My 2013 SSS has 161k miles and I still love it. No idea what I'd replace it with, it's huge fun, twisty roads are grin inducing and it's economical when not using that rev range. Utterly reliable too, seems well engineered where it matters.

I bought my 2015 Swift Sport new and got the CVT (7 speed auto/manual) and love it. I'm getting 5.6 L/100KLm after 8 years and happy with that with today's prices. Interior is good, strong and it's honest
I'm 62 and no slouch behind the wheel, the CVT has rocket quick gear changes which can really push into the torque band nicely and without doubt this is the best little car I've ever owned. Regularly serviced since new and it's an excellent town and highway car (I live in the country) and will reluctantly sell if and when it dies.

I love the swift sports. My mrs owns a 2007 sport in manual which we love! Ive owned a 2014 same as this in white and manual which i absolutely loved!.. but my dream car was the latest civic type R which, i managed to buy 1.5yrs ago and i have now sold for the latest swift sport 2021 in white and manual. Just waiting for that call to pick it up next week.. theres something about swift sports that keeps bringing me back to them i just love how zippy and agile they are as a daily car, very cheap to run and maintain, more than enough power for daily use and to give it some when u want to and, they look great from factory and even better when you throw some wheels on

    • @TheDalitis8

I also own a 2007 Swift Sport manual and it is nothing short than brilliant. But let me get this straight. You have sold your FK8 Type R, to buy a Suzuki Swift Sport? I own the aforementioned 2007 SSS and an Integra Type R DC5 which makes your case even more intriguing for me.

I’ve owned mined since 2018; had an Ignis Sport, for 10 years before that. They are a fun car that is very reliable and practical. Maintenance costs are low. You can get an extra 10-15bhp from a remap by Reidy for £300, which makes a significant difference. I’m thinking of putting Bilstein B12 or B14 suspension on mine. But, as you say, these cars provide a nice handling, ride compromise with the factory setup.

I had one in Champion Yellow and then bought the ZC33s also in Champion Yellow. I liked the ZC32s better. Our club takes these monsters NA and Turbo around the mountain passes here. Franschhoek Pass in Cape Town being our favourite early on a Saturday morning. Unless the driver is Chris Harris in a M3, these cars will comfortably sit behind a BMW, Audi, GTI etc in a mountain pass or pull away them.

Got a 66plate in blue. Best first car IMO for the UK for the young enthusiast. Cheap enough on insurance. Nice 6 speed for daily driving. Only weighs about a tonne so it’s so chuckable (backroads is it’s domain) and they are a lot quicker than you’d initially think (Never far behind a clio 197 for example and the ST150 and this is just a matter of who is the better driver as they have almost an identical power to weight)

Had my 2012 SSS since 2015. 60,000 miles and only wear and tear components to replace. (Rear shock is the only non-typical item to require replacements). Can't replace it. Economical on long journeys (46mpg +) and relatively swift (Top Gear timed theirs to < 7 secs 0-60mph back in the day), so great fun trolling more powerful cars. I also think it looks very pretty for a small hatch. (Mine is in red).
Only downside is insurance costs because the parts are expensive. I had to replace front bumper twice due to parking related accidents (luckily both drivers owned up so not on my insurance) and it was over £1200 because the bumpers are eye-watering expensive.

Great review mate, been waiting to see you review one of these for a while!
I hate to self-promote but genuinely if anyone watching is interested in investigating it further, I recently did my 2 year owner review on my 2013 Swift Sport and from the perspective of having sold it a year ago. Despite having a nicely sorted MX-5 and having owned a mapped Golf GTI, a 3.0 E46 330ci it's the Swift that holds all my best driving memories.

Extremely reliable. Short service intervals compared to modern cars at 9000 miles/12 months. Only common faults off the top of my head are gear linkages/selectors can pop off and the speedo/rev needles on the dash sometimes fail to illuminate. Along with seized rear calipers. But that's it and all are easily sorted. Mechanically they are much more reliable than anything else on the road.

A work colleague had a lowered modified swift and the ride quality was pretty bad. I bought a standard one and it was brilliant. I changed the wheels as I’m not keen on the standard wheels and that’s all. I used mine really as a second car for shopping, ferrying the kids around ect. Faultless reliability in the 2yrs I had it and cheap to run. I traded it in for a 500 abarth and sort of regret it. I’ll get another one but has to be standard.
