Noomi Blumquist if your here to plant seeds at least speak truth and not lies. The Trinity is another false teaching. Along with the rapture and immortal souls.
1 Peter 4:6 For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to human standards in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit.
“And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.” Matthew 27:52-53 KJV
Versus like this is why I believe everyone that has died so far is in a state of "sleep". Not in Heaven or Hell. Those determinations will occur on the Day of Judgement, aside from Christians who are taken to be with the Lord during the rapture, which obviously takes place prior.
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. And this would be why living people appeared with Christ in his glorification. There's no real indication of a sleep state mentioned in the Scriptures. We have the poor man rich man story. Whilst this could be a story that represents the future there is no indication of this. And why if asleep could he ask him to dip his finger in cold water to touch his tongue? It could be a hypothetical question from the man in hell but again this would all be conjecture. I simply take what Paul stated to be true. And if those who were resurrected at the time of Christ died then again this would break Scripture the idea of dying one time. Whether or not they were taken into heaven nobody knows. Or if they died again this would mean the verse about one death then the judgement is a general reality outside of this resurrection story.

Massa although this isn't written in plain English I think it's saying that people who are ignorant of Jesus can still be saved based on their behaviour? If that's the case then what was the point of Jesus being killed?
Nakadu God will judge people fairly, that is why the verse says their conscience will defend them. Just cause a person says they believe in Jesus is not a automatic pass to heaven Matthew 7:21
You should also point out that people didn't get into heaven before Jesus, they were in a waiting place call Abraham's bosom (Luke 16:19-31) until Jesus reopens the gates of heaven through His sacrifice.
FernandoP1 - Art Zone Productions It’s an understanding of Luke 16:22,23. The rich man was cast into hell and Lazarus was brought into Abraham’s bosom which in the context of what is being talked about; is heaven.
richardmaggio1979 no abrahams bosom was across the bottomless pit that divided the bosom and hell. Once jesus escorted everyone out of abrahams bosom (thousands of people came back to life when he resurrected) he resurrected them, and then they went to heaven and hell grew in size (crossing the bottomless pit into abrhams bosom) isaiah 5:14
Hey Frank, I think Paul in Romans 2 does a very good job of answering this question. Romans 2 "12 All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. 13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. 14 (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.) 16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares." This covers gentiles (people who never heard of or encountered Yahweh or Yeshua) and also Jews who lived before the coming of the saviour.
Galatians hits on this very well too... the promise was in Abraham. But we also know God told us in Genesis in Eden the savior was coming. Who was He for? Only Adam & Eve existed... Messiah/Jesus was for all Humans 😊
Terry Henderson Which god? The penguin god is awesome! He didn't have to make or ask for any sacrifice in order to forgive people. And he only punishes people fora short amount of time in ice hell because he actually wants people to learn from their sins. All hail the penguin god!
@@pollypockets508 hell is merely a separation from God. The only reason it is so bad there is because God isnt there to stop bad stuff from happening. A place where he doesnt exist. Not His fault people dont want to listen to Him. Its all a choice
Romans chapter 1 is a good read for this question. As well as those who followed after Noah, as those generations knew of The Flood but still went their merry way. Incidently, The Flood story is known by various people groups not only in the Middle East, but Maori, North American natives, Australian Aboriginals, ancient Chinese and many others. So post Babel, people took the story of The Flood with them so that people knew of The Creators righteousness, though same details changes with time and isolations as did the reason for The Flood.
I personally don't think that it was the spreading of the story that caused such a popularity of flood stories, but rather- was is now only beginning to be discovered- that it seems as if there really was a massive flood, for which geology gives convincing evidence, covering all the earth, leading to all these different cultures knowing about it.

The real deception is that God let evil be exposed to someone who had never known what evil was, and then punished them for something he had hardly prepared them for.
