Man this classic does something to and for my spirit! It's difficult to explain because it captures so many elements of my life. Missing my big brother who passed from covid in April, then my dog ( old age) in October and then my dad (90 years) on November 3rd.
I'm grateful for the time we shared.
My brother's passing was cruelly unexpected. I have to keep crying out to God for help with my bitterness over the lies told at the beginning of this pandemic.
My dog was old age and we couldn't bare to see her suffer, so had her put to sleep. It hurts terribly nonetheless.
My dad lived a full life, so I am very grateful.
The yesterday's were wonderful.
Now I am working on accepting that our shared yesterday's and unshared tomorrow's are a part of the journey of life.
My heart goes out to all who are missing their yesterday loved ones who will always be a part of their tomorrow's in their heart.

Doing my school homework in my lonely room, I remember listening to this on the radio in 1969. I would sing along to this song each and every time that it would play. One evening I sang along to Stevie when I heard outside my bedroom door some other familiar voices. My Mom and Dad were also singing along with me and Stevie, and I smiled. What really struck me at the time was when we all sang to the words "What happened to the world we knew." Little did I know what the words really meant; but my parents surely knew. Sadly now decades later, I understand the words all too well. There weren't many parents of my generation that liked "our" music, but Stevie Wonder could appeal to people of all ages and races, and he was wonderful.

Simply wonderful. That's the only way to describe this song. The 60's and 70's was such magical time in my childhood, with good family, friends and all of that great music. What it does is make you realise if you are between the ages 55-65 or so you were part of an era that was blessed with timeless talent in so much abundance.'Twas truly an era of excellence in that industry....could never get bored. lolol
