Well I went online to look up the pedal. Showed you were playing Bristol in the UK next February and now I have tickets to that show. Which is brilliant!
"You don't want the right press, you want The Wong Press!"
Too perfect
You're not wong!
😂😂😂!
editing on this vid is hilarious. I cannot unsee Cory as Bob Ross lmao
its almost impossible to not like cory, what a soul gold bless
Cory wahng
😂😅😭🫣💀
Wong on so many levels
Cory ...hire female vocalists and form a band in the vein of CHIC and other disco-funk greats! The world needs DISCO-FUNK !
Thanks for finally helping me understand how to pronounce Krangbang
Have the classic hotone but you KNOW I'm switching it out for this bad boi 🎉
Cory has so much energy all the time, seen him twice now and he's running everywhere on stage and full of energy the whole time. I don't know how he does it lol
I mean this looks perfect. I wonder how it affects the tone in the chain and how the buffer is? If it's solid, this could be a perfect VP/EP/Wah.
Obviously tone is subjective, but this pedal is really well-thought out! addresses so many problems with traditional wah/volume pedals
God damn it. I don't have the money for this!! * clicks Add To Cart *
Dang it, I want this pedal now and I don't even know how to play a guitar (much less own one). Good sales pitch!
Brilliant. I want that pedal....
Cory sits atop the guitarist/salesman Mt. Everest
Looks cool too
Congrats for this new signature pedal 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻, the gear looks very reliable 👌🏻, efficient 💯, and have a nice esthetic 🤩!!!
Honestly, if I didn’t already have the Soul Press II, which seems like this without Cory’s name on it, I’d already be buying it. His Wampler Compression/Boost pedal is awesome. What are the differences between Hotone’s Soul Press II and this one?
we upgraded the chassis to be much more durable and robust, and changed a handful of the features to be more musical then mechanical!
@@CoryWongMusic Thing was already built like a tank. You telling me it will now survive the apocalypse? Hell yeah.
@@CoryWongMusic well then if my current one craps the bed, I know where to go!
Get this one and keep your other as a backup 😂 @@devonlarrabee5327 that's what I'm going to do
The volume taper on the Soul Press II was pretty awful: it was all or nothing. I am guessing the sweep is more linear now.
That lunchtime at 432 hz hitting different
I’m sold
Professional vine boom !!
Fastest order after seeing a pedal for the first time I've ever done! 😂
This gives “no more government subsidies for active basses” energy
Press the Wong way!
Good job, Cory WAHng! ;)
Let's get wongky!
Looks like a winner.
I love Wong gear
I hope you read this! Would be so fun if you would release a cory wong signature of every type of pedal and gear there is! By the way im in love with the wongcompressor, use it all the time, also use the boost into a jhs bonsai and a j rockett archer select
I’ve been saying for a bit that it’s time for wah to come back!
No.
The various effects wah has always been around, it just didn't sell unless the brand was known for it.
Digi-design, the chopper T etc...
this has been out for years already.
Three in Wong
Cory this looks awesome! You can send me one for a review whenever you're ready!
I am so enthusiastic that I totally agree with the NEXT comments !
Makes me wish I could play guitar 😂
ok... i gotta know; what was that track at 1:09?
Dude I just started building a pedal board and I was like, “Cory loves the soul press imma get that one”
this one is worth the upgrade!!!
@@CoryWongMusicim a horn player and i still want one of these badass pedals, Cory! Ha! Brother, your music ls next level. Musically yours 👊
@@CoryWongMusicCory...your music is next level 🔥 i am a horn player of decades and i would love this pedal....its badass!
fuck yeah
wongpressor
How is this with a bass through it?
Also, looking forward to Cory's inevitable envelope filter collab.
So.. How this differs from Soul Press 2? Seems like exact same product rebranded..
SP2 had two fatal flaws: You couldn't adjust the volume-setting sensitivity and the wah gave unwanted boost in the signal.
The funk matches the carpet on his shirt.
I'm interested in what your bass player uses!
Corey - How do you toggle between the expression mode and wah/volume mode? The mode selector doesn't have a mode for expression. Killer pedal regardless. Cheers!
That’s what I’m wondering. Is it a separate output that’s always on?
Expression is just a passive function, so I assume it's always an expression pedal if you've got something plugged into the expression output
Expression is always on, this is basically a rebranded soulpress II by hotone with a few small upgrades. I have been using the soulpress II for years its honestly one of my favorite pedals ever. I have my vol/wah in a loop switcher so its only in the signal chain if I want it, that way i can used expression and such without doing volume swells or wahwah sounds. I do like using the wah and expression pedal at the same time occasionally.
If its like the soul-press 2 then you "turn the pedal off" meaning you push hard until you hear the foot switch click, then you're in exp mode.
So it's Ho-Tone and not Hot-One? I don't know how I feel about that.
You need a guitar method….call it “the Wong Way”?
This looks so amazing! Does anyone know if it will fit on a Pedaltrain Nano?
