These days plastic bags are especially made to dissolve much quicker but throughout the process of years who knows how much damage it could make to the environment. Yes hedgehogs absolutely can and even rats or rodents can suffocate in plastic bags .

You should play this video or drop the plastic blocks of compacted trash in front of Guatemalan congress so that public sanitation be made available…
In a lot of these poorer countries they dont have the proper infrastructure to collect trash in smaller villages and such. So they use the river instead. Im not saying it's right but they don't have any other options besides burning it.

Try using a screen belt conveyor to remove the debris from the water to the truck. The water will drop out on the way up. This works well and removes lots of debris fast! Thank you for your important work! ❤️

What are the people of Guatamala, local municipalities and governments in Guatamala doing to improve this situation? The amount of trash they're putting into the waterways is crazy. I hope this raises awareness and inspires them to clean-up.
That a very good start, the hard part is to change the culture, the mentality of the people, recycle and proper ways to discard the thrash is the real answer to protect our environment,
When there is this volume of waste plastic I think it makes more sense to turn it into Fuel via Pyrolysis than to try and separate the many different plastics and recycle it. I mean we are not even recycling the plastic that doesn’t go into our rivers and Seas that goes into landfill etc. At least then vast volumes can be processed relatively easily and quickly into fuel, instead of using fossil fuel that is also v expensive, Ocean Clean Up could run its ships etc on fuel from the waste plastic.
Without knowing too much, but seeing how important the work you’re doing is, how does someone like me get involved and how can we donate. I would think that any kind of money donations towards this cause would be helpful!!
