You know what I just realized? Why would they ever need a handler for someone (which her job is basically to manipulate his emotions, if you think about it...in the way she acts disappointed) who is just a machine....? You don't say "I'm disappointed in you, I thought you could do better," to your computer when it crashes (and expect it to work better next time), do you? And you don't say encouraging things to it (most people XD) either. They tell Connor that Amanda is there to assure him he is a functioning machine, but the reality is that you only really need a "handler" for a human being, who may stray from their path or objective for personal reasons. :P
Wait a minute, it's not normal to talk to your computer and tell it "I'm disappointed in you, I thought you could do better by not dying on me" XD
Canalave Maiden yes, but as you can see, these are no normal computers. They are AI. It's a huge fear of humans that AIs will start acting human, so i believe adding a control, of some sort would be logic

Wow! The fact that there's the outcome of completely failing the mission and not even finding the deviant at all (which means skipping all those interrogation cutscenes), is amazing attention to detail and pay attention Telltale: DECISIONS ACTUALLY MATTERING. You can't just screw around - because you could actually fuck it all up.
