    OK, I admit there is 'Lots to Like' here because it's what I teach too lol. 1. YES get that pad of the middle finger jammed into the rim, (not the side of the middle finger!). 2. YES, get one of those 3 grips working comfy for ya: Stacked or Split or 2 fingers. 3. YES do NOT turnover your wrist....keep your hand upside down like serving a plate to someone. 4 YES start at the END of the throw. Easy does it and no walkup even. Just flick it out there to get that flat flight with no wobble thing down pat. 5 YES, lead with your elbow and 'flick' it off the middle finger last. 6 YES power comes from the flick and the easy flat throw, not the run-up and trying too hard. 7 YES the more hyzer/under the release, the more understable the disc. The more Anhyzer/over the release, the more overstable the disc so it will come back for you. YES this is a Great video.

    I just started really playing this year, and have been trying to figure out why I struggle in the (RH) forehand with understable discs where sometimes (usually when I’m trying to throw it hard) they kind of turn left and then sort of flip verticle and ‘knife’ toward the ground. It hadn’t occurred to me that I might be turning my hand over like you said, more like the throwing motion I’d use in other sports. Thanks for pointing out that potential cause for me to look at and fix!

      Your Welcome, I’ve gotten better lately at forehanding less stable discs, it definitely took some time for me, I hade to do some field practice and try throwing different disc stabilities with different angles. when I started it was always an over stable discs on an anhyzer. I bet with some practice you’ll get it down :)

      Just try and focus on getting the disc to push off the middle finger or middle finger pushing off the disc with a little pressure. Imagine your middle finger cocking back then pushing forward. Usually when people are wobbling it's mainly because of their grip and release.

    So should the wrist be straght up and down almost like you're going to slap somone? In otherwords should your thumbnail be pointed straight up towrds the sky. Naturally my wrist when throwing power grip is in this weird 3/4 state. Its like a hybrid karate chop/ slap. Could this be causing off axis torgue? When doing this motion without a disc i notice my middle finger raises up off line? Thanks

    • @DiscManiac28
      @DiscManiac28  2 месяца назад

      My thumb is more so up towards sky, but yes like slapping someone would be a good way to think about now turning your wrist over. It maybe causing off axis torque, I don’t notice my finger doing that. I would try playing around with different follow throughs and changing some angles until you find that sweet spot, I hope this helps if you want a more in depth video or have and questions you want me to make a video about let me know :)

    Leading with elbow isn't something I would have someone focus on. That's just asking them to get hurt, especially with people who aren't used to throwing forehands already. Eagle still throws 400 and doesn't involve his elbow anymore

      @DiscManiac28  10 месяцев назад +5

      Eagle is an Anomaly, I don’t wanna get people hurt they should listen to their bodies but if your wrist is in front of your elbow I don’t know how you would be able to throw it.

      @discmaniac28 saying "lead with the elbow" can definitely be dangerous as once you start consciously pushing the elbow first you can get injuries.
      You want to make sure that your hips are leading. Turning the hips first leads to a little elbow separation, where the elbow and the arm lags behind. This allows you to get good arm speed without using the wrong muscles/motions.

      I'm new to the sport, and I have hyper extended my elbow a few times with improper form. As my form is getting better, my elbow isn't hurting. I still wear an elbow brace to not aggravate it while I play

      My job is physically demanding and I got severe tennis elbow a while back. I couldn’t make a fist or turn a door nob, it was bad. it’s better now I had to take 3 months off and be on light duty, I wear it now for precautionary purposes. I don’t want it to flair back up. I’ve read it’s easier to come back up if you have had it before. That’s the reason