@@Vaioplayer88 You got it all wrong my friend. I'm no bible expert but I will explain the best I can. God said not to eat the fruit of good and evil. And yes God let the devil come to Adam and Eve as a test of their faithfulness to God. And yes Adam and Eve did know Right and Wrong is because if they didn't how could they know what God instructed them. If they didn't know what good and evil were than of course they would of eaten the fruit and that would be unfair by God because they wouldnt of understood his command. And God created them with this understanding or else why would God instruct them to follow his rules if they didn't know what good and evil is. And so Adam and Eve ate the fruit when they knew they shouldn't have. God can't stand sin he hates sin, and he's to Holy to let sin go unpunished, so God kicked them out and sin is now the downfall of this world.

Also, believers in God didn't go to Heaven before Jesus; their spirits went to a resting place called Abraham's bosom - or Sheol. Only after Christ's death and resurrection did believers transfer straight to Heaven, thanks to Jesus sacrifice.
Jesus talked to the "spirits in prison" for 3 days following his death on the cross. These were Old Covenant saints, and he transferred all of them to Heaven and conquered the grave for us; so that now when we die, our souls are directly taken by angels to Jesus in heaven.
Great explanation, this is something I wondered about. When I got older I wondered about the ancient pagans like those of Greece and Egypt. This to me gives hope for those who lived before Jesus. This also gives hope to those who don't believe in him like Buddhists, Atheists, Agnostics, etc. I think that anyone, no matter what faith "or no faith" can be saved.
The retroactive part has only been true for those who were following Yahweh, or even before that- El- but it's definitely not true for pagan religious believers. How did you come to that conclusion?
You mean like people born into those religions that don't know about Jesus? If you know of Jessus today and openly reject him as Buddhist, atheist, agnostic then there's no way you're going to be with him after the second coming. Think about what you're saying.; "This also gives hope to those who don't believe in him like Buddhists, Atheists, Agnostics, etc." Hell is the separation from GOD. If you openly reject GOD, he isn't going to force you to be with him. Athiststs openly reject GOD, why would he force them in his presence?
They don't reject god as god has never shown himself or let himself be heard, they reject lying man's word that God is real. Would you believe me if I said God wasn't real? So why believe man that is long dead that God is real? Fool
By faith - By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in godly fear built an ark to save his family. By faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, without knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the promised land as a stranger in a foreign country. He lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. {For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.} By faith Sarah, even though she was barren and beyond the proper age, was enabled to conceive a child, because she considered Him faithful who had promised. And so from one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore. All these people died in faith, without having received the things they were promised. However, they saw them and welcomed them from afar. And they acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. Now those who say such things show that they are seeking a country of their own. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return.
People placed their faith in Christ before He came. Eve was the first convert, Gen 3:15. The OT patriarchs and profit's looked forward. Adam was created in God's image. Had the law written on his heart. Was responsible for teaching his children God's ways. Gain rejected God and walked away. Fast forward to Noah, he was a righteous man, but his son was not, not were all of grand children, thus, they went their own ways. If you rejected God's promises in Christ, you were lost back then, even.
I think I read in the book of Acts or a Pauline letter that the law of Moses was read everywhere in every city. Also I know Paul mentioned that those without the law where a law unto themselves following the Moral built in concience. (Safeguarding until Christ came that is)
It has always been salvation by faith in God because people have never been perfect. Genuine faith leads us to follow God and be obedient to his commands
Hmmm. He could've gave a more satisfying and biblically accurate answer. Paul spoke of the very same topic:); "14.For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 15.Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)". So God will judge them based on their conscience. No doubt he spoke to their hearts. Romans 2: 14-15 kjv
He already says God is just and won't be unfair, he gave a biblical answer, he spoke of Abraham hearing it through trust in yahweh, he spoke of malchizedek, and he also covered that, without just quoting the bible word for word. He used the bible and logic, this is a q and a, at a college campus. Not Sunday service, you can't just answer everything with a bible verse alone, cause many don't even believe in it to begin with.
