Beautiful video. Thanks for sharing, Don. I have had a few surgeries in recent years on my hips and knees which has meant I have not been able to walk much. I am up to 20 minutes a day now. I discovered your channel and started to read books on trees, insects and fungi and these have changed my life. Having a cup of tea in my garden watching the trees move and all the insects and birds fly around is the most wonderful experience. I am so happy and I feel part of something bigger than what society leads us to believe. Thanks again.
My first exposure to eastern meditation concepts and ideals, etc. was from a catholic institution. I was raised protestant, but I was always amazed by the unacknowledged links between traditional catholic contemplative traditions and eastern contemplative traditions.
Love this video. I think people I know wonder why I’m so crazy about my tea. It’s not just the tea, it’s the tinkering with my tea. Now my wife’s in on it with me. It’s such a meditative process.
You're a poet, Don. I practice mindfulness and meditation, sort of from the school of Joseph Goldstein. I enjoy a good matcha, or a calming shou sometimes.
Beautiful video. I think we definitely forget to slow down and find inner peace and contentment in our fast paced world. I think I’ll go brew up some Sakura Sencha now.😌 🍵
Your Tea and your videos have been my therapy an meditation I'm so grateful to have found your channel. Helped me so much after saying goodbye to my Dog 🐕 My best friend.... Thank you Don an Celine
I love this video, especially second part when you talk about meditation aspects in tea. I often don't know how to articulate it to other people and you did it great. I have many teas I drink while working/studying etc. but when I try new tea I just drink tea and its amazing. I see beauty in it and some tea gets me emotional, when I look outside window, have tea in front of me and drink it, smells, tastes + overall view and whats in the present moment cause different emotions. Its also great when you can see how different tea affect your energy level. Lately I've been drinking more tea outside and its really nice experience. I even met some people this way, just sitting and drinking tea may be interested for some people ''what the fuck he is doing with those cups'' xD
Pulled up a video to have a tea session with this morning for my birthday. To my surprise, we're both brewing with the same tea pot! Wishing you the best Don. Thanks for your videos 🙏
Don's video seamlessly intertwines tea with meditation, elegantly bridging the realms of mindfulness and Buddha's teachings. Gratitude, Don, for this enlightening piece!
Thank you so very much!! I look forward to watching your other videos!! Tea is definitely calmer than coffee. I love meditation and chanting. I am inspired by your video to have a good cup of tea before my morning Sadhana! Thank you!!!
@meileaf I am so excited that you are doing this series, Don! I cannot wait for more. I have fallen off the wagon in recent years, but am making a concerted effort to begin meditation regularly again.
This resonates with me because I spend like 80% of my thinking being in multi-thought, distracted, darting from future/past/thought to another thought. Singular focused attention is hard for me to practice because I'm always switching back and forth between mindsets... I'll give meditation a try and see if it impacts my day-to-day focus, thanks the vid :)
Beautiful video. Will be so helpful to me to take inspiration in my tea workshop where I'll spear the love of this amazing leaf to others. Thank you so much, Don! So excited for more videos like this! 💚
Hey Don, i'm a fan and a long time customer. you're preaching to the choir here. But this video stirred up some thoughts. This is all some pretty foundational(and very important) material you're covering. But the use of the term HACKED kind of sent me scattershot. My initial thought was that it was used to please the algorithm. It just doesn't seem to vibe with everything I know about you and the subject matter at hand. It just sort of feels like Audi releasing a video hyping up a new car hack where your car goes faster if you put your foot on the acceleration pedal. They're not wrong.... but what? I'm not looking for a response to this comment. In fact, I think the YT comment section would be a sub-optimal environment for it. But if you had any thoughts on the subject, I think the way do shorts would be great. edit: I guess what I was trying to say was that the phrasing threw me off
Practicing gong fu brewing induces meditativeness. But to make meditativeness more unconditional and frequent during your day it's more direct to practice it without associating it to any activity. Don't forget to meditate at least every time you make tea!
Weed is good too… Follow all local laws according to its use please ;) Or come to colorful Colorado! Where it’s legal and we love meditation and yoga and stuff!
Don's definition of meditation is good (and nicely poetic) but for me the one part I don't agree with is blissful. For me Stillness is a better description. As blissful for me sounds similar to euphoric but I don't get a hedonistic pleasure from meditation in a way I'd get from sex or seeing a beautiful mountain scenery. For me when I finish meditating I don't feel happy but calmer and cleaned from the distractions of my mind.

That's a beautiful awareness and yes it is something that we can do easily miss with society's demands.
I am a Catholic and I agree with your point about meditation. To us, prayer is a form of meditation.

You are very welcome
Great video. I was listening during yoga.
Perfect!
I loved the quote at the end! Thanks for putting this together Don. Love your channel and your videos!

Glad you like them!

Great episode 😊
Awesome, thank you. This is exactly what I needed. I look forward to the rest of the series.
Great new series Guru Don! 👏👏👏
I could see a short series of 30 minute videos that add to a tea session making it into a meditative session as well
The old duanni is really beautiful such a contrasting colour compared to duanni connections ❤
Reality based meditation is to become aware of your awareness. It is about intensifying and strengthening your awareness of self and surroundings.
Exactly!
Thank you ❤
Wow!

Weed is good too…
Follow all local laws according to its use please ;)
