I'm SO excited to be making tutorials again, let me know if there's any specific songs you'd like to learn. And be sure to grab my PDF with tabs and sheets for the 33 BEST ocarina songs right now on my Patreon! patreon.com/docjazz4
I'm so happy you're making tutorials again! Not knowing how to read sheet music myself, it's easy to lose interest in playing ocarina when you can't learn songs without tabs. I've been wanting to learn Plants vs Zombies 1 songs on the ocarina for so long, so I would love if you made a tutorial on Loon Boon
Definitely all the Ocarina songs from Zelda OoT and Majora, and some additional songs from windwaker or Skyward sword, well anything Zelda is fine with me, your tutorials are great!😂😄
Just in time! I literally just got my first (actually good) ocarina a few days ago and tried playing this today, and now you posted a more in depth tutorial. I will definitely try this one out tomorrow :D
I will get my Ocarina tomorrow for my birthday. Already learning the Zelda Songs with your vids. Thanks a lot. I am 38 yo with Zelda games in my heart. :D Cannot wait until my son will be old enough to enjoy the games. He is only 3 yo.
It’s great to see you still posting. I’ve been watching your vids since I was a kid. Got into ocarinas through Zelda, but watching your vids growing up always made me wanna learn new songs
These tabs are totally different from the Zelda tabs book from songbird, I've noticed that book isn't quite right when it comes to songs and notes so I have had to alter lots of songs, and this version of yours sounds much more correct than in the songbook. Thank you for the tutorial!
Thanks a ton, I love the content and just recently got into learning the Ocarina after watching your videos and realizing “I’ve always wanted to play the instrument, and I want to know how to play an instrument.. so why not fulfill both wishes” and here I am listening to your videos for guidance.
Hey David! Im not on the same account but I first saw you from your Naruto cover of Sadness and Sorrow on the Ocarina in the forest. Just wanna say, Im so happy to see you still making videos! You popped into my friends feed and I instantly recognized your face and ocarina playing; and even though I couldnt remember your old channel name (Im sure it wasnt your name all that time ago) one quick search for Sadness and Sorrow and BAM, you were there and I almost burst into tears. 15 years ago. Its still one of my favorites at age 30. Thank you for the awesome lessons! Thanks for all the music and thank you for all Zelda love!
Sehr sehr gut gemachtes Video ich liebe die Art wie er erklärt bin als absoluter Anfänger rein gegangen und würde jetzt von mir behaupten das Lied nach 30 Minuten zu können 10/10❤
So glad i found you my guy.soon as i got my ocarina in i started learning kikori forest from some chick.she wasnt bad but then i ran into your beautifully tuned serenade of water an iv been going thru the videos an will be ever more till i learn all i can from you master.thank you so much for taking your precious time to teach us lowly beings lol jk but foreal your fire an your stuff is fire an id def love to learn more from you.keep uo the awesome wicked work man.
Hey i love your content! I would really love a "Fi'S Theme" tutorial...I know you probably get 100s of requests but im really having a hard time with it😢Keep up the good work 👏
David, I'm absolutely loving your ocarina tutorials! Please keep them coming! It's so hard to find a hole list to match with an example video, but you've solved that completely. I have an 18 hole so it can sometimes be hard to adapt it to these admittedly wonderful 12 hole guilds, particularly the highest notes on your Stone Tower Temple Guild as an example. I've been trying to figure out how to switch to the second chamber for the highest notes but I am so new I don't know what I'm doing! Any chance you can make a 18 hole guild for Stone Tower Temple using your songbird Alto C Double Ocarina!? You know, if your board or something... :P Until then I will be grabbing your tab list.
I love your videos!! They are very helpful! I don't know if you could help me, I play the ocarina as a hobby, and I want to learn how to play "This Land" from the soundtrack of The Lion King. If you could make a video for that song it would be awesome!
Oh my gosh. After maybe 2 hours of practicing on section 1 & 2, I now notice you don't cover the two holes in the back. Well, I am completely new to this instrument and don't know any instruments in general so I guess it's to be expected when it's about me haha. Damn. Edit: Also playing using MR. Mute since I have close neighbors. Edit 2: Wow. Glad I looked up the music sheet for this song. You are supposed to cover both holes in the back. It's just not shown in the video. I thought the sound was strange without doing so haha.
I was watching a ocarina video of yours and i notice when your playing your ocarina you have some vibration in it. Could you explain how to do it to me?
For some reason I can only hit the high D by taking all my fingers off the holes including my thumbs? If I try to play it the way stated in the video it gives me a lower note. Same goes for the high C note, I have to take my left thumb off. Any advice?
Hey David I notice some of your ocarinas have the Ocarina with the two smaller holes on one side, like this one, and on others they have a small hole on each side opposing. I have the one like this video, I don't know if I need the other for certain songs or what?
I haven't met many people who have developed tinnitus from ocarina playing, but I would love to have more info available about the importance of protecting your hearing. Can you shoot me an email or DM to discuss further? My contact info is in description.
@@DavidErickRamos Thanks for responding! I really can't choose a favorite, but, their most well known songs today are probably People Are Strange, and Riders on the Storm. Those are also some of their slower songs so I think they would be translated well to an ocarina.
I have the exact same ocarina you're using from the website you recommend, and mine doesn't sound anywhere near as good as yours. Is there any reason for this?
It could be a few things: 1) Air pressure - Ocarinas are pitch bending instruments, meaning the pitch can change just by how much air you’re using, and the air requirements changes with every hole you open. Try playing along with a tuner or piano to see how much air your ocarina needs to play in tune. 2) Obstructions - if the ocarina tone is not pure, there could be something in the airway that’s blocking the airflow. Point a flashlight on the bottom side of the ocarina and look down the wind way to see if anything is blocking the airflow. 3) There could be something wrong with the ocarina, in which case, you would have to contact the maker If you can record a quick sound sample for me and send it via a Facebook or Instagram DM, I can analyze it real quick to see the issue. My email is also in my channel bio.
Uhm so about the ocarina i found i think it isn't an ocarina it sounds like the thing that sports teacher had in school they blowed in it to say it was over well it makes the exact same noise
I used a small snippet of your video in an audio reading I did recently (40:45 in the video): ruclips.net/video/-2VZUDK2e70/видео.html&ab_channel=NoOneAndNobody I did not claim any right to it, am making nothing from the video, and provided the link to your tutorial in the video description as well as pointing anyone who asks about it towards you. It was super cool to rediscover this channel. I'm glad to see you're still going strong after all this time

