I appreciate so much how you talk through what you are doing and your thought process. I would love to see videos of you actually doing some of the work.

Although using heat shrink on cables provides a neat looking finish that won’t fray. It also creates a harbour for water around the nicopress sleeve thus causing corrosion and eventual failure. In Australia we have had failures due to this exact scenario!
Personally I use a second sleeve to keep the tail from fraying!

Have you ever tried marking where your cut will be, then soldering about 1/4 inch above and below the cut mark to keep the wires together? I have used that on old motorcycle or bicycle multi-strand cables. I have found it makes a fairly durable and secure cable end. I would still use the heat shrink as it will also prevent any chaffing. Loving this build, and UTAH!

It's super handy to see you tackling this WWA Highlander before I get mine. I can't wait to struggle through the process :-) I'm putting my order lists together, and curious what size shrink wraps you ended up using that fit around your nico press and the doubled wires.