I will answer this question Jesus after he died on the Cross ✝️ he went down to hades and preached out to the dead and told them who he is and who ever is willing to follow him they free to do so and there sins will be forgiven that’s what he did those three days so like this who ever may died before Christ will be tread fair as the ones who died after Christ will be saved same fair way 🙏
question so did people know right from wrong before Jesus died and why did Jesus come to die its it so we can go to heaven with him and be free from sin so were the people not free from.sin before Jesus came
Glad we have the example of Abraham to clear this up - So sad that not everyone understands the role of faith staying consistent throughout the Old and New Testaments. I have addressed this on my channel as well. Genesis 15:6 Is pretty clear "Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness" - I also dealt with this question on my channel.
This is what happens to your logic if you're fed religion from birth. Leave children alone until they have critical thinking skills and religion would die.
The same way people are saved after he died... Christ always was and always will be. The event itself took place in Eternity, not simply a relative speck of time. By faith in the Promise we are saved. The promise stood before the appointed moment and it stands forever and ever. Yay!
It should be noted that righteousness before the Messiah is the same as after the Messiah became flesh and arrive the first time, and that is through obedience to the Creator by keeping, hearing and doing what He commanded. If the only way to define faith is by trust and not doing anything beyond, then the Messiah gave a parable about the fig tree that didn’t bear any fruit and what would happen to it.
1 peter 4:6 for this cause was the good news preached even to those who have died- so that although their bodies were punished with death, they could still live in the spirit as God does.
Who wants someone to be sacrificed for them? I don't, that's for sure. The idea is to make you feel guilty and that you owe God something. We are so terrible before we are even born that someone had to die and not to acknowledge or believe in it is also so terrible that we must go to hell for a sacrifice that none of us asked for. The whole thing is such a monumentally dirty belief system. Fortunately, as Steve pointed out, its completely fabricated...thank God.
+Heath Wells we're not rejecting it because we don't believe it was what you think it was. it's most likely all stories and metaphors, though quite likely that a good man existed called Jesus. I certainly reject the immorality of Christianity; eternal torture for reasonable people.
Michael Brent. You absolutely are rejecting Jesus. He is the one who made the claims. This is not about me as you are trying to divert. It is about Jesus. You have to make one of three decisions about Jesus. He was either a liar, a lunatic, or who he said he was; Savior, Lord God, Creator. You personally are allowed by his grace to make the decision. Keep in mind, the Jews were very clear on what his claims were. That is why they sought to kill him. Also keep in mind it was also the intent of the devil to condemn him. But with evil intent God used their sin to fulfill the prophecy that you have chosen to reject. It’s simple even if you won’t. Admit it. You are either siding with the devil or siding with the Savior of the World, Jesus. Only two choices. Our opinions do not matter and hold no bearing on the words of Jesus Christ.
Read Galatians 3:8 and then read Galatians 3:6-16. The gospel simply means good news, that being said note that there are various aspects of the gospel. We have the gospel of Christ, the gospel of the resurrection, the gospel of the kingdom etc. The gospel preached to Abraham was the righteousness of God given to Abraham and to his seed, who are those who walk in the faith of Abraham. Abraham believed God and it was imputed to him for righteousness and in the same way righteousness shall be imputed to all who have the faith of Abraham. That is the gospel, that is good news. Righteousness or justification is absolutely necessary in order to inherit eternal life. The just shall live by faith. Grace and Peace.
" Abraham was not a Jew, nor a Christian; but he was one pure of faith and Muslim (who submitted to God with a sound heart). He was never of those who associate partners with God."(quran chapter 3 verse 67)
Your reply doesn't add anything to your claim or refute my statement. Mormons are just as sincere in their belief. The question for all is what authenticates the word you rely upon.
truth seeker, hi Quran chapter 3 v 67 is living proof that the author of Quran didn't understand the Bible properly and confused it with Arab polytheism(most probably) when the OT prophets as well as NT disciples of Jesus believed that God is one. Jesus himself said: I and [my] Father are one. (John 10:30, KJV) Does that sound polytheistic as Mohammed assumed it to be? It it is merely a difference in understanding the nature of the one God. Speaking of Jesus this is what Paul said: He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, (Hebrews 1:3, ESV)
Frank, do you believe in the Christian orthodox belief that Christ descended into hades and save the saints of the Old Testament who had faith in God when receiving the message of the coming saviour?

