Great video! I love going through junkyards. Sometimes the best ideas come from walking through them.
Thanks for videos like this one.
Glad you like them!
Don't forget to grab the 24# injectors and matching 65MM (I think that is the size) mass air meter from those Lincoln Mark VIIIs
A few years ago at a university pull it west Alexzander pa I grabbed a 351 Cleveland out of an old Torino
Awesome! I've never seen a junkyard so Clean and organized. Plus I've never seen so many V8s in one yard, I wouldn't want to leave lol. How much are GT40s and intake at a US junkyard?
Haha Had an 86 Escort 5 speed myself)
Asc sunroof, rear hatch louvers and subs out back.
Nice content brother im glad you are doing well, I haven't seen you in years I'm from Ashtabula too
I myself had an 86 escort two 10s in the back ,with that hatch anything would bump ..lol
haha good old days. Brought a huge smile to my face. However sad that car was actually decent!
Certain year Lincolns have 24# injectors and a 80mm maf. I got some from a junk yard and ran them for a while on my stock motor.
Last time out at my P&P there was a 89 Lincoln MkvII with a complete 302....but I dont have enough room to store an extra one....I almost grabbed it anyway.
You should have !
@@Neomustangs I told myself the 97 302 on the stand, the roller 351 under the bench, and the 71 302 block under the bench, are all happy. Another 302, even if it has forged internals, is gonna require some drastic junk reshuffling......and then what will happen when the stray 351 Cleveland starts looking at me? What a sickening dilemma....😆😆😆
Man! Talk about traffic! I’m glad I live in SoCal! Lol
Haha you see it change in 10 mins!? Ohio weather sheesh
Just did a run last weekend. Got a ford motorsport t5 that looks like its never been ran. A high rise single plain carb intake. A spare 302. A pro 5.0 shifter. It had longtubes but someone chopped one up for no reason and they cut a set of taylor wires as well. Going back for a 351 block in a few weeks
Hello,
I have subscribed as your channel has caught my attention. I like how you shop the junkyard for parts.
I was wondering if you have a video or would make one for us that are newbies and know nothing.
I have a 93 LX 2.3l mustang. I would like to have a V8 with power yet keep somewhat of good gas mileage. I am not a racer or anything. I like cruising with the beefiness.
If you could dumb it down and go step by step shopping on what would work best and what all is needed to make the swap.
I have no idea but your junkyard shopping is awesome and could help me build faster to where I want it. I truly appreciate your time and will continue to watch and support.
Thank you
Thx for subscribing!
my brother had a ford escort like that. he rolled it one day trying to fishtail on a gravel road. we flipped it back over and drove it to school.
Lol
I always spend more time than necessary in junk yards, it takes time to walk around and look at everything
My favorite pastime. A junkyard to me is like a yard sale to my lady
Same mostly I look at classics ill spend a good 20 on each car😂
Junkyards are like Walmart. Keep walking around, and you'll end up buying something!😂😂
@markmccarty9793 ya the only difference is I don't like Walmart 🤣
@logandurhma4244 I hear you, the lines, squealing kids, and all the s!@ts made in China! My first foxbody I bought a set of headers! Had cam, intake, ported heads! Got a c4 built and rock and roll! Then, everything gets out of control! Next thing you know it's like a second job! My buddy had parts, I had parts! Next think you know your racing 4 times a week and running 6.0s eighth mile! Got burned out, broke and worn out! Now, my buddy is faster! But I'm pretending to like the Lifetime Channel !!
The old Mercury mistake lol. Man I haven’t seen one of them in awhile.
It’s why I stopped. I had to give it props lol
Idk why but i feel great when i go to a junk yard inless im pulling a transmission
🔔😎🇺🇸
We don't have squat out here in the middle. 😢😢😢
Do it bring that motor 😢😂🎉
Can you put the sn95 rear caliper setup on a stock length fox axle?
Yep gotta modify them of course.
So the driver side rear axles from rangers will go in the rear end of an 8.8 and fit for foxbodies?
Yes
Unless something changed, it's my understanding that only 83-92 ranger axles work, not newer rangers
Man that linx was in great shape! No rust and from Ohio? Crazy!
Right
I would grad that coyote
Yep 👍
Good Video Man!!
You never know what surprises are the junkyard!!
Ya I was like uh that’s a coyote haha did the metal gear Solid noise lol
love the junkyard videos!
I enjoy making them and walking thru the junkyard
So the coyote engine in the truck, is that 300$ like any other engine you pull? The pick and pull part I went to it was that for what ever engine you pulled. I don’t know if it still that cheap now but was couple years ago.
It’s a set price for v8 engines yes. It’s gone.
Engine your bringing to the channel? Saw the navigator in the back ground? 4 valve mod?
You didn’t see the coyote I put in the video ?
Heck yeah that escort was mint for the age! I had an ‘86 with CFI (remember that?!) and an 88 GT 5 spd. Both of those cars served me well while my fox body hit the streets in good weather back in mid ‘90’s. Man time flies!
Kinda mad it was there. That was in really good condition.
Shit I need those 03 fenders
I have a 90 GT 5.0 that needs rebuilding. Has anyone done a before and after dyno run with a stock 5.0 vs one with GT40 heads, and the mountaineer upper/lower intake ? Curious the hp and torque difference
stock 225 GT40 top end 265. Bout 40 hp. (ish) did this on dads speed density car.
@@Neomustangs thats not bad for factory Fomoco bolt on stuff. Throw in an E cam for 8 more !
