    I’m 72 yo from aledo illinois and have struggled with my hit hard swing for a few years now, I have tried the straight arm no hands swing of Saguto gold and still struggle. I played on Thursday and struggled to shoot 86, then Thursday night I came on your you tube videos about easiest golf swing for seniors and watch a couple lessons and then went to the garage to practice the effortless swing. Then on Friday I went golfing with the attitude of don’t try to hit the ball hard just swing the club and let the ball get in the way, it worked better than I thought it would, I finished with a nice 79 and could have been better but I reverted to my old swing on one tee and end up with a double bogey after hooking my drive out of bounds. Thank you very much for all you are teaching, my day was much more relaxed and no pain in my swing, I look forward to playing again on Monday.

      I’m a 70 yr old new golfer and my left shoulder is worn to the bone. It was suggested I replace it surgically. I’m hesitant. However, I just came across your le danse technique and it looks like I can do this with little strain and pain afterwards. I’m so conscious of restricting my back swing that I cannot get lift or proper contact. This LOOKS like the perfect solution. Thank you. Of all the vids I’ve watched, yours seems directed solely at relaxation BEFORE ball striking. 👍🏻

    I tried this yesterday during my round. I got WAY more distance with my driver without effort. I blocked a few to the right though. I focussed on saying in my head ‘turn, Turn’ to make sure I made a good turn going back and then through. Other times i said ‘one, two’. I tried it with chipping as well and holed out once. I can’t believe its taken me so long as a 61 yo to discover this. Crazy. I feel that I’ve dabbled in everything before now. This works. I’m currently putting well so not trying to incorporate the dance into my putting for now. You are doing senior golfers like me a WONDERFUL Service. Thank you.

    Many thanks for video 👍
    Question, as regards the swing….
    When showing the ‘dance” in various videos you are standing upright and moving
    from the left leg to the right leg and back. (Good 👍)
    However when in the golf stance an individual his going to have the shoulders at
    an incline depending on the club.
    Should that tilt not be maintained on the backswing ?
    If you turn the shoulders level, a mistake could be to stand up level and take the club
    outside and cause all sorts of issues.
    Your slow motion videos seem to show the tilt maintained 🤔
    Again, appreciate all your efforts and great videos.

      You're welcome Zacgolf! Great question. Think of La Danse du Golf as a template for your Easiest Swing. It is used to build awareness of a good golf swing movement, incorporating the 6 Basics. Exactly as you point out, during a real golf swing the spine angle required for the shot and as dictated by the club is maintained throughout the swing, returning to an upright, balanced finish position. Hope this helps.

      Hey Simon, great job with implementing Easiest Swing into your game. With a little practice you should see the yards not only come back but increase beyond expectation. Relaxing is key here. Swing plane will change from club to club, longer clubs will be flatter, shorter clubs steeper, but generally a comfortable position that feels natural to you is best. Better to place your focus on the finish! But we'll plan to create a video on this in the future 👍

    Do both of the arms equally control the club in the down swing or does each arm have their own things that they do? I am lefthanded so my left arm wants to control the direction of the ball strike while the right arm helps guide the club. How does this work? What ever works, let it do it. I am usually go left of target and then later it goes right of target. I am confused to what to do. I have practiced using left arm only, in practice and then using the right arm only, in practice. Right has improved quite a lot but not like the left does, of course. I would practice where left arm is in control and have had some good shots, straight and far.

    An observation on how this differs from what I see taught is the co-ordination between the trunk (torso) and the hips. Rather than trying to get the hips to 'lead' this is turning the hips and the body at the same time. Simplifies the swing quite a bit and I will start trying the movement and see if it helps any.

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  Год назад

      Yes great observation! It simplifies the swing and allows you to focus on swinging to the target rather than breaking the swing down into pieces. Don’t forget, the head also turns to the target. In fact, I find, by turning my head first my other body parts respond naturally. As an added benefit, by diverting your attention away from body positions, you increase your awareness of the club head. Therefore increasing your feel and engaging your natural talent/ability. Hope you make some discoveries for yourself while trying it out 👍

      Great question James, taller golfers can often struggle with a steeper backswing due to having to bend over more, especially for the shorter irons. You are right, a more upright posture does allow for a flatter swing plane, which for most golfers will improve their angle of attack. No two golfers are the same of course and Easiest Swing is about finding your natural best swing. Or as Brian would put, your 'authentic' swing 😊

    • @warrenwood1350
      @warrenwood1350 Год назад

      @@philipsparks8315 I’m 6’1” so not particularly tall. And no, I don’t use extended clubs. Irrespective, I’m just struggling to maintain balance once tipped over into golfing posture, and further struggling to keep my arms connected to the turn. Both are very easy to achieve when standing upright but we obviously don’t hit the ball standing upright. This far the only way I can retain the feel of La Danse is to (a) stick my rear end out and setup more into my heels to balance me (b) add more knee flex to stay more upright whilst reaching for the ball and (c) shorten my backswing arm length to stay more connected. Maybe that’s the answer.
      I was just interested to learn if any “feels” or drills that you may have designed over the years to help migrate La Danse from an upright posture into a golfing posture.

