      Thanks Paul It has taken a few days to get it off the ground and get confused with the buttons. I had Jas standing in the water casting. hopping to get some good shots for editing and I turned off the record button (silly twit). Maybe next time I definitely need more practise Cheers Iain 🥃

      well spotted Allan. It is going to take a while for an old mad to master and may have a couple of misshapes before it comes together. I thought I had recorded some great acting with Jas but old age got in the road of things onwards and upwards
      Cheers Iain. 🥃

    A new `toy` to play with Iain? It really does enhance the overall effect of the visuals and seeing the river in all its glory. You`ll be starting a subscription service soon! Tight lines in 24 :)

    Hi Iain. I used to fish Farlayer and Taymouth Castle waters when I was nobburt a lad. Its amazing in those days the top of the beat where the Lyon runs into the Tay was completely treeless. And that pool upstream on the Tay "The Point" was to die for.
    I see you've acquired an overhead cam - great Iain. Tight lines.

      Thanks Philip First time fishing at Upper Farleyer and I had a good day for it. The river changes over the years and vegetation can grow at a rate that creeps up when we aren't watching I haven't had the toy for long and I have found it a bit strange to use and editing was another challenge I hope you get the chance to get back there Cheers Iain. 🥃

    Looks a lovely beat Iain albeit it bitterly cold.. When I thought your videos couldn't be bettered you gone and done it. Thought the drone footage was brilliant and its certainly gives a new perspective of the river.

      Hi Again Stephen This was the first time playing with the drone and I thought I had some great recordings of Jas casting but must have pressed a button that stopped recording and only had a few clips . I may try again its a handful to manage when you are old . I think that a youngster would have it going round in circles when I can only go in strait lines Cheers Iain. 🥃

    Fair play to you for sticking at it-I wish you hadn't mentioned freezing feet ! I'm off up to the Teith on Monday, if I'm spared; still, apparently freezing showers are the new cure-all !

    Hi Iain , lovely bit of water you had that day but no luck, I thought it was a little bright when you first started and it got better and a little more cloud cover during the day but still didn’t see anything showing. Great camera work over the river and what a cracking bit of water too. Our season starts on the 3rd March but we are having loads of rain and flash flooding at the moment hopefully it would have eased down by then. Will let you know how I get on. 🥃Steve.

      I do try cover the margins Paulo .. I try letting the fly come close to the bank as I know that is where a lot of fish travel upstream.

    Great vid lain, looks a really nice beat. Is that where miss Ballantine cought her fish? Or am I thinking of somewhere else

    • @IainSB
      @IainSB  4 месяца назад +1

      The Upper Farleyer beat is about 20 miles above where Georgina caught her 64lb Fish there are summary great places to fish and hope to try a few more this season. There were 9 copies of Miss Ballantines fish and I owned one for a while and have photo of myself and my son Drew holding the case with the fish and think I tagged it onto a previous video .... I will be joining a mate Bill and fishing the pool where she caught the monster next month and looking forward to having a cast there Cheers Iain. 🥃