Dang buy that escort and put a windsor in it!!! 🤣
Lol
those old 1600 cc Kent engines can be worked over, if you have the old magazines to help out. i think they were used in Formula Ford open wheel race cars back in the 1970's
My first car was an escort.. never see them anymore
Ya I had to stop and pay homage to that old car. In great shape too!
when you pluck the Ranger axle, use a plumb bob to draw/paint a straight line down the axle. that way if you ever go back into the rear again, you can see if the axle twisted on you since you installed it.
12:00 that was the one that I yanked it out of
Haha ya wasn’t much for explorer stuff for intakes.
@@Neomustangs no there wasn't. there was one like four rows before that one that I was going for that was only there for two days It had 110,000 miles and the whole damn motor was gone. I was like it's only been here two days 😭
@@mikemoore2692 haha ya there’s a few had whole motor gone. Smart pull. Whole motor is worth more imo than just the top end. Has good pistons and cam for a drop in and go motor
My buddy and I always referred to it as the bone yard. We would schedule half days at work when I lived in central Ohio just to go to the boneyard. Love the channel!
Cool man thanks!
Always cool content, looking for good gold parts in a junkyard, looks like a very nice organized yard, need these in southeastern VA.
Love these pick videos!!
Hell ya!
I had a situation that wasn't a junkyard pull but still a good one
Guy had a set of 69 DOOE 351w heads he pulled off his collector Cobra for $20. Car had 8k miles on it. 😂 they were in perfect condition putting them on a 351w for my 67 mustang convertible.
sweet! these past few years, i've been doing as well with the private sellers looking to clear out space as hunting junkyards and taking an entire day to screw with some rusted bolt holding everything up. today, tho, as soon as i stepped foot onto the seller's driveway (with no place to park my vehicle in an intersection marked DANGEROUS) the seller told me i'd have to dig deep into his tote boxes, since he only was given the weekend to yank what he had for sale out of a store on the third floor of a building.
hmm...third floor, so no foot traffic, which is why the rent was cheap--suggests the business acumen of the prior owner. and around here, you get 30 days before getting kicked out of anywhere. so i figured the boxes were full of whatever couldn't sell in 28 days and got left behind for the landlord to pay a dumpster for after the remaining good stuff was picked out.
sometimes you can just tell when it was a wasted trip :)
Basically the same as plain GT40 3 bar heads except the old ones have fat spark plugs and stud rockers.
@@hotrodray6802 well, 1969 heads will need hardened exhaust valve seats installed and the newer 351W heads have additional cooling passages around the exhaust ports.
Love, the 6.8L 2 valve P.I. engine!
Earlier this year as I was looking for a shifter for a Blazer I found a carb intake for a 351w mostly found on the market place for around $500, I picked mine up for $32 at a Upull
Nice
Great vid. Love junk yards. I sign up for email updates with my local yard, and got a 20%percent discount.
That is awesome!
Drop it in a fox. How bout a TBird?
Last time at the wrecking yard I found about eight to ten 351W's under the hoods of various Ford trucks/vans. $250/ea. Problem was the owner didn't have any workers worth a damn to pull the engines out, and wouldn't let me do it. I was going to snatch up four of them. After getting the run around week after week I just bounced. Guy was sitting on a gold mine of Ford parts.
That’s terrible
I used a 97 explorer for the 302 and 8.8 for my Ranger. Then I built a 387 based off yours but had my gt40p heads ported, polished, and drilled out for the 351w head bolts. Has a summit f303+ cam, trick flow springs, single plane with a 750 and man it hauls major ass. I'm waiting on a tkx as I type this because I broke the T5
Nice!
This is the third videos I’ve clicked the thumbs up where I was the 765th person! Wtf is going on? 😂
What do you mean ?
Beats hell out of being the sis hundred sixty sixth now don't it.
So what did you buy for $296? The Coyote?
Yes
Very cool to find a Coyote. The Ford 6.2L is one motor you practically never see in junkyards
Snowing already!!
Junk yardin is the alpha equivalent of metal detecting. I love it, most times.
A budget v10 build in a fox would be pretty cool.
Great content , Thank You . Did You get the time to look for any ATS brembo frt. calipers or the Fusion 43mm rear disc calipers and brakets because they make for an excellent brake upgrade for a reasonable price . Best Wishes 🇺🇸🇵🇷🦊👍
There are like 3 or 4 5.0 Explorers and Mountaineers at a junkyard over here in Jacksonville… all of them had the GT40P heads still in them. They all had their intakes as well cause all of them were Non-EGR… except I ran into something interesting… one of them had an EGR upper on a Non-EGR lower… is that something Ford/Mercury would do?
No was a replacement.
I grabbed an upper and lower just sitting in the mud at go pull it in Jacksonville FL. They took the heads and tossed the intake. It was half of weekend to boot. They had a bullitt there to, it was stripped clean
@@guyincognito83 😮💨😮💨😮💨 to bad that Bullitt was stripped! Those have lots of goodies on them. Would kill for some Bullitt Seats.
Could the ranger axles be used with disc brakes too
If I get one of the axles from the explore can I 4 lug swap it and put drum brakes on it?
Can’t use explorer axles. they too big. You mean ranger axles ?
@@Neomustangs yea that’s what I meant
Get that coyote and flip it! Pay for the push rods :)
P heads vs Windsor jr heads which one is better
Both good for budget minded stuff.
