Your efforts are SOOOOOO helpful. I’m 10 months off 17 years of benzos and I wish I would have found this sooner! You’re describing almost all my symptoms at that time. The under chest craving pain! Oh my! And the mental insanity of feeling like your on LSD! TOTALLY! Thank you SOOO much for this log. It is SO helpful for me.

Yes I did cold turkey, not by choice, my story involved 30 yrs of chronic drinking, and other drugs. That's how I coped. I met a dr who prescribed me zanax, when that didn't work anymore. We added clonipan, then serequel. And to too it all off, oxycodone. I went to detox, treatment, and sober living for 2 mos. then went home. I'm now off all of it 14 months. I feel great. I still have rough days, but bro my quality of life is good. Stay the course you will feel better too. Good luck , peace be with you! If I can get clean anybody can! 🕉

Took benzos for panic attacks. They helped for a while - but panic attacks in withdrawal are on a different level. A whole different level. Taking another benzo (diazepam) in desperation made it even worse. Only option was to stop and take withdrawals because I will NEVER take another. Hoping you will be feeling better soon as you only went back on them for a short time. After 10 weeks of last 10mg dose I started getting windows, and after 6 months I still fight it every day but can function. Symptoms included complete intolerance to light & sound, buzzing/crawling sensations, severe head pressure & a feeling I'd been hit in the face, electric shock & pain throughout my body. Insomnia - I didn't sleep at all for first 7 days - exhaustion & panic on waking (set my alarm for 2 hours so wouldn't wake in panic) Each day, new symptom. Physical symptoms: dry, thinning skin, bladder inflammation, swollen hands and feet, food intolerance, bowel problems, palpitations & a deep depression. I couldn't believe a psych med could have such horrendous consequences. You're doing great - the only way is up!

please continue to fight through. I know it's hard. I had to go through ssri withdrawal (still struggling, failed the first time and this is my second time trying to be off of it). I know ssri is not as powerful as benzo but these two drugs are somewhat similar and the symptoms you mention in the video I can relate. stiffness, etc. it's been a year already I'm off and I'm still struggling. I wish I never took these drugs in the first place. it's gonna be a long journey but we must keep going.

Wember Dourts thanks man. ya it's a bitch . praying it gets easier. I've heard ssri withdrawal can be nasty and even as bad as benzos so don't sell it short. all these mood altering drugs are scary an dangerous and create major brain damage.

After 2 months I was still very sick, be patient keep going. Get to the gym, or run daily, music, and more time. I also take gaba, helped me, I stareted to feel better about 6 months. Keep going. It's real. Takes time. I'm at 10 months I still have head pressure. I can't wear a hat. I used to wear one all the time. Keep going. I feel so much better.! Keep the faith bro !

Bro as an ex HEAVY Xanax abuser 10 - 20mg DAY! Seizures, hospitalized 3 times in 9 months but you are experiencing WAY too much after 2 months of abstinence.
I get it though bro,i only have to look at benzos now and ill withdraw!
I also notice that ive done some kind of damage and even if i am completely clean and have been for a significant time i could suddenly take 4mg Xanax and feel relatively nothing!
My thoughts are with you my brother and you have a new sub,you genuinely dont look like a druggie loser, your not full of self pity and these videos do nothing to glamourise Benzodiazepines, good job!

ddsdavey damn dude I can't even imagine taking 20mg xanax. I'd be blacked the hell out. I would black out from 1mg. thanks tho man I appreciate it, this shit is crazy. I know.a dude who is in withdrawal from only using for 9 days! but I feel my symptoms get better every few days, so I think the worst is over. yea man if I was you if just avoid this shit. there's better less addicting drugs out there if ya need to try something. anyways take it easy man

From what I have been through and gathered, the craving is mineral or vitamin deficiency. I think the meds make you not absorb nutrients.