Anyone have tips on the note where all 12 holes are covered up? I have the song down perfectly but I can’t get the note where all are covered.

This video was so helpful
Happy to help! 🎶
I really love your tutorials !! They really help myself. Can you do a tutorial of the zelda song named Mydna's lament please ? Thank !!:)
you should make a saria's song tutorial, it would be awesome
I was watching a ocarina video of yours and i notice when your playing your ocarina you have some vibration in it.
Could you explain how to do it to me?
My only issue is that when I go to the note where you have to balance the ocarina in the 3rd section it doesn't sound correct and sounds breathy
My ocarina says it’s tuned in “c medium”. Will that work?
Bro what does that even mean
@ I have no idea i assume it’s just saying it’s not sharp or flat
Pls! champion cynthia theme On the ocarina (I haven't seen any of that on RUclips so it would be interesting to see you play)
Oh hey its the ocrina of time title theme guy :D
Thank, more tutorials please ❤
My favorite song
Good Session :)
This video is longer than it took me too learn lmao
I like your shirt, where did you get it?
Where can i buy this light blue ocarina?😍 my dark blue ocarina sounds not so good:(
For some reason I can only hit the high D by taking all my fingers off the holes including my thumbs? If I try to play it the way stated in the video it gives me a lower note. Same goes for the high C note, I have to take my left thumb off. Any advice?

I haven't met many people who have developed tinnitus from ocarina playing, but I would love to have more info available about the importance of protecting your hearing. Can you shoot me an email or DM to discuss further? My contact info is in description.
AWESOME THIS VIDEO WAS SO HELPFUL. THX FOR MAKING IT. ( IM SUBSCRIBED )

Can you play songs by The Doors on ocarina
Interesting request! I’m not super familiar with their music, any specific songs?
@@DavidErickRamos Thanks for responding!

Is it okay on a night by noble ? I’ll receive mine soon and I want to play this one so much
Yes, you can play it on a Night by Noble!
@@DavidErickRamosthe high notes on mine sound terrible…am I doing something wrong?
In the next video try playing rush e with your ocarina and see if it warps you into the next generation of songs😂🎉❤
Song starts at 9:10
How do you stop the ocarina from getting saliva in the mouthpeace then causing the notes to sound off?
Hi Eric I have a ocarina flute were can I find the zelda sheet music to play on a ocarina flute
I have some available on my Patreon page! Patreon.com/docjazz4
Gotta love how there is a TOTK item dupe glitch in this playlist
Oops, hahaha
Yo man, I've currently got a pretty bad ocarina that cannot hit high notes, and I wanted to ask where you got yours?
How do I get in touch with you? My mother is turning 73 and I need to learn from a master flute player. I have six weeks.

Can you teach us some songs from Attack on Titan and Naruto?
I 3D printed mine and High D just sound like blowing. Haha. The others sound OK.
It’s me Wally and Harvey remember at the amricano
