Hello. I'm from the Philippines. I came across your video in June 2020. Something clicked inside my head while watching it. I now have a pallet wood workbench with a tool wall. It was my first time ever to hold and use power tools. Wish I can upload a picture and show you my workbench. I'm a complete novice but I am pretty pleased with it. Can't thank you enough for this video.
have you done it yet? i’m thinking about it but i don’t have any experience with building. i just got gifted a power drill and impact driver and i’m eager to test them out
That was a very cool video. Easy to follow, logical. If you took 2 of these benches placed side by side you now have a 4 ft x 8ft long, 35" inches high very usable work bench. Add 2 heavy duty caster wheels to make bench mobile. Plus, great example of how to use JUST the pallet wood as souce to build complete pallet. The add on back shelf by inserting half of other pallet....brilliant.
My tip for getting even gaps when you're spacing slats: place another slat or small piece of wood in between the slats while you're screwing them in, then move and repeat. More reliable than measuring! Thanks for the great video 😌 these pallet videos are very inspiring. Any tips for tidying up your pallet timber when it's damaged or warped? I've collected lots of pallets lately but they're all different widths and thicknesses which makes building with them extra tricky!
Just discovered your channel. Takes a lot to impress this old guy but you did! Very clear instruction and showed it could be made with basic tools. I’m fortunate to have a number of power tools. You worked fast but not too fast and are an excellent teacher. Of course I subscribed! Many thanks!
Thanks Craig. I'm gonna give this a go as it looks simple enough for me. I made a wooden planter to get me started on my DIY again, which I really enjoy 😉
You make it look so easy, thought it would take me a couple of hours but it took me 8, probably because I wasn't using power tools. Well chuffed with the result. Thanks for a great video!
I've just made a Work bench out of a single bed frame ...and strengthened it up with pallet wood.+ a bit of 3"x 2"..It's in the attic So it's gonna be there for ever!! (everything get's dumped in MY attic (wife) and I needed a bench) so stripped off the padding revealing a 6ft x 3ft (old school no MMs in my brain), perfect size. Now all I gotta do is a lot of trips to the Corpy Dump, to give me space for MY JUNK heh heh. Great vid Craig
Nice little work bench. Thanks for showing me my first project! looks easy enough to make, and best of all, no router as I don't have one. With this, I can start making all my other home projects I needed. Thanks for this posting.
Craig can't believe I came across your channel, I know your a professional carpenter, but you make it look so simple, gives me confidence to have a go thanks
Hola! 🖐I first saw this video over a year and a half ago. I could not find you since and you popped up again today! Now I have subbed and I look forward to watching more of your content. You have a really fine way about teaching and explaining. I have a massive amount of pallet wood for taking on some projects. Take care and have a good one, Adios!👊
I was going to behave myself and not spend anything until the end of the month..you’re video had just chucked that idea out the window 😂 I only clicked on because I need a set of tools to start up my river table hobby, and these tools are so inexpensive! I wanted to see how they worked, you’ve now convinced me on my first set of tools! Great video thank you!
Thanks for sharing this, I'm looking at building a new workshop and was thinking of using Pallets to make new benches. You've given me a lot of great ideas to accomplish this.
I already got the same skeletal framework with those skids as legs so they very strong, were you marked ends I cut halfway thru then glue an screw them square as I could Have a 2x3 bit of kitchen worktop I used, with this glued then screwed at rough 45 degree into underside inside an out added metal brackets to help secure all together just finishing off now
Thanks a lot! Even I may be able to construct this workbench after your excellent, easy to understand explanation. I will definitely "subscribe" for further tips.
for the frame construction corner joins, use a speed square - measure out a perfect 90deg angle, otherwise it will come out crooked, speed sq is a life saver
Very nice video Craig. Thanks for sharing. Kindly ignore the selfish comments from others who don't appreciate what you showed us and think they know it all. Perhaps your video isn't for them and they should go elsewhere. Please continue to show us more. Many thanks.
A great simple straightforward solution, perfect for those of us with beginner skills. How are we gonna improve if we don’t make ourselves a bench and storage area?
Maybe you could show how to make desk with a center and side drawers. One with no back, short back and a tall back desk. I am building one with a tall back as a room type divider with shelves and the back can be used to hang pics, a shelf or all kinds of other things could be hung on the back. I am sure it would take a couple of videos to do all the desks.
Great video, really simple instructions. I built my workbench this weekend, with only some simple modifications! Next up your tool storage cubby! Thanks for making these videos!
@@adamjonkie5601 I added a pegboard on the back of the workbench for tool organization and also added some locking wheels in order to move the bench when necessary.
looks great will be a good shop work bench I like to work outside with lots of fresh air so i got to build a steel one the same size but with cypress wood top for weather resistant .....going to build a small tv stand lil smaller than the work bench you built for inside my new car garage ill build it out of pallets
This is awesome. Luckily, at my work we get the same exact really nice pallets every couple weeks that we throw away so I shouldn't need to do much cutting! Really excited to try this myself soon.
Thank you Craig for this ,this is a good affordable work bench, especially if you get your pallets for nothing,it,s good to see people making stuff with the minimum amount of tools . By the way did you build the bench you use to work on, if so is there going to be a video of this .thanks again