I am just over four months out from the end of my forced R/T (7 months) from a dose of the Benzo analogue Diclazepam (not to be confused with Diazepam) equivalent to 700mg of Diazepam. I have kinda the opposite issue to you, most of my withdrawal symptoms are purely physical, my brain seems to be doing quite well, but my body has well and truly gone South. I have the inner vibration thing to such an extreme I feel like some kind of external force is torturing me 24/7 with a live electric wire, I've got lots of pain, bone, muscle, joint, nerve, total intolerance to physical activity to the point even walking upstairs will make me very sick, I am listless and lethargic (fatigue and lethargy are my worst symptoms, I can barely move most days), sleep most of the time, my right side is very severely affected to the point my right leg has started to give out and I've fallen over loads of times like a weak, frail older person, plus tons more but I'll spare you the long drawl of details. Feel free to ask me if you want though.
It really is no way to live is it?. This is without the constant arguments with people around you. I've been called lazy, useless and a few others. I've lost all my friends, not because I can't communicate with them but because I am too sick to leave the house most days. I'm not afraid to go out, it just makes me very, very sick. My poor late stepdad had more of a life when he was on Chemo suffering from aggressive prostate cancer. I lost both him and my biological dad to cancer, both weren't totally bedridden until their very final days. I am. I've lost interest in everything because the things I enjoy just frustrate me now because I am too unwell to do them. I was lied to, told this wouldn't happen to me and to 'get over' it. Doctors told me this, an addiction clinic told me this!.

I see this comment is 5 years old but I want to share as these videos have some of the most useful content for people going through benzo withdrawal.
Doctors as well told me not to worry about the withdrawal. They told me 2 weeks and youre better. Id been trying to get off to no avail for about 5 years without progress before they finally detoxed me in the hospital and put me on phenobarbital to prevent seizures. I still spent 3 days in a delirium state and spent the next several days apologizing to docs and nurses! Apparently I was so rough I actually broke the restraints I was in! Some nurses came in just to tell me they saw me at the beginning and i was “not the same thing” lol.
Fast forward about a week and i was going home on a low dose of phenobarbital. Doctor said there was no way the withdrawal can last beyond 2 weeks. I’m here to confirm… doctors don’t know what they’re talking about!
While I’ll say life is easier than it was functionally addicted to benzos, 2 weeks benzo free and im still hallucinating, have burning hot or cold nerve pain, sweating, fatigue, poor memory and concentration, everything takes more effort to do. I have all sorts of weird, unbelievable symptoms. This vibrating, whirring sensation that feels like sandpaper against the brain, numb tongue and lips, frozen tongue and lips, burning tongue and lips, you get the idea. Still, this is a great improvement from being in a constant state of mild withdrawal that i became accustomed to after 7 years on benzos. Absolutely no cravings for the drug or alcohol!

Tapered down to 10mg which I voluntary cold turkeyed. Want all of this shit out of my body. Want to be able to take a drug test and have no fucking benzos show up. Thanks for the videos.

I’ve been taking benzos (Xanax) since I was 16 years old and i started off 1mg. Then it extended to me having to take 2mg twice a day. I am now 20 years old and I have to take Atleast 8mg per day. I’ve tried thoughout the years the quit cold turkey, but my withdrawal symptoms are only irritability, depression, drowsiness, and cold sweats. Is this because Xanax and Valium are that different?

    • @sixslow
      @sixslow  5 лет назад

I think it's just cause people react differently. Because I started on xanax and had severe interdose withdrawals with only 1mg. That's what started me getting on valium. I would be careful though, 8mg is a lot. It may not be bad now but it can get a lot worse

If you have SIBO, you probably have leaky gut which could cause pain all around. I came out positive for SIBO twice even after antibiotics. In both cases it was low but my GI disregarded SIBO saying that he doesn;t believe I actually have SIBO. Anyway, I took raw garlic for 1 week with honey and then later I took Oregano oil (sublingual) for 9 days so I hope If I actually did have SIBO I no longer have it. Sure, can't really tell because the only symptom I had was bloating. ;-(

Things will get better. maybe try changing your diet to a gluten free, sugar free and msg free diet. you will most likely start to notice the difference in how you feel. this might sound weird but if you have been having more hair growth on your arms and body, it might be a sign of malabsortion. vitamin deficiency can make things worse.

I think this symptoms come from the nervous system. They are real in that sense that the nervous system is hitting your body - and you actually could die from this. But they are virtual in that sense that there is no real infection or illness there. The only thing that is ill (the withdrawal) is a small small part of your nervous system. I don't know benzo withdrawal. I took Leponex (Clozapine) 125mg for more than 10 years. The withdrawal of Clozapine has a much harder impact on the body. It is the so called limbic system in the brain - it does emotion and e.g. temperature regulation of the body, kidney regulation and so on. I am on day 120/59 (125mg/0mg) now. My body temperature is stable now, need only little cold water, no more ice bath's.
