Clarification on latency - Cameras generally contribute much more latency than a monitor. In this case, the Canon C200's SDI port seems to contribute the majority of the latency you see in the demo - far more than the 14ms contributed by the monitor.
Thank you for the helpful review and demo. I owned this monitor and would like to calibrate it. Any recommendations for calibration settings? I also have the X-rite i1 Display.
Hi Curtis, thank you for this great video full of usefull information, presented in the most professional manner as usual ! PS: I wonder if it is possible to send the hdmi video feed from the camera to this unit and then directly to an external recorder or my computer for a facebook live for instance ? Thank you !
Do you have any guidance for finding a super bright monitor without all the bells and whistles? I only need brightnesses (anything from 17-21" --ideally 17")? I cant find anything to fit the bill outside of this one and the Atmos (which is way overkill).
Great question, Senoga. I'll measure that when I get a few minutes. When the monitor ships, it has the battery plate over that part of the monitor so it is hard to tell without taking that off.
I'd love to know more about the ethernet control. I emailed Osee with no response. In a live streaming studio environment it would be cool to have remote control with Companion and a Streamdeck (to toggle zebras or false color or focus peeking).
@@curtisjudd You've tested it, and pointed out the remote control feature via Ethernet port in your video(@04:28 Remote control via ethernet). Believe you can show more details about it.
As per Curtis's video, it should fulfill the features you mention. To be sure about it, it's better to contact their support(support@osee-dig.com) and double confirm it. FYI!
Brief review: fans are loud, silly that there’s an external power adapter, and screen’s glossy finish can make it hard to view outdoors. But otherwise, great functionality.
@@curtisjudd thank you. I've heard from some that it's not sharp enough to pull focus off of. Do you think the loud fans will be fixed in a firmware update?
@@isaacbedford3644 We used the Sumo as a focus monitor on a production without issue. And no, I doubt that the OSEE fans will be turned down when you have the monitor cranked to full backlight and full brightness. It needs to be kept cool enough to function. In the case of the Sumo, they just run all the time and are not what I would describe as quiet.

I've been looking for this monitor all week. This was such a useful (and timely) review. Thank you 🙌🏾
Thanks, Justin. 👍

Hello Curtis :) Great review. Is it possible to display three feeds? At one point on the video you seem you have 10 feeds??? Thank you in advance
No. The 10 feeds are a single feed from a livestream switcher.

Hi Martial, I believe only the SDI inputs can pass through the signal. I do not believe the monitor will cross convert the HDMI signal to SDI.

No any that I've tested. Sorry about that.
Thanks Curtis!!
You're most welcome!
Curtis, did you test the latency on HDMI or SDI (or both)? Was it still 14ms on SDI?
The demo was with SDI. The majority of the observed latency is from the camera - which is far more than the 14ms from the monitor.
Can u use this monitor for focus pulling?
Yes
@@curtisjudd what wireless focus on budget do u recommend with this monitor ? Thanks much
@@Dilkibaatstories I use the Tilta Nucleus M.
@@curtisjudd thank you. Does it help u with cine lenses like Arri signature primes or cooke ? Thanks
It works with any Cine lens which already has gears, and it comes with gears for use with non-Cine lenses.
Does this accept a 75,100, or 200mm VESA Monitor Mount on the back?

No word back from OSEE, Senoga. Sorry about that.
Thank you Curtis !
Interesting typo in the third word of the third line of the Pros. :)
Where were you before I published this? 😉 Thanks for catching that. Too bad RUclips doesn't allow me to fix that and replace this video. 🧐
@@curtisjudd Yes, RUclips can be frustrating. 😤
Can you make a review of Lark 150 Hollyland? Pleaseeeee

Are you sure the latency is 14ms and not 140ms? With the lag that we see 14ms seems way too low.
Hi Luis - the majority of the latency you see in the demo is from the camera. Only 14ms of the overall latency is from the monitor.
@@curtisjudd Thanks for the clarification. Keep up the great work! Your videos are invaluable and helped my professional education significantly.

I don't have any specific insights - I assume you're looking for details on the API interface? Not a good sign if their support group doesn't respond.

@@alexlee9842 Hi Alex, I don't have the API spec, but I can say that it emulates the full menu system in a web browser.
@@curtisjudd Yes, it's somewhat webserver, through which you can fulfill the menu system, I think.

Sony might have them beat, actually.