I have a question on a different topic other than the one you are talking about in this video! A man I know claims that where it says in the New Testament Testament, all scripture is given by the inspiration of God that it was talking about The old testament, and not the New Testament! What would you say about this?
Actually, it seems harder to me to comprehend how Jesus paid our sin debt before we committed the sins than that he paid for BC believers after they sinned. In the OT sacrificial system, the sacrifice offering was made after the sin. So Jesus paying for believer's sins after they did them makes sense. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ came at a moment in time, but it transcends time.
Abraham’s Bosom was the place they were waiting for Jesus. And when Peter says in Acts 2:31 “He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell (not of the condemned), neither his flesh did see corruption.” That means Jesus descended to this “place” and bring those souls up to Heaven.
You forgot to mention paul's word that God will judge us according to the laws written in out our heart. In the gospel of john chapter 15 jesus said that they would have not sin if he had not spoken now he had spoken thier sin remained
A shame that he did not clarify whether it follows from his position that Jn 14:6 has an exception, or must somehow otherwise be explained than in the very black-and-white way many interpret the verse.
Would it be possible to say that since all mankind has a common origin in Adam, those coming from and after Adam would have been informed about God from the beginning of humanity? So,in a sense, all of mankind would have had an awareness/ handed down knowledge of God, but drifted from Him.
Can someone show me where in the Old Testament it says that say the Messiah will die for the sins of the world... that say the messiah will die and be raised after 3 day and 3 nights... that say that say you will have to believe in messiah to be saved....
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8 This text is for both Old and New Testaments.
Now you are saved by believing Jesus is the son of God and is Lord. He's forgiven everyone already but you need to believe he's your saviour and Lord to recieve the forgiveness.
Failing to answer, this happens usually when it comes to this point, no matter how I respect Turek and watch him, he fails to conceive the power of the Gospel. The Gospel was preached to the dead, and this is in 1Peter epistle 3-4 chapters. Cause we have to understand that the Lord went to the dead, and since he preached means that these entities surely had still the right of choice. We need to see that Peter, while makes a reference to Noah's world, ends up on the 4th chapter with a reference on dead people in general. This topic is probably the solution to many questions accordingly to how the world will be judged, and it is more than clear that the Gospel of Jesus will judge the world. So, are we proposing that there can be one, who may enter into the kingdom without Jesus? Is that justice? Is that what we ve been telling to people all these years? Frank Turek, have a look at it please.
“For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God. He was put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, in which he also went and made proclamation to the spirits in prison who in the past were disobedient, when God patiently waited in the days of Noah while the ark was being prepared. In it a few - that is, eight people - were saved through water.” 1 Peter 3:18-20 CSB
If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about--but not before God. What does Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness." Romans 4:2-3
Remember what Paul said about the (Gentiles)= or us. We were without God; alienated from the commonwealth of Israel; without hope. But in Christ Jesus's death has brought us into a covenant with God.
Blood of lamb,ox was used to cleanse the sin of a individual, a group and nation...meaning: their sin was put up on the lamb by placing the hand of the priest over the lamb's head and killed.
It's most likely that if any aren't told about the gospel or even the old testament law we'd be judged by the law written on our hearts... the conscience
I know of a king who after Daniel was delivered from the lions den said I will follow the God of Daniel and maybe after he was made a beast of the field and ate the grass and the dew fell on him after he lifted himself to high and mighty and God had to show him who was God. The word that Israel was delivered from Egypt was well known in the lands that they later conquered and people was in fear of their God so people knew of the One True God in the O/T
The same way its ALWAYS been. REPENTANCE. The ONLY propiation for sins. No one died to pay your sin debt. If so that person would still be dead. There is none without NO NOT ONE!!!
