I take a 55 inch TV for the clients when I'm in the studio. I use "real" monitors, but the clients love the TV.

I think the most important thing in a monitor this size wasn't talked about in this video. How easy is it to calibrate?
As several people have commented, the most important thing is calibration! I gather this model can be calibrated using the cable and loading in a calibration 3D LUT. Please could you respond to this comment with how successful you found this (and how accurate the monitor became) or make a separate video showing the calibration process? Thanks in advance!

Great video as alway, thx. I found with this monitor when I look at the screen close up there is noticeable noise...even when exposed correctly. Is that normal in an HD Production monitor? Image is good etc..just wondering about that noise...which seems non-exposure related if that makes sense.
What’s the weight? Light enough to mount on a dolly? Jib? Tripod? Magic arm?
Is there a vesa mount?
I know this video is 2 years old now and hopefully you’ve already realized this but “brightness” changes the lightness of the image not the actual brightness of the monitor. The backlight is what changes the number of nits the monitor is outputting.

Yeah its honestly fine. Its metal and has 4 screws total holding it together. Its just an odd design imo
Do you have any guidance for finding a super bright monitor without all the bells and whistles? I only need brightnesses (anything from 17-21" --ideally 17")? I cant find anything to fit the bill outside of this one and the Atmos (which is way overkill).
Great review. I got this monitor recently and like it a lot. But they want $80 for the tiny cheese plate that fits on the back. That is very high, considering you can get similar cheese plates for about $7 at small rig. Have you found a 3rd party cheese plate which will fit on the back of this monitor? Would love to avoid spending the $80.

Have you had any scaling issues with this monitor? I've noticed when running a camera through the HDMI input that it crops the outer pixels in the frame around 5% or so. So the image appears more "zoomed in" that it actually is. Ever run into this?

You’ll see that when filming a monitor sometimes. There if basically no lag in reality.
Big monitors are great but if you don’t know how true the color is there is no point. Someone should compare this monitor to a Flanders or the small HD production oleds

Yeah. A large monitor is nice to have it on set. But a good monitor...like Flanders or Sony.
The ones that I could not afford, but only for rent in my life. hehehe

Last major item on the list.
You need to talk about calibration. Which pretty much should happen every time you shoot in a different location. Otherwise they are useless.
I dont understand.. as a dp you dont need a giant monitor because you wont rig that thing on your camera.. as a first AC I can understand why you would want a bigger monitor. Those guys gotta be really fast and run around with the dp a lot so I understand why they prefer small monitors. So I can only really understand it for the director, production, continuety etc people and they actually almost always have a big monitor because they will stay at one place most of the time.
I light my scenes on a tripod and i dont even touch the camera during this process. So the big monitor is amazing for that.
I’m guessing you’ve never had to wait for film to come back from the lab.

I like Spenser's channel. He does great work. I was being snarky because Spenser was making broad assumptions on how other cinematographers work. When I was shooting negative, there was nothing to monitor. You had an analog light meter and an ISO. The relevance? I can use those same techniques today and get a great image. Does any of it matter here? Not really. They're just tools. And opinions. Spenser has his, I have mine. Again, I was being snarky.
