Excellent job. Mine is at my waist now from a big chop of 1 inch. Although I have no extensions now, I started off with kinky braided extentions; then took them out a few months later. They're 10 years old now. Here's to our Locs❗️👑💜🥂

i don’t recommend doing this. people who are doing this aren’t ready for locs . locs aren’t meant to be manipulated and covered up or added extensions. it takes patience and dedication and learning to have locs on your head. i’m 5 years in and i’ve never manipulated mine even when i felt wow my hair looks crazy. you have got to trust your hair and understand locs is not a “ pretty or neat style “ it’s a real spiritual journey. if you feel you need to do this or that your unhappy with locs you’ll never love them just go back now . locs are an instant love and if you don’t feel that they aren’t for you , and that’s perfectly okay .

I have had my loc extensions in for 3 months now and I love them! I recently combed out the ends of my loc extensions and they look so much more natural than the blunt look that I had before. Also your loc extensions turned out really good! I love the blonde highlights you added. I was thinking of getting my hair bleached all one color (blonde) but I might just get highlights just to see how I like it.

These look really good and will only get better over time. I had made my own and my ends looked like yours. After about 2 months I ended up cutting the ends off because they were driving me crazy. I kept mine for about 9 months and then cut the majority off because they were so heavy when wet. This makes me miss my locs so much.

My real locs were about 4 inches to go before reaching shoulder length in some areas, and the back of my hair was shoulder length ( the back of my hair grows faster) I decided to install loc extensions myself to make them a bit more even for versatility. I made the locs at first, and they came out nice, but it was absolutely too much! My fingers were killing me, so I gave up. Especially when I would have had to make 100 locs. So I decided to buy the rest.
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, and I’m very good at doing hair. I do braid extensions, starter locs, ( I didn’t start my own because it was a present from my youngest daughter, after my hair was growing back after battling cancer. This is my second set. ) weaves, I even make and sell custom lace units. This is so frustrating!
I combed out the ends of my locs and I passed the area that I combed out on my real locs and wrapped the the loose ends of the loc extension around my loc and took my time and crochet them into my real loc until it was super tight.
Then the loose ends of my loc around I wrapped around the loc extension and crochet it while turning the loc until it was super tight. Palm rolled that area and it looked nice. I pulled in them really hard, but when I wash them they started falling out. This
Then I reinstalled them again and where I combined, I took 100 % bulk hair and wrapped it around the areas that was combed and crochet so that it will reinforce them so they won’t come loose when I wash it. A lot of of the loc extensions still came out, or either the were separating to the point if I just touch it it would come apart completely.
I’ve came to the conclusion that I may have gotten the loc extensions to large for my extra small locs ( I previously purchased small). I just bought extra small locs and I’ll give an update. My real hair is very thin and my real locs are so small ( some almost micro size) so maybe it was to much hair on the ends of loc extensions to the ratio of my real locs.
The only difference I did that I didn’t comb out the ends of all my hair at once, I did them as I installed. I just took about a week, but I just combed out the ends of about 5 to 10 a day and installed them that day. Then I continued the same process the next day and so on, until I was finished.
Great video, and your hair looks awesome! New subbie!