Since God is outside of time, the salvation through the resurrection applies both past and future. So people before Jesus could be forgiven by repenting from their sins even if they didn't necessarily know the name, Jesus, take Saul, for example, God gave him time to turn away from his sins but he never did and even David was able to apologize to God and be cleansed. So when we say God is omnipresence, it means both he is everywhere at the same time and he can both in the past and in the future at the same time, he is not limited to anything.
The bible says Melchizadek was in Hebrews 7:3. Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever.
Ezekiel 18:20 The one who sins is the one who will die. The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them.

Romans 2:14-16
For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
Massa this is the clearest answer. I even thought he gonna talk about it
Massa, you cannot use the Bible to prove the Bible is true!!
Michael Madison
Um, I'm not. This is one of the answers for a question about Christianity.
The Bible is true because Jesus existed. :)
Massa although this isn't written in plain English I think it's saying that people who are ignorant of Jesus can still be saved based on their behaviour? If that's the case then what was the point of Jesus being killed?
Nakadu God will judge people fairly, that is
why the verse says their conscience will defend them.
Abrahams Bosom was another way of saying the kingdom of heaven.
@Ofa Manu -According to what passage?
FernandoP1 - Art Zone Productions
It’s an understanding of Luke 16:22,23.
Rusty Blade
That’s a stretch bro. Not contextually correct.
Love your teachings
You should follow Jesus, not him.
15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.) 16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares."
This covers gentiles (people who never heard of or encountered Yahweh or Yeshua) and also Jews who lived before the coming of the saviour.
This is the Exact Answer. God Bless You My Friend
honest question, would that mean they were saved by their obedience to the law that is in their heart?
Amen. It’s in Romans 2, not 3 though. In case anyone couldn’t find it. Thank you for this. I forgot about it and needed the answer just now. God bless
@@Zerael071 thanks for that, I've made the correction.
Galatians hits on this very well too... the promise was in Abraham. But we also know God told us in Genesis in Eden the savior was coming. Who was He for? Only Adam & Eve existed... Messiah/Jesus was for all Humans 😊
God is Good
No way you'd say that if you actually read the bible.
Hell is a place absent of God and the reason why people go to hell is because they didnt want God or they would listen to Him here on earth so God is giving everyone that doesnt want Him exactly what they want. A place where he doesnt exist. Not His fault people dont want to listen to Him. Its all a choice

Nope
Maori didn’t arrive in New Zealand until after 1000 AD
@@legoyodagaming5051 ....correct. They carried on the flood story from their ancestors.
The answer has been faith and God’s Grace in every era.
It's all in Hebrews
Well since He literally walked & talked with Adam & Eve, cursed Cain for murder, I think God was active to ppl & scripture shows that.
Of course he was, he just happened to be away when lucifer was in the garden with adam and eve.
@@Vaioplayer88 no He wasn’t. He was fully aware of it. He told Adam and Eve what to do, and they rejected His command and ate the fruit of the forbidden tree. Remember, He gave us free will. He gave Adam and Eve that choice. If they didn’t have a choice then they, and by extension us, would all be slaves.
@@Vaioplayer88 Nope. God is everywhere, he is omnipresent. He's on all 7 continents at the same time. God is also omniscience and knows everything so he knows Adam and Eve would sin. Adam and Eve sinned and rejected Gods command and thus were kicked out of The Garden of Eden
@@ibrahimalowonle9106 Ryan Burgess. Was there knowledge of sin prior to eating the apple? Did they know what good and evil was before that? Did they know what or who the devil was? God left them alone with, or by your explanation, let them be exposed to the devil with no warning. Eve even put up a defense at first.
By grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
Ezekiel 18
21 “But if a wicked person turns away from all the sins they have committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, that person will surely live; they will not die. 22 None of the offenses they have committed will be remembered against them. Because of the righteous things they have done, they will live. 23 Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live
Edward Arnold thank you ❤️
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children
And I will strike down upon thee
With great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord, when I lay my vengeance upon thee
Also, believers in God didn't go to Heaven before Jesus; their spirits went to a resting place called Abraham's bosom - or Sheol.
