!! No Music just Engine and Tire noise!!! Beautiful!!
am i the only one that likes the older model 2006 - 2010 charger models ?
@jay mindyah nah I think the 06 - 2010 models look better
no I agree with you the older chargers looks more buffer
AddoD23 They are nice but I like the LED tail lights in the new one. I hate the 2015 though.
TheZombaslaya Man they killed me with the 15 charger, the challenger is cool but the new charger looks like a dodge dart and a mitsubishi lancer had a child...NO BUENO
Drex Addo They did. Where did that aggressive extended front end go? I think they just took a 14 and got a sledgehammer, then went to town on the grill. Then added Mercedes daytime running lights that look hideous and removed the cool slanted headlights. Non mi piace il 2015 dodge charger.
Challenger
Doeu meu ouvido quando cantou no inicio, eu tava com fone no volume máximo.
Good video.
Do InsideLine and motortrend use the same dragstrip?
think it is almost the same car but the Challenger has about 60kg--130lbs less.
but the challenger is less aerodynamic than the 2015+ chargers
Bring back the old CHASIS from 1968!!!The new Charger is not nearly the same like in the late 60's!!!
Giotiner why would they bring that ancient chassis back
LOVE THE SOUND OF THE ENGINE!
I like them both but the challenger is faster 💨💨💨 all gas ⛽️ no brakes 💯
Charger is the best!!!
Challenger is faster than the Charger?!
Yep Challenger is SOO much better.
gamingBdmac jack i bought a 2013 challenger rt. love it.. charger looks ugly to me.
cichmugs I think they both look great. I hoped Dodge would create a Dodge Charger coupe.
I agree they both have a very unique cool feel. I though prefer Challanger for my tastes
cichmugs charger isn't ugly ur blind ;)
You Sir, are a rare breed! Wish more people were like this.
What exactly is rollout? Do u roll into it?
Why bother testing them? Underneath they're exactly the same cars. The only difference is that the Charger looks better.
Nick DiNunzio Hell no. Challenger looks better.
I agree the charger looks better
Lmao your 12
***** Nothing Mann jus kids now a day pay attention to video games and TV... Good to see your interested in cars.
+James grant Agreed. I remember when I first plearned what a 2jz was.
I saw a Metallic green challenger with black stripes cruising Gatlinburg, TN last year that I feel in love with. But till I have kids I'll stick with my 2 seater :). The car I have now has ruined my perception of what fast is for future test drives of stock form vehicles :) But they are very impressive.
What is better? High or low skidpad numbers?
I’ve got a 2013 dodge Daytona charger #744 . I have to say I’m impressed with it. I’ve had Corvettes Trans Ams mustangs saleens. I really enjoy driving this car. I always get people asking me about it
@hwright85 they already have a 2 door car, and they need a full size sedan in the line up. personally i think it's a great idea putting it as a 4 door. you get the best of both worlds: Extreme muscle and practicality.
I love the aggressive styling of the new charger
@TheHoloman24 6spd and 4spd is referring to the number of gears. In his reference he is talking about a 6spd standard transmission. in the past standard transmissions would have just about any number of gears, but in recent years it's more common to have either a 4spd automatic or 5 spd standard transmission, with 6spd transmissions available for most sports cars.
@TKJWVU it can definitely be an option I mean I wasn't happy when they brought the name back with that car anyways lol, is the chrysler 300 srt8 awd? I wasn't a fan of the car so I never looked into it but I know 1 of it's other versions is awd like the 300 hemi c or something?
Remarkably similar performance, and I'm glad to see that. The Challenger is an amazing vehicle but as a coupe it's not exactly convenient for a family man. The Charger seems to essentially be a 4-door Challenger at this point and that's a very good thing! Keeping that same performance with 4 doors is excellent.
I'll be buying either a Challenger or Charger R/T here when the '13 Chargers are available. Want that 8-speed in an R/T!