❤
I have the Soul Press II. Kinda curious, in terms of looks it looks like the same pedal with your name slapped on it. Did they fix the 0 - 20% sweep issue? Other than that I wouldn't replace mine. It's also $100 cheaper in mint condition
The real question is, how well does this work with a keyboard?
No Midi??? So how can I control my Cory Wong Neural DSP Plugins on my computer? ☹️
Yesss! I would like to have that and a tuner built in
@@dmytrogarastovych7684 Hotone makes another expression pedal/volume no wah with a built in tuner, I guess they just couldn't fit it all in. I'd sacrifice the battery compartment for a built in tuner personally.
@@gooseabuse yep, I never use batteries in my pedals. An no wah is no go for me
Wah never went anywhere
Can I use it as volume-only on one song and expression-only on the next song without changing any wiring? How do I prevent the volume and expression being active at the same time?
AB Switcher
Does it require power to function as an expression pedal?
It’s so funky and it’s low volume...come on.
I think if you'll get Sonny demo-ing it you'll get 5x more interest in viewers, not only guitarists but bassists like me. I'll probably buy this one, sounds good. But hey, next time get Sonny demo-ing it at lest for a 20 seconds.
Missed the opportunity to call it the Cory Wahg pedal…
I want this pedal but for $220 with shipping before tax (why is shipping $20?!) I can't justify the cost increase over the SoulPress II for $120...I don't feel like $100 is worth it for a slightly different tone curve and indicator lights. Love the idea, just feel the pricing is a little greedy. Hotone should offer free shipping and then I'd buy it.
upgraded parts, and chassis is much more sturdy for people who are gonna take it on the road!
@@CoryWongMusic That makes sense! OK so I bought the Hotone Soul Press II and the swell on the volume pedal is really fast, like I barely press it and it goes from very quiet to very loud too quickly. Is this updated on your version with a more gradual swell? If so I will buy it :)
Anyone make a pedal with USB? Is my only option the wireless one someone else makes? Cory mentions plug-ins...but how do i connect this to a PC?
isn't this just the Hotone Soulpress?
I prefer to call the brand "Hot-one" instead of "Ho-tone"
I call it Hot Tone
What happens if you press it at the Wong time?
Is it just me or is this looking smaller than the soul press 2? 🤔
199 bucks though? Then Soul Press II was 100 when I got mine. This one is supposed to be TWICE as good? Because it's TWICE the PRICE! I don't even know who this Wong guy is. Seems great but never heard of him. You're asking too much for this Hotone.
If you don’t know who he is, then your opinion means dick.
Hows this different from the hotone soulpress 2 wah/vol/exp?
How does this differ from soul press?
Is this different from old purple sparkly one that I bought after seeing your rig rundown a couple years ago?
yes it's an upgraded and tour robust version! also the sweep of volume and wah are more musical and less mechanical!
I love Cory Wong but for 200 bucks it should at least be a metal enclosure
wow cool! but looks pretty dang tiny under your foot though.
honestly fits really comfortably
I already have the Soul Press 2...... Sigh **pulls out wallet**
it's worth the upgrade!
@@CoryWongMusic I fully plan on it!!
I checked out the manual, and I'm still not quite sure about how the exp out works. The manual says that it works in any mode, but is it switchable, since it is a TRS connection? Like say I'm using the wah and would want to use the toe-down switch to move over to exp-out to my HX Stomp? Or is the exp simply always active?
I assume it will work as the HoTone Press II, so unfortunately no.. The exp is always active
@@fedevespa13 thanks I didn't think to look at the Press II for more insight. I guess it's not too big a deal really since I could just use one of the HX's footswitches to turn on the effect and then move my foot over. I'd still be saving an FX block in most of my presets (wah) and saving room with a smaller expression pedal.
@@nuuukethewhalesI think it would be best used by creating an effect loop instead of using the Volume and Wah Blocks and when you would want to use it as expression, create a snapshot/scene that turned off the effects loop and activated the expression function
It looks like same as Hotone Soulpress2…
The Only different is the color.
actually has a lot of upgrades and customized stuff, and a much more robust chassis!
@@CoryWongMusicImpressive! I need to replace my SP2 with this!
Twice the price of the existing soul press? (which I have and is great btw)
I actually wish it was a bit larger
Wow that's kind of crazy since the only difference I could tell was the lights change from blue to green. Which would be kind of of handy for me, as I have the soul press in my loop switcher and I'm often not sure if I am turning on a volume or Wah. Not sure it justifies 80 more dollars though
not being able to switch it to just expression and bypass the volume/wah without unplugging the input and output is the dumbest shit on earth
Its a terrible sounding wah pedal. Is this a serious video?
This is Kirk Hammett erasure
I'm glad you're dressing like an adult and you have a cool project that you're promoting.
Annoying
Sorry to say, these Hotone Soul pedals are not reliable. They develop noise in the rocker over the time, so sooner or later they become useless.
we upgraded all of the parts for my version of the pedal! it's great and i've road tested it for several months!!!
