      Harry Evett sorry for nerding out on you but the last one is also very much up for debate whether it’s a gas planet or a brown dwarf. We detected it by measuring the slight dim in luminosity of its host star HD100546 when it passes through in front of the star. So we know nothing but its approximate size. Without being able to analyse its density and chemical composition, no one is able to determine if it’s a dwarf star or just a really big gas planet.

      Terry Folds notice i also put a > for the size of the planet because that is also its maximum size. The astronomers who discovered it aren't sure whether all the light was blocked by a planet or by its rings too if it has any. That's why I put rings around it in the video

    Love your videos man. You should do a quantum size comparison next where you start with like a human or something and go down to elementary particles

    • @AlexEvett55
      @AlexEvett55  6 лет назад +1

      problem with that is that most sizes below a certain value (can't remember it off the top of my head now) cannot be determined accurately, due to weird stuff that involves alot of strange numbers XD

    • @phnxen3rg666
      @phnxen3rg666 6 лет назад +1

      Harry Evett well that problem would only be with the smallest elementary particles like quarks bosons and electrons. They are though to be possibly point like and infinitely small, but the consensus for the radius of an elementary particle is that it is smaller than 0.45*10^-18 meters if you wanted to use that as your number. But for anything larger than that like protons, neutrons, different atoms, molecules, proteins, organelles, cells, bacteriums and such the size is pretty easy to look up.

    • @phnxen3rg666
      @phnxen3rg666 6 лет назад +1
