    Terrific video Ryan.
I got tired just watching you do all the different jobs associated with a flight like that. Especially in the hot humid weather conditions. Lots of mental and physical work. (And you were actually running between jobs as well...whew!)
I'm in awe of all the camera positions and drone scenery shots you go to the effort of producing.
    Cheers and keep safe.

    Hi Ryan,
First and foremost, thanks for taking the time and trouble to film, edit and post these videos.
For what is it worth, I prefer your normal format, in that you use all your cameras and edit and combine inside/outside/G1000 views, as opposed to the 360 video format you used recently.
Also, I really like the on the ground videos, so if you have the time and energy, please continue posting more of them.
I am a 1000 hour private, instrument rated pilot, based on New York. I recently retired after more than 39 years as an air traffic controller, which includes around 6 years as a flight service weather briefer, a couple of years in an enroute air traffic control center with the rest in a VFR Air Traffic Control Tower. With this background, I am fascinated with the whole concept of VFR/IFR flying in PNG. Watching your videos, I am often sitting on the edge of my seat, especially when you are flying near low visibility areas in rain.
While I choose the path of least resistance, I commend you for going in the opposite direction, fielding and overcoming obstacles and achieving your goals.
    Thanks,
    Jon

I watched a few videos of yours, always gave them a thumbs up, and today I finally subscribed. Your videos are awesome, the effort you put into creating these videos is insane. Having been a recreational pilot myself and having carried a Gopro once in a while I can assess the level of confidence you must have in your flying skills. Most non-pilots aren't aware that creating this kind of content first and foremost requires a lot of mental headroom, something that only comes with experience. And what I especially like about your videos is that they clearly show that you need a solid knowledge of your aircraft and its capabilities, but that flying is also very much about mastering the environment as well: landscape, weather, ATC, or the lack theroff. I hope the makers of todays flight simulators are getting this impression too, as the simulation of aircaft in current sims has progressed far more than the simulation of the atmosphere - unfortunately.

Ryan, As one who spent their career landing a B747 on a 10,000 foot runway with an approach speed of 150 kts I have to say that your skill in landing on a short grass strip is fantastic. Also, we had people to load/unload the aircraft, refuel etc.
Your glass cockpit display is also pretty cool. Respect…

So, I enjoy and appreciate you sharing your life through the videos. The procedure for attaching the cable to the helicopter seems too dangerous. A wind gust or inadvertent control input by the pilot and you could be dead. Maybe they should land the chopper in front of a barrel and crawl underneath to attach the line. Please be safe my brother!

PNG is a very different environment compared to what many of us are used to. The organisation Ryan works and flies for have very strict rules regarding environmental conditions regarding landings and take offs in the remote areas. The acceptable wind speeds are remarkably low and they are very aware of wind shear and downdrafts at the airstrips they operate at. Like you I wouldn't be keen on hooking on that load to the chopper but in truth I believe Ryan is fully aware of the potential dangers and knows how to deal with them. Being beneath the chopper certainly keeps you clear of the rotors which are the most dangerous part of the scenario.

It's pretty standard for sling loading. The pucker facter is only high on the first few. Safety training, only front exit, stay in pilots view. Density altitude at mountain airstrips in the tropics gets interesting.

At 2:45 you show the loading of 3 drums of fuel.
It's hard to tell from the pictures, but I gather the drums are not pushed together, but are fastened to the floor individually, with a spacing of around 20 cm between drums.
At 4:05 you enter the weight and location of the 3 drums.
You show a spacing of 800 mm for the CG's of the drums.
If memory serves, the drums (~2 feet wide and 3 feet tall?) are about 600 mm in diameter, leaving 200 mm of a gap between them.
I wonder if my calculations "add up". lol

I really enjoyed the ground ops and it actually makes your job seem even better. Attaching the cable to the helo required some cojones! More of this please and godspeed

Very much enjoyed the ground aspect of the trip. I understand it's more work for you but keep it up. 👍

Bruh, that was a cool video! It shows the real work that you actually have to do, cool man! I know how challenging it is to try to film a video and get the task done, it takes so much longer to get it done, so much more to think about. Thumbs up!!!

Loved the on-the-ground segments. They bring back many memories of when I spent a few decades serving on the missions committee of our church. We supported many New Tribes families. And the trips I took were all so special. When I think of those beautiful people on the ground at your airstrip it brings back those kind of memories. So I know it must take a lot more time to make and edit one of these videos, Ryan, but I do appreciate it whenever you can do it. God bless and fly safe!