I want the challenger so bad but srt8 model are expansive . The challenger rt 2013 and charger super bee 2012 have same price . So which one is better challenger rt or charger super bee ? As i said before i have now charger rt and i want to upgrade .
jay mindyah thank you i thought I was the only one that loved the older model dodge charger 2006 - 2010 they look more aggressive they look tough o love the new ones too Don't get me wrong but their making them smaller and smaller they don't look as tough as the older models used to look and as far as the 2015 dodge charger man I'm still not feeling it yet maybe and I'm hoping it'll grow on me but nothing about it screams muscle. I will forever and always love the older model that is the reason as to why I fell in love with dodge chargers in the first place.
More aggressive WTf that wasn't a charger
If it wasn't a charger than tell me wtf it was please we must not be looking at the same video it's clearly a Dodge Challenger VS. Dodge Charger
can anyone tell me how the slalom and skid pad work. ive been watching these videos for a year and still dont know how to read the results
@07350zhr i dont see any resemblence to the gtr or evo..?
I absolutely LOVE my 2008 Charger SR/T8, the only thing Id like to change would be to make it a coupe. But still, its the most badass sedan you'll ever see ;) dropped 5 lbs of boost in it and american thunder exhaust with no resos. LOVE IT ;)
@DarkPhantomZX how do you know the viper's faster than a veyron? I thought it was the opposite...:-?
@DcEvoIX don't think any srt-8, beside the jeep GC, are AWD. You can get the AWD with the 5.7hemi on the 300,magnum and charger.
@TKJWVU I might question it touching 180 mph stock awd it's like a 400whp evo it has half the cylinders but it revs higher with better gearing, so it can run 11's at that point but the mph is still gonna be under 180mph with stock cams, not really on a gtr or z06 level, nomatter what they can be fun, but I'm into old school muscle and import's that lap porsche's with little to no mods, so a awd muscle car is not my cup of tea there is other options for the money.
@rushil10200
According to R&T the ZF they use wasn't designed to handle the HP, so they used the old Mercedes based 5'er
I recently traded an '08 SRT8 for '13 SRT8. I wish I could have kept both. I don't like any of the chargers over 2014!
what website???
Thank you steve
@jkheslekrants The shifting issues are due to the Ford SKIP-SHIFT system designed to stop drivers from mis-shifting ( say your in 3rd gear on the interstate at 5,000 rpm the system wont allow you to down shift into 2nd cuz you would either hit hit the rev.limiter or Over-rev the motor, the same goes for shifting int a high gear at too low of a speed, say 4th at 1,200 rpm to 5th. The trans isn't the prob, it is a system set up to stop the driver from damaging their vehicle.
Hi everyone i have charger rt and i want to upgrade to srt8 super bee because there is a special offer on the super bee is it worth it ?
How much do they really cost? I keep searching and there are so many different prices
@88888888888anonymous can u please tell me the meaning of 6 speed or 4 speed.does it mean the gears?
Doea the challenger have paddle shifters too?
one of the best dodge video i've ever seen
I have drove both, and they drive like a dream! Would be interesting to see a 2 door charger though.
looks nice im sure with a few mods you can bring up to scale
Did the Charge have the AWD option or not?
@MaddGuss i agree man i mean i dont mind if they keep the 4 door but i think they should make a 2 door version also
@edgarc92 How far the tires travel before traction is re-gained.
Completely agree. I own an 05 mustang gt all motor. And I'm runing 12.50s @ 110mph in the 1/4 mile with all the basic bolt ons, intake, exhaust, pullies, tune. Anything that can trap 110 or better and run under mid to high 12s or better in the 1/4 mile WITH looks, is a sensation to drive, regardless of the brand. I have not driven an srt-8 but i know the feeling of that power. Its basically the perfect amount of horsepower for the street. THIS is coming from a ford guy who appreciates all cars
@INeverDie99 if you order online, there's an option to remove that front part
What a awesome engine sound!!
Mas que som lindooo!
I have the 2012 Charger RT Max with all wheel drive. All the tech gadgets and just below the SRT in power and handling. The Charger is amazing, especially since the restyling in 2011. I would have preferred the Challenger since I am a Barracuda fan (own a '66) but all wheel drive only an option on the Charger and I live in a winter climate. Regardless, the performance is the best I have had in a car.