    • @philipsparks8315
      @philipsparks8315 Год назад

      @@warrenwood1350
      Ok Warren I have a couple of thoughts which will hopefully help. The first is that at 6’1” you are likely to need at least a little extension to your clubs especially those short irons where the body tilt gets greater for many years I played with 1” longer but after a back op which restricted my tilt I switched to 2” longer. Peter is 6’5” and uses 2.5” longer he recently switched from 1” longer due to issues of maintaining spine angle and it has made a massive difference. At your height I’d suggest experimenting with 1” longer and maybe even start with just your 7 iron to see how it goes. Worth going to a really good club fitter who will help marry the club to your best spine angle. Secondly, practice La Danse du Golf in the upright position and then add a small amount of spinal tilt and then gradually increase this looking to keep the move as well as your balance. In golf the spine angle changes from club to club and for different lies so leading to be adaptive is important too. Let us know how you get on. Good luck!

      Hi Jerry, thank you for the kind review! It's difficult to know without seeing your swing why you occasionally hit behind the ball. However check out this video ruclips.net/video/Mfj8YK8ucC0/видео.html which if you do right will make it very difficult to hit behind the ball. You want to perfect good weight shift.

    • @philipsparks8315
      @philipsparks8315 Год назад +1

      As has already been stated it is difficult to say without seeing the cause, but in general terms, think about the bottom of the swing which wants to be AFTER the ball - this point will usually occur directly below your body’s centre so either a lack of good weight transference or the right side dropping too low are likely to be the causes. Both these can be caused by keeping your head down too long and may even be an historic habitual move even after correcting this. Tony Jacklin famously said that being told to keep his head down was the WORST piece of advice he was ever given.

      @Easiestswing  Год назад

      That's ok James, it's easy to misunderstand. As a fellow 6ft 4 guy, I can assure you it works wonderfully. I have custom fit clubs at 1.5 inches longer than standard through the entire set, also 4 degrees upright, which at 6ft+ you will likely need custom fitting. La Danse du Golf is a template for the golf swing, it's typically practiced upright, however it's transferred to the swing and posture required for the club being used. A wedge will require a more bent over posture, a driver will be more upright. Hope this helps and happy dancing! 😊

      Hi James this move was invented by my brother @ 6’3” me @ 6’4” and my son @ 6’5” all adopt it. You are right though you will need to tilt the spine more as the clubs get shorter. Retain that angle throughout the action still in the same style. But as Peter mentioned at 6’4” you need a minimum of 1” longer clubs (mine are 2” longer) and most likely need to be several degrees upright too (once again mine are 5° upright)

    For those who complain, they are hitting short of your friends
    Few things to consider, are they very flexible and strong and younger than you? If so, no matter how much you try, you would always be short, to hit the ball long you need strength flexibility and massive coordination, also learn body dissociation, meaning the lower and upper do not work as one,
    This swing is for those who just want to go and have fun, is not long and is for seniors as they clearly say it.

      Thanks for your comments Maximo. Easiest Swing is ideal for senior golfers, but not exclusively so. Many younger golfers use it too. Philip is a senior who uses ES and drives the ball 280-300, he definitely has fun and has plenty of distance. ES employs effortless power vs powerless effort.

    Hello. I consider your teaching method to be very good.
    One thing I did notice was that, like Brian Sparks, you also appear to look up before impact or are you just trying to follow the ball with your eyes. Smilar to Stenson and Sorenstam. I feel I naturally come out of the shot early and try to do the opposite.

    •  Год назад +1

      I purposely look up before impact just like Annika does. I don't always manage and sometimes I am just following the ball. The only way you can come out of the shot is by changing the spine angle. As an exercise for you, try hitting some shots with your eyes closed. This might help you to become aware of where the fault lies in your movement.

    I agree this move is important but it needs to be from your address position. If you swing level shoulders from a tilted address position you will be in trouble.

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  Год назад

      Well spotted Mike. La Danse du Golf is only a template and a way to develop the feel of implementing the 6 basics. Your shoulders will not be level on the backswing with a bent over posture, this would only happen if they were forced level, which they shouldn't be! However they will not be tilted deliberately either. They will respond to the turn and head movement according to the posture. Hope this helps.

      @@Easiestswing thanks for your reply. I'm your vintage, and I've been playing for many years. I have a library of golf books, and quite a few are instructional. Decades ago, it was recognised that much of golf instruction is contradictory. Much instruction relies on metaphors, but sadly, few are actually relevant, though their proponents assure us they are. Only in the past few days, I've watched Padraig Harrington and Ian Woosnam offer completely contradictory advice, and both have plenty of good reasons why they're correct. One of my books has a page between each chapter with two completely different bits of instruction from two champions, as humorous examples. Maintaining level shoulders isn't advice I'd offer, but perhaps it will work for someone.

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  Год назад

      Yes often the tour pros are so talented they don’t even know how they do what they do and when they try to explain it it just doesn’t add up. As for the level shoulders, it is not something a lot of golf teachers understand either, as with the more narrow arc on the backswing (which is actually wider overall when combined with the other key elements). First of all the shoulders are not technically level, there is a slight difference in the height of the target shoulder and the non target shoulder at the top of the backswing. On the follow through, however, they are ideally level.
      If you agree that tension in the golf swing is a no-no then you may begin to see why the angled shoulder turn that is taught across the board is not something we encourage. I personally find that if I turn the conventional way then there is tension created in my back and shoulders.
      I would also like to mention that the conventional shoulder turn that is taught is based on the principle of a two lever swing with the target arm. The primary lever being from the club head to the shoulder and the secondary lever from the wrist to the club head. At Easiest Swing we have 3 levers. The third lever is the elbow bend which adds additional power which is why you can still hit the ball miles with an easy swing. I hope this goes some way to explaining why the “level” shoulders” is advice that we offer, and that it works for pretty much everyone once it is adopted correctly.
