    4:54 The wife and I bring a "tent bag" to sleep with us. It's a little tote bag with night time essentials like earplugs, extra phone battery, Kleenex, pee bottle, etc... It's a major pain in the neck after we're comfortably tucked in only to discover we forgot something down in the truck. So yeah, spend the night in the tent before your trip to sort everything out.

Bro, seriously, I’m six to my son is 62 and 19 years old now we want to go fishing, and do some camping style man in your view for guys like us just starting out. This felt rambly. Also, the more I hear about RTT setups the happier I am with my ground tent that takes 5 minutes to set up or tear down and I can dry it in my basement when I need to.

    • @rxtu7367
      @rxtu7367 2 месяца назад

      I really love my ground tent, I have a cot, a table and chair, a portable toilet, a heater, and plenty of room for my gear. I’m incredibly comfortable and it’s tall enough for me to stand up and walk around.
      RTT’s are awesome and I think they are very convenient. Quick setup and tear down for moving along the trail. I’ve been spoiled with my ground tent, I like to take the top off my Jeep, and a ground tent it’s also much cheaper than RTTs.

    • @AustinH7
      @AustinH7 29 дней назад +1

      You gotta consider the time it takes to set up every aspect of your sleep system, not just the tent. My pop up ground tent takes 90 seconds to set up, however by the time I’ve inflated my matress, set up my sleeping bag, pillow, lugged my overnight bag to the tent it takes about 15 minutes and it pretty straining on the body. Most rooftop tents include a pre set up matress, you can leave your sleeping bag and pillows inside, etc. I’m not saying an RTT is better, but you gotta realize their are advantages and disadvantages to both sleep systems. Personally, I would rather have a pop up truck bed camper shell as it has almost every advantages of both sleeping systems with less downsides.

    If it’s windy leave the elastic chord in it’s take down position and it will help the tent from flapping around(clam shell style) and buy some cheap levelling blocks at princess auto and use the inclimeter in the car/truck also use a half mattress if your by yourself so you aren’t messing up the mattress! 🤘

    Good video one of your best tutorials. And for the people chipping on you about advertisements, I find it hard to believe they don’t understand sponsorship. I was involved with NASCAR for many years as well other forms of racing as well I relied on sponsorship to help fund my racing, so I wonder if complaining people watch racing and complain about sponsors on vehicles lol. I think you’re doing your advertisements in a very concise and brief way, well done. ✌️
    And if the folks complaining are reading this, keep in mind sponsorship is what allows many people the opportunity to entertain you👍

    I’m a new RTT owner. I just had it open this week to acclimate myself, also to air out that “new tent” smell. Do you zip all the windows and entry doors shut before closing? If not, why not? I zipped everything closed which made it take longer to close. I plan on spending a couple of nights in it at home as suggested. However, we just had a spring snowstorm so that will need to wait. Thanks for putting this video together.

    The alucab fabric is thick and heavily coated/sealed so it doesn't breathe at all. You need to keep a vent open for fresh air. If you sleep in it sealed up (in cold weather), you will wake up with effects of elevated CO2 levels. I only run mine in the cold with a diesel heater to bring in fresh air. You could also not run a heater but you really need to keep at least the tiny top vent open and crack a side vent open too. That will, of course, let cold in so prepare for that.

      I've always made videos on interesting products I find and how I use them. I try to make videos that help the most people out as long as I like making videos. I really enjoy finding new and interesting gear and these videos really seem to interest a lot of people so I keep making them. I do find my videos go in cycles depending on what availability I have as I work full time. I can't plan trips all the time unfortunately and working on my rigs or getting over to Epic ( which requires 5 hours and ferry) isn't viable all the time. I'd rather keep making videos as I find new gear then make no videos at all. Some great events and trips planning coming up. Unfortunately due to work EJS wasn't one this year.