Only after Christ's death and resurrection did believers transfer straight to Heaven, thanks to Jesus sacrifice.
Joshua B ha ha ha they dudnt know who jesus was u donkey brain so how are they going to be saved if they didnt believe in him
Jesus talked to the "spirits in prison" for 3 days following his death on the cross. These were Old Covenant saints, and he transferred all of them to Heaven and conquered the grave for us; so that now when we die, our souls are directly taken by angels to Jesus in heaven.
Excellent!!!
Spot on!!
@@bradleywelch9290 true friend.
They don't reject god as god has never shown himself or let himself be heard, they reject lying man's word that God is real. Would you believe me if I said God wasn't real? So why believe man that is long dead that God is real? Fool
By faith - By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in godly fear built an ark to save his family. By faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, without knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the promised land as a stranger in a foreign country. He lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. {For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.}
By faith Sarah, even though she was barren and beyond the proper age, was enabled to conceive a child, because she considered Him faithful who had promised.
Fantastic
Romans 4 and Galatians 3 answers that, by faith.
Yes and the earth is flat and is the centre of the universe.....4.5 billion years of evolution is merely a rumour to some of you...
Jews had to obey the OT law and do works in order to go Abraham's Bosom before the time of Jesus Christ's blood atonement.
the gospel was preached to Abraham beforehand. "trust in God for your salvation" - They knew a redeemer was coming. Galatians 3:8
Hmmm. He could've gave a more satisfying and biblically accurate answer. Paul spoke of the very same topic:);
"14.For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15.Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)".
I will answer this question
Jesus after he died on the Cross ✝️ he went down to hades and preached out to the dead and told them who he is and who ever is willing to follow him they free to do so and there sins will be forgiven that’s what he did those three days so like this who ever may died before Christ will be tread fair as the ones who died after Christ
will be saved same fair way 🙏
question so did people know right from wrong before Jesus died and why did Jesus come to die its it so we can go to heaven with him and be free from sin so were the people not free from.sin before Jesus came
Glad we have the example of Abraham to clear this up - So sad that not everyone understands the role of faith staying consistent throughout the Old and New Testaments. I have addressed this on my channel as well. Genesis 15:6 Is pretty clear "Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness" - I also dealt with this question on my channel.
Merci

It should be noted that righteousness before the Messiah is the same as after the Messiah became flesh and arrive the first time, and that is through obedience to the Creator by keeping, hearing and doing what He commanded. If the only way to define faith is by trust and not doing anything beyond, then the Messiah gave a parable about the fig tree that didn’t bear any fruit and what would happen to it.
This was my question.
Wow this is insane, they even talk about this, as if they really know, great
That answer was less than satisfying.
1 peter 4:6 for this cause was the good news preached even to those who have died- so that although their bodies were punished with death, they could still live in the spirit as God does.

Steve Hardy nah, there's too much evidence. You have to know where and how to look - exploring past the blinders set by the mainstream.
Steve Hardy. So you are rejecting Jesus Christ and his sacrifice on the cross?
Does anyone know where in the New testament Paul talks about this gospel being told to Abraham? I'd like to read it.

Yeah, let's believe something written 2000 years later that reverses what God already revealed to man. Maybe Abraham was a Mormon too.
muslim means who submits his will to god...if u had any knowledge of Arabic u wouldn't have said it
Your reply doesn't add anything to your claim or refute my statement. Mormons are just as sincere in their belief. The question for all is what authenticates the word you rely upon.
are u asking me why i believe in quran as a revelation of god?
truth seeker, hi
Quran chapter 3 v 67 is living proof that the author of Quran didn't understand the Bible properly and confused it with Arab polytheism(most probably) when the OT prophets as well as NT disciples of Jesus believed that God is one. Jesus himself said: I and [my] Father are one. (John 10:30, KJV)
Does that sound polytheistic as Mohammed assumed it to be? It it is merely a difference in understanding the nature of the one God.
