Whao! No amount of words are enough to express gratitude for this magnificent upload man. What a cinematic gem! Louisiana is like a beautiful canvas! Why did Hollywood ever turn away from these - and found the superheroes..
Two Tarzans, probably the two best Tarzans acting in the same movie. WOW!!!!! Johnny Weissmuler --- Tarzan, Jungle Jim, and an Olympic gold medalist several times. Buster Crabbe --- Tarzan, Flash Gordon, and Captain Gallant of the Foreign Legion, and also an Olympic gold medalist.
My brother and i were goofy kids in albuquerque new mexico and johnny had a swimming pool company on Wyoming boulevard on the way to the airforce base. One day we screwed up the courage to ride our bicycles over and see if we could find him. I am 70 and we were probably 10 and 11 years old, and this dude was there and he humored my brother and myself and must have spent 15 minutes talking to us.sitting beside a swimming pool. I don't remember what we talked about, but his image in a light blue checked shirt and kaki shorts smoking a cammel non filter remains with me today. i always thought he was a beautiful man and all i remember was mostly that he paid attention to us like we were important to him.
I wholeheartedly agree with you. It's just a shame that there are no Tarzan movies starring Johnny Weissmuller on youtube.....at least none that I've found so far.
Wow two Tarzans facing each other in the one movie.! Buster was a great Tarzan in his young days, and Johnny Weissmuller followed him later in that role. But the irony of them both in the one movie, and opposed to each other : , How Sweet!!?? ; And one even fights an alligator!!! Oh Sweet Irony!!
Stars: Johnny Weissmuller, Virginia Grey, Buster Crabbe Director: William H. Pine Weissmuller and Crabbe bring you a new kind of action thrills in this drama of the lawless Delta country! Death Lurks Beneath The Burning Bayou...as Mighty Water Kings Clash.
One of my closest friends Pete Nelson (Pistol Pete) he was related to Johnny Weissmuller Johnny was his uncle. Not only the best Tarzan he started the original TARZAN call or yell he was a Gold Metal Olympic weight lifter way before Arnold Schwarzenegger. He was a king of the Jungle in the mind of us kids and the phrase yes wanna came from him.RIP Tarzan may you have a giant tree swing and Jane to tend your fire and cheetah to keep you company. You left a great legacy for us all to enjoy and dream of the dark Jungle. When I saw the natives tear people apart as a kid in his movie, it scared the crap out of me.But that was a Hollywood fairy tale no native ever did that. Some might of cooked you in a large pot but nothing like the great tree splitter ever happened the natives were never that savage as Hollywood portrayed it was all for affect. As kids we saw Africa through the eyes of Tarzan maybe the first one to protect the wild life the wilderness and its native people today we could all learn a lesson in that and the first guy to fight a Gator. We also made a giant tree swing as kids and every day after we took turns for a brief moment in time we too could swing 60 to 80' through the air from a 150' tree and tree house a giant cotton wood tree 25 ' thick one was hit bye lighting and leaned at a 48 degree angle were one older kid took the rope to make the biggest tree swing I ever saw I would need a crane to match it to day the tree house was so high one kid was killed who fell from it but it didn't stop us from the adrenaline rush we got from that swing one of my fondest things from my childhood if our parents ever saw what we had made they would of put a stop to it for sure. I. or my friends will never forget the pleasure of your first jump off a giant 25 foot stump we had to climb to reach the rope to make your first jump I wasn't tall enough to reach the rope so I had to stand on a bucket to reach it on top of the giant stump until I was tall enough. Some one had to throw it up to you with a smaller tag line the younger kids used the tag line my little brother was the first kid I saw make the jump from the tree house again the height of the tree house killed one kid but Ron had the guts to do it. I wish I had photos but we will never forget your range of swing was well over 180' in all as you would jump out to your right side was best. you would go out over a mud hole in the edge of a wheat field on day the rope broke at the out ward thrust of my swing and it shot me waste deep into the mud I needed help getting pulled out could not do it on my Owen. I had to was my new school pants in a dirty creek and dry them over a fire it was cold so we went to a straw hut we had made to keep warm, but when I came back one leg had burned of my pants so I made cut offs I all most got caught my mom said you kids smell like smoke? Boy that was a close call they never knew? It was in the 1960s and a awesome place to grow up.
😎🙄😃. GOOD MOVIE CLASSIC. BUSTER CRAB. WAS. TARZAN IN1930SL IN A LEOPARD SKIN. J.W.WAS. OLYMPIC SWIMMER. MEDAL WINNER. FILM HISTORIAN AND CEO.PRESIDENT FOUNDER. OF. ..GREAT AMERICA FILM BUFFS ENJOY. GOD BLESS AMERICA.
Ok- swamps don't really burn because they're- well- SWAMPS- loaded with wetlands... California burns but when was the last time you heard of the Atchafalaya burning? And~ so ironic to see the two best known Tarzan actors fighting each other in the water! Whatta movie!
Ok PF. Weissmuller a bit flat. I believe what we had there was Tarzan vs Tarzan, they both played the roll but looked like Crabbe only once. Virginia Grey a real screen presence and great beauty, almost out of place there. Interesting to see Buster as a bad guy and did it very well. He also has a strong screen presence. May the Slush be with you...that would be the famous Richie's Slush from Revere MA. See if we get any hits on that remark.
Maybe the big studios weren't sending him any offers. Thank God you had small independent studios to keep their careers alive. Weissmuller was at least able to keep his career going with the Jungle Jim series. Hollywood is fickle.
Buster crab was a fine actor and he acted all the way up to the 70s and 1970s thank he was in the series buck Rogers one of those sci-fi series both guys played Tarzan I think racing I honestly believe Buster crab cut out swim in Johnny Wise Miller
Oh Johnny can woop em all gators, snakes, hippos , Nazis, cannibal tribes, bad men with guns and much more. Lol They just don’t make them like this anymore!!!😎✌🏼
Making a film requires 3 things a good script a good director and quality actors. A bad script or bad directing makes the best actors look bad. Just my opinion but I think an Alfred Hitchcock could even have Marilyn M doing a good job acting.
Wouldn't the feminists have a ball with this flick if it came out today, he gave her a little rough stuff on the bridge and she dug it. makes me yearn for the old days.
that the introduction they said buster Crabbe starring that's not buster Crabbe that's Johnny wise Miller Tarzan if I ever seen he messed that one up haha I guess he's entitled.
Love Johnny Weissmuller, my favorite Tarzan, and grew up in Fla in the 60's and am currently in New Orleans. So great to see these scenes!!!!!!

Buster Crabbe starred in The French Foreign Legion and was silent in Tarzan the Fearless.

I always thought Buster Crabbe was a good Actor. He should've auditioned for better roles!!
Buster Crabbe : Tarzan, Buck Rogers, Flash Gordon. He played all of them.
Glad to see him in a movie role.