Is it possible to get a 2012 charger as a coupe?
@jjchargerboy16 Why would you remove the R/T badge and replace it with an SRT8 badge if it isn't an SRT8?
what the meaning of rollout ? turning the TC off ?
@steitisch i agree but the back is more like a 240sx
whens the 8 speed coming out? hopefully soon
Both sound awsome !!
now if they can only lower the weight of the challenger. Anyone know if they ditched the iron block for an aluminum block?
I just want opinions from people on youtube.... does the charger or the challenger have a better shape/design of the car which one do u guys like the best..im think about buying one of these but idk which one looks better;; just want ur opinion.. thanks(:
@KGStud94 yea that too but the gtr and evo were like the first 2 cars that had the black boxed looking grills
Just got my 2011 srt8 challenger night ridered. =] looks so sweet!
Both cars are impressive. I love them both.
If I have to choose I could not decide. I love both!
@2010challengerRT im sure all you said is valid and true, but if the tremec's were so good...why did ford switch to the getreg for the faster, harsher newer mustangs, if the tremecs could already handle the harsh?
I liked the look of the 2009 charger better on the front, but the taillights of the current year look awesome.
One day these will be the most collectable of the muscle cars just like the big hemi charger of the 60s & early 70s is one of the most sought after now.
i like the gauge display on the charger.
4.4 0-60 in mine (Charger SRT) last night with 32 psi in the shitty Goodyear F1's. Dropped down to around 25psi it'll do even better according to other owners, and run mid 12's.
Would you rather go with subaru or dodge?
@x2Legit2Quit Really what year
exelent brother
I been to one dealer where i live that had both of these on their lot at the same time.
@MrLumpz no...next up is the dodge dart for 2013...but they basically made it into a compact car
@MakeLoveNoBabiez the rear lights are what makes the charger look good
@LivinInFuture
Maybe future versions will have more power?
@chargerfun34 you're wrong. The one foot rollout is only referring the "one foot" (it's actually about 11.5 inches) of tire that's actually touching the ground. The timer, in this case to 60mph, doesn't begin until the end of the tires leaves the pavement, thus giving the one foot rollout time about 3-4 mph cheat. So rollout 0-60 will always be a few tenths of a second quicker than regular 0-60. Again, this is only used at drag strips so your time doesn't start until you actually start moving f
I wonder if the tires on the cars had anything to do with these figures. Do they both have the same type of tires?
@8000RPMS True but I think for the charger they changed the transmission for this year. Correct me if im wrong.
Love the sound of that challenger.
@Xenophene01 If I'm not mistaken the 6.4L should actually have an aluminum block
is that 2013 evo?
are those both automatics?
You're right, they look great!
cant wait till zf transmission 8 speed but i wish they wld come out wit a manual
@DEATH1996MASE the challenger and the charger both have 6.4 liter hemis.
are all the cars manual. i have not seen one manual yet. i seen one modified to where he had 600 horses under the hood and thats about it. he customized the body all the way around.
@BL80488 You know... I am not sure if my husband is having problems with the trans in his Challenger or if its a clutch issue but I know he has hardly any passing power in 5th and 6th unless its above a certain RPM (the problem occurs when he hits the gas and the RPMs go up but there is hardly any acceleration- is that the trans or clutch? maybe both?). He is waiting for vacation time to get it to the stealership.
I'm a Mustang guy through and through, but I love these Dodge designs. I just wish they could cut the weight down. Regardless, both of these are sweet American cars. I prefer the Charger over the Challenger here, but with their base models I dig the Challenger.
i love that angry look on the charger
these cars are quicker and more nimble than i thought. im impressed for their size.
@CAHKRO Since he was referring to the robotic gearbox/transmission vs a manual or auto transmission, and since these cars have more or less the same HP (500 hp for a M5, stand it), and since the new M5 does have a V8 too, that's not dumb.
I love muscle cars, and I'll surely buy one instead of a M5, but open your eyes. Those cars need some afterwork if you want to get the best out of them, even without touching the engine.