Speaking of Jesus this is what Paul said:
He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, (Hebrews 1:3, ESV)
Yes, they did. They had to work for it. Now, we are in grace.
Frank, do you believe in the Christian orthodox belief that Christ descended into hades and save the saints of the Old Testament who had faith in God when receiving the message of the coming saviour?
No.
The Quran answers the above question: Chapter 4:163-165 (note the We is the royal We, does not signify plurality, rather Allah is absolutely One):

Actually, it seems harder to me to comprehend how Jesus paid our sin debt before we committed the sins than that he paid for BC believers after they sinned. In the OT sacrificial system, the sacrifice offering was made after the sin. So Jesus paying for believer's sins after they did them makes sense. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ came at a moment in time, but it transcends time.
Faith & works
Just make it UP as you go ALONG!

It's simple to me.. they looked forward to the promise of God for redemption we look back to the promise of God by redemption.
By faith.
It's always been by faith
Then what abt the ones who were before abraham?
A shame that he did not clarify whether it follows from his position that Jn 14:6 has an exception, or must somehow otherwise be explained than in the very black-and-white way many interpret the verse.
Would it be possible to say that since all mankind has a common origin in Adam, those coming from and after Adam would have been informed about God from the beginning of humanity? So,in a sense, all of mankind would have had an awareness/ handed down knowledge of God, but drifted from Him.
Can someone show me where in the Old Testament it says
that say the Messiah will die for the sins of the world...
that say the messiah will die and be raised after 3 day and 3 nights...
that say that say you will have to believe in messiah to be saved....
@michaelrhodes1981 Isaiah has 66 chapters. Please be a little more specific
Christians always have an answer no matter how unbelievable it is
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8 This text is for both Old and New Testaments.
Justified by faith
In it a few - that is, eight people - were saved through water.”
1 Peter 3:18-20 CSB
If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about--but not before God. What does Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness." Romans 4:2-3
Genesis 4:26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.
yes who was melkezdec
Remember what Paul said about the (Gentiles)= or us. We were without God; alienated from the commonwealth of Israel; without hope. But in Christ Jesus's death has brought us into a covenant with God.
He totally made that up. The millennium is when those before Jesus will learn the truth.
Who preached to Abraham?
Blood of lamb,ox was used to cleanse the sin of a individual, a group and nation...meaning: their sin was put up on the lamb by placing the hand of the priest over the lamb's head and killed.
And do you actually believe that?
I wonder about people who lived far away and didn't hear about Jesus until way later. I would suspect it is the same.
When Jesus died he freed those who had died before he Christ came.
It's most likely that if any aren't told about the gospel or even the old testament law we'd be judged by the law written on our hearts... the conscience
And we are not even able to obey the morals written in our hearts, so yeah we need Jesus only
I know of a king who after Daniel was delivered from the lions den said I will follow the God of Daniel and maybe after he was made a beast of the field and ate the grass and the dew fell on him after he lifted himself to high and mighty and God had to show him who was God.
What was before jesus?
In what sense?
Was there life after death Before
Honestly the answer to the question not enough of justification for me.Regardless,i respect this man from day one i saw his video on youtube.
Retroactive??? WHERE in the Bible does it say that the people who were alive before Jesus was born would be saved retroactively?
The bible says Melchizadek was in Hebrews 7:3. Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever.
NICE!!!
What did Jesus do where between his death and his resurrection? Hint: Hades.
Ezekiel 18:20
The one who sins is the one who will die. The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them.
Scripture states that Christ is The lamb slain from the foundation of The world, therefore for all the sins of mankind whatever time scale ; Our forefathers saw the promise from afar off and decided whether or not to believe it :
If one could simply put their trust in YHWH in order to be saved, then what was the point of Jesus coming? Why didn't the Israelites evangelize for YHWH if this was the case?
Most Jews rejected Jesus, so he became a saviour to the Gentiles, God still weeps over the Israelites, waiting for their return to Him.
