His Sporting teams have drawn against city at Etihad, beaten Tottenham in CL, and knocked out Arsenal in Europa. Won first title for 19 years.

@@stephenfisher9451 That Ajax team was fire, we got really humbled by them, keep in mind we got hit by prime Haller ball, and that 5-0 loss vs City was really unlucky, we literally had a lot of chances, failed, and then got counter attacked and conceded the first times time they got there. City had liike 4 shots and 4 goals in the first half, some insane goals aswell. Like, the score doesnt do justice for the game it was, Pep said so himself: ruclips.net/video/JWDRRzlpYQ4/видео.html

I understand the difference in quality between the both respective leagues, but if Amorim had the now Liverpool team in his current league, they'd win the league and probably the Europea, it's got more to do with the teams than the manager itself.

Yes but yes gonna manage Liverpool in the epl. He'll be under the illusion that itll be the same as the portoguese league. However we all know that the epl is wayyy tougher and you can't get by on talent alone. Even a game against the bottom side like Sheffield utd will cause you problems. It'll take a while for him to adapt.

    Liverpool’s midfielders:
Gravenberch, Jones, Szoboszlai, Clark, Mac Allister, Elliott, Endo, Bajcetic, Morton, McConnel, Carvalho +/- Trent
Liverpool have 11 midfielders to fit into a 2-man midfield with the Amorim formation of 343. This formation is ruining all our development this year to develop a well rounded midfield with really quality midfield players.. who I love … especially ruining it for Gravenberch, Jones, Clark, Szoboszlai and even Mac Allister
Amorim wants his creative double pivot midfielder to have 50-60 touches to have half of what Mac Allister should be having. And Mac Allister said himself his best position is at 10. He has the number 10 shirt. He didn’t sign for United because he’d be played alongside Casemiro with Fernandes ahead and he wanted Liverpool because he could play as a 10 his father talked about this. In a 433 he can rotate with Szoboszlai with who is higher up and who is deeper. Being a double pivot isn’t a 10 role. It’s a dead role in Amorim’s system for Mac Allister and is better suited to Trent because the number of touches the double pivot at Sporting plays is 50-60 which is low and half of what say a De Bruyne has. Mac Allister would defo want more touches but the position would be better for Trent as Amorim wants that position to quickly progress the ball with few touches with creative double pivot in his formation, looks like the defenders get even more touches….. erm noo midfielders are best suited in their DNA to have the most touches moving the ball around by dribbling and passing….
Only Elliott really would work as a hybrid wide / inside forward CAM but Salah’s there, not even Carvalho because he doesn’t like playing wide at all as it’s a hybrid wide / 10 role. And Szobo’s best position is in the RCM role in that no. 8 shirt which Klopp identified and changed and he’s galactico level there. Moving him back to an inside forward CAM is a downgrade, as Szobo is a complete midfielder. If playing Elliott Salah rotation you’d then rotate a winger with a hybrid inside forward CAM on the other side, so whenever Salah starts it would maybe be ruling out Diaz, whenever Elliott starts it rules out Salah ….. and this is all reliant on a left wing back or right back playing wide and high. Let’s be honest we know Trent doesn’t want to spend the rest of his career out on the right especially far right width if Salah or Elliott are there, Trent wants to play central… and even if he accepts a more central RWB role it means the right side Salah or Elliott will have to play out wider which neither want….. and with Amorim’s formation we would only play with 2 forwards rather than 3…
And we need a manager to come in who can play Trent centrally. Again do you think Trent wants to be that wing back out as far right as possible pushing very high up the field? Nope. Also what players actually want to be wing backs ? no elite level club use wing backs and using wing backs plus a back 3 takes away our midfielders in the centre that WE HAVE at Liverpool.. our midfield players could well leave like Jones who is very good and Arsenal want. He should start over Mainoo for England or rotate with him at least
Right now we can easily rotate 11 midfielders into a midfield 3 and that’s what all top teams currently utilise, 433 or 4141 or 4231 even. No CL semi final level team in Europe uses a back 3. Defending with a back 5 in a 523 is ridiculous for a top level European team? Amorim has to be flexible and not rigid if he comes to Liverpool and adapt to the squad to some degree. He can’t come in and say “this player fits my system, he stays and this player doesn’t, he changes or goes”
Jurgen Klopp came to Liverpool and adapted TWICE tactically from his famous 4-2-3-1 in Dortmund. We had one 433 tactical system now we have a new 433 tactical system.
343 is a joke formation where we will use defenders over the midfielders who historically are the best players with the ball to be in possession and creative in the middle ? You want Kroos Casemiro Modric or Busquets Iniesta Xavi being the ones passing the ball around not defenders I’m sorry if you look at how involved the defenders of Amorim are.
Klopp has done so well to bring in 11 midfielders all young bar Endo and a culture of rotation in the middle of the park providing depth and protection against crazy schedules players have. Amorim utilising 343 at Liverpool is a mistake. He just can’t be rigid latin like that.
Everything for me about Amorim which isn’t football related fits Liverpool but the priority is football as we have the players, culture, structure, staff, stadium, academy, infrastructure. We need a good tactician who understands football very well
Honestly how do we play in possession? A back 3, DM and a CM in a double pivot with 50-60 touches along with really high wing backs, fr? That’s like an ancient style or mid division negative football for teams that don’t have dominance and quality in the middle. Seriously people need to take off their rose tinted glasses and see this for what it is but it’s a reaction of trying to make ourselves feel better as we all deep down are so sad by Klopp leaving and it coming out of the blue 2 years and a half in advance
But don’t blame Amorim or Alonso or Klopp but realise the management of the club didn’t have plans in place for post Klopp and with the unexpected announcement of Klopp to leave, no-one in the club clearly is / was prepared for post Klopp. If we had some targets lined up it would have been the situation to just bring them in earlier. Everything right now is damage control. Klopp’s character and work at the club we were just all in love with thinking only in the moment and the club wasn’t thinking about anything other than Klopp, and wasn’t prepared for the future
IF Amorim comes in and IS flexible it will be the ideal scenario. A stroke of luck

This "league" argument is kinda ridiculous for people who actually spend so much time watching football. As far as players are concerned there's loads of examples showing - if you are great (not good, great) in the portuguese league...you'll be great in the Prem too. As far as managers.....wiithout calling them great....the latest being Bruno Lage, Marco Silva and Nuno Espirito Santo......Bruno and Nuno are capable of mid table finishes (so serviceable at the very least) and Marco, the better of the three, well, he is doing fine at Fulham. So their tactical and managerial know how seems to be enough.
I'd love this imaginary long list of examples of great managers and players that were excellent in other lowers leagues and couldn't cut it in the Prem. It's one big myth. I mean....the best players in the world come from Argentian and Brazil and no one ever questions the strength of the teams they come from....you loook at the talent.

Comments on players taking time to adjust to Premier league, by the Athletic pundit. Diaz remember him, went straight in and was superior to what LFC had on the Left. Nunez, he did not need time to settle. Porto as good as Arsenal, arsenal did not beat them in normal play, it was penaltys. 75% of German Bundesliga teams would not survive in the Championship.Did Sporting dispatch Arsenal last season in Europe.

He won't last very long at Liverpool mark my words. Our crowd will be leaving the ground early in droves unless he wins pretty much every home game. It's an entitled and tourist based ground now Anfield. I have no enthusiasm for him and I don't sense any from other locals either. If there's a way we can get JK back after his break though that might not be a bad thing.
