  • In this video, I will be making a multipurpose workbench from 2 by 4 and plywood.
    All my woodworking plans gumroad.com/di...
Building this workbench has really changed the work I work in my shop. I keep two toolboxes underneath for my most used tools. Being able to hang drills and measuring tapes on the side is very handy. My favorite part is being able to store tools I want in the shop, but do not want to build a workbench for. The T-Track on the side works great for holding materials. This workbench is made from 3/4in plywood and 2by4. Get the plans here gum.co/gfKwe
    Materials List (Affiliate Links)
    • (11) - Lumber 2in. x 4in. x 8ft (Frame)
    • (2) - Plywood 3/4 in. 4ft x 8ft (Top, bottom shelf and storage)
    • (1) - 48in. T-Track (Cut in half) amzn.to/3esyvtQ

    • (38) - #8 x 3/4in. Wood screw (For brackets) amzn.to/2YsRwHj
    • (19) - 2in. x 2in. Corner Bracket (need two packs) amzn.to/3erLY5m

Subscribed BECAUSE you get to the point, and while you narrate all the way through, the information you verbalize is clear, concise, and not annoyingly redundant as with other youtubers. You actually inspire. You would have made an excellent teacher, well, hell, you ARE AN EXCELLENT TEACHER! I've tried watching other dudes instruct on how to build a work table, but I mostly cannot get through their rambling presentations as they either have no clue how to communicate, or they are maddenly hyperbolic to distraction. Your design is well thought out, your execution is precise and skillful, and it's gratifying to watch you add various touches and incorporate practical features. I watched til the end because you made it interesting.

Thanks for a great workbench idea. I should have written this a few months ago. Since I first saw this video, I have built one for my garage/shop, and three for my sister-in-law. I am starting another one today. These workbenches are solid, strong, and give me all kinds of options for using it as a workbench, or a place to store water bottles, and gas cans. The fact that it is on casters is also a BIG plus! Being able to roll it around the shop, or combine with my other workbench for a big project, makes this workbench very versatile. I even used your concept and built a 'heavy' outdoor 'heated' habitat for our community cats. The pocket hole jig that you introduced in the video sure makes a strong and solid structure. Thanks again for your creation. I would recommend anyone interested in building a solid workbench, to give your idea a try. They will not be disappointed!

Very very smart! I probably won't build one but this gives me a lot of ideas on storage and flexibility when I buy one.

Glen, you’re awesome! My father is a disabled Veteran and I didn’t get a chance to do these kinds of projects with him. Watching your channel gave me the confidence to improve that skill set and make him proud. I can’t say thank you enough. 🤘🏻

Excellent instructional video. I love the way you use modern clamps, jigs, and cordless tools to achieve old school results.

I was looking for work bench ideas and ran across this. Can’t believe the dude is just hopping up and crawling on everything to put it together, definitely my style and I’ll be snagging some of these project ideas.

Absolutely perfect pattern for lots of things I need to make: planters in front and rear garden using treated timber, workbench in large garden shed, kitchen island in house. Thanks from London, United Kingdom

The speed square support for the legs to keep them level is blowing my mind. Nice trick.

It's on my list, I'll be making my 1st serious workbench. I'm currently using a worx pegasus and a 3x4 table left behind when I moved in 27 years ago lol. I'll watch this again. It fits my criteria for my bench simple, strong with the ability to add accessories or holes or a track system.

I'm sure its been said multiple times, but that "Where I'm At" que is the most amazing idea I've ever seen. Very helpful for a novice woodworker like myself. Keep up the amazing work!

This is by far the most thoughtful instructional video I've seen on building a work bench! From the "Where I'm At" window, to filing down the corners of the aluminum track, to reinforcing the end grain on the legs for the casters... you can absolutely tell this guy KNOWS his craft. This was super helpful and I can't wait to adapt this to my garage!

I really like the "where I'm at" graphic in the upper right." It's a helpful feature that I don't see often.

Your work bench is perfect for beginners like me ! I have watched several videos on work bench building and wow ! Some are way to complicated and others way to cheap made! Yours hits right in the middle and is perfect for me! Thank You very much!

Great design. Being able to clamp down something while you work on it makes a job so much easier. Those casters are icing on the cake!

Why did you not have the bench top over hang a few inches to allow for clamping?

  • @pyro323

Sometimes people cut a shoulder in the legs to give the table more strength. This way any weight on top is supported by the shoulders instead of the screws. Love the "where I'm at" visual in your video. GOD bless! 🔨 🗜 📐 🇺🇲
