    Oh I would need 5 whiteboards haha. After 12yrs my build is coming to an end but I have not kept track of the cost to build a 4.3L twin turbo (2xGT2871r). It has all the fun bits... even a 110L drop tank 😃

    • @stavjetauto

      I hear you... I've got to get some more videos out shortly with the rest of the whiteboards haha!
      Sounds like a fun package with twins should be responsive keep us posted with how ot goes

    The costs are realistic for the 1/4 mile times for your V6 combo. Even me doing a L77 in my VF with DOD delete, cam springs etc, full exhaust and air intake with tune its still over 12K. And it will be still in the 11’s like your V6 so well done.

    • @stavjetauto

      People don't realise the cost as it adds up quickly. Cheers mate all the best for your combo sounds like a newt package to enjoy.

      It's amazing what an exhaust can do to a car.
      3inch system with bullet high flow cat, Rear resonator with straight through muffler.
      Please plumb your wastegate into your exhaust!!! and you will get my tick of approval regardless how it sounds haha!

    Is it true that the Buick V6 motors have a fragile bottom end when driven hard? Theyd be stronger than an Alloytec (not talking timing chain) right?
    Cheers for the breakdown!

    • @stavjetauto
      @stavjetauto  9 месяцев назад +1

      I think buicks are stronger than an ecotec in terms of bottom ends. I believe however its all in the tune.
      You can make anything last or die if it's not tuned right for the purpose being used.

      @demanrunner847 9 месяцев назад +1

      Generally people when they are doing a Turbo L36, always uses the L36 Block Bottom End Stock crank and can use forged Pistons, Conrods and Camshaft and pull some good numbers, alongside having a V8 Diff as they're a stronger diff

    keep it up mate I am going through the same setup would love to see how much mine comes to mine is also a budget build VS wagon i think i might come in a little cheaper than yours
    but not by much. Can you also tell us how much the car was also ? and what trans upgrades you had to the T700 i have stuck to the 4l60e, but I have just built it in the shed as I have all the tools would love to know how much they did to the trans Box

    • @stavjetauto
      @stavjetauto  Год назад +1

      Yeah unreal how quick everything adds up and it's different when buying things over time rather than up front. It doesn't hurt the wallet as bad..
      I paid $3k for car originally and the trans it had lots of mods from upgraded bands,sun shell, upgraded sprag, pump mods, corvette servo practically the burger with the lot apart from manual valve body as I wanted to keep overdrive.
      I think it was suggested as I killed 3rd gear twice I needed a wider band or some sort of machining was needed. But never did eventuate from there as thr powerglide was cheaper including the customer adapter plate.

    Could you possibly chuck a link up for the turbo kit and manifold mate? Cheers 🍻

    • @stavjetauto
      @stavjetauto  Год назад +1

      Hey mate those manifolds in that video are custom 1 off manifolds. I'm not too sure if stathi at independent motorsports would be keen on another set but give him a shot his located in Morwell Victoria and he would need your car.
      Also the price I quoted in my video was when I had them done over 10 years ago now just FYI.
      Speak to George at proflow fabrications in Melbourne who is a good mate of mine and does off the shelf pipes I know he can help you out.

    Im wanting to bump up hp a little so i can pass my neighbours 5l on take off.not worried about hi end.any ideas would be great.must b na. Cam, ls coils,tune, do you think a feul set up would help a na much,or is standard gear ok for a na

    • @stavjetauto
      @stavjetauto  Год назад +1

      This is an easy task, 3.9 diff gears or 4.11's should do the job.
      Add a 3000rpm converter and you will have a bullet out the whole.
      That is of course if you have the tires to hookup.
      Add a camshaft to that mix and you will have him down low and up high.
      Std coils are fine and stock fuel system is plenty enough to do the task

    Somewhere on RUclips there are guys from the states with nothing more than upgraded fuel systems running near 600-650 hp with turbo on stock engines(don't know how long they last),but they are a tough little engine if tuned right

    • @stavjetauto
      @stavjetauto  Год назад

      Yeah so the turbo buicks in the states are a little different to our Aussie landed buicks. But none the less with stock internals they have some potential thats for sure.

    • @stevennott6139
      @stevennott6139 Год назад +1

      @Stavjet Auto bottom end and heads are the same, ln3 is series 1 engine, l27is series 2 vn to vr,only manifolds and sumps and possibly some ancillaries, in australia there all called ln3,
      I've been doing a fair bit of research on them, if you haven't heard of them check out zzp performance, that's probably where I am going to get some parts from (looks like where mace gets some of their parts from like stroker kits and alloy heads etc).l67 are the same just different blower housing.
      Also found an old video of a purple commodore on RUclips with 900hp,I think that would have to be the highest hp ever on a v6,it's insane

    • @stavjetauto
      @stavjetauto  Год назад

      @steven nott yeah so ln3 is not big in the us. Turbo buicks are but they are different blocks all together so don't get confused with those factory turbo buicks.
      ZZP stock bits and pieces for ecotec based l36 and l67.
      Not a great market to get into the early buick scene as there's no support from aftermarket manufacturers.
      If I knew what I know now I wouldn't have done a buick v6 thats for sure.
