@Wheresthelove7 you're kinda overrating Gil tbh, and I'm not a hater at all. He was a great scorer during his prime, but he wasn't a winning player. They had some fine teams, especially relative to the league at the time, but he never made any real noise in the postseason. He's a lot like Steve Francis was in his prime - great regular season scorer, but not what makes up a winning player. For a franchise, he's a good guy to have to sell some tickets, but he isn't gonna win you anything serious. Top 60 for that kinda guy kinda crazy.

To my knowledge, No Skill Gil didn't mention Jokic breaking Lebroom's record for total regular season and playoff triple doubles. He ignores Jokic shooting 58% from the field while averaging a triple double. I've never heard Lebron fanboys say Lebron needed to average a near triple double to win mvp because he never did. @@psychedelicvault6951 In today's game triple doubles are overrated because how offenses play today with the ball dominance you see. The true triple double was Oscar Robertson.
.Porzingis told a fellow player not to go play at dallas as it is bad to play with Doncic.
We have all played with people like that in pickup and it sucks.
What was way more interesting than the all-star game was the celebrity all star, game.. First off CJ stroud and Micah parson's are not celebrities they are professional athletes. All the players were playing like today's pro's. All three point chucking. Like in my time we tried to play like the pro's. Unless you are shooting about 37% it is better to take a 2 point shot. Most peole can not shoot 37% so it would be wiser to take a 2 point shot. BUT NO let's chuck. These young people don't know how to play basketball and set up an offense where you can score on a 2 point shot. It is boring and dumb basketball.
Even toady's pro's can't runa a 2 point play with 10 seconds left in the game. This is bad basketball Finally, you can play basketball with limited dribbling like Havlicek, Bradley, McMillan and Marin did.

Sabonis got all NBA, which is where the money is at, but Sabonis will probably take a discount just like Kawhi & Kyrie.
The collective bargaining is only a problem with three without a discount.
That is why Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal have budget constraints.
That is why Marcus Smart was traded after winning supermax eligibility in the defensive player of the year, but extended 3rd team all NBA Jaylen Brown.
The main idea is that Gilbert doesn't know the supermax is not automatically guaranteed if the team has the right to compromise or trade.

But my point was more so, Adam’s wouldn’t even attempt to reach for the rebound but would instead JUST box out his opponent to allow Russ to grab them, which deflated his overall rebounding stats. Adam’s averaged 6.7 rebounds per game Russ’ first triple double season, and we all know Adams is a BEAST on the boards

Guy passes up open shots he could easily make for better ones. If Jokic were a stat padder, Ala LeFraud, he'd average 40/20/20 or even better. NBA fans who understand the game on both ends of the court genuinely appreciate the talent possessed by the Joker. Those who criticize him are often individuals who did not have a successful career themselves. When people like Stephen A. Smith attack players like Luka, it is best to take their words with a grain of salt, as Luka will continue to excel. Larry Bird is a prime example of this; I recall his altercation with Isaiah Thomas, but at the end of the day, Larry was a great player. Luka will undoubtedly be among the greats, and the only people bringing up race are those who wish they had the same level of talent. The narrative about the games and the league is what matters. The NBA, I would say, is on the cutting edge of the sports world. They are moving from being a league about competition to a league about sports/gambling entertainment and soap opera drama.
This is why players/commentators aren't so fond of Luka and Jokic. Those two don't care about the narrative/sports-entertainment, part of the league. Many current players are looking to the "after career" hustle right now. Being controversial, staying relevant in the public eye, gaining wealth after their career is over. In a few years it'll go back to it's usual, nobody here actually thinks white people will suddenly start dominating across the board. Instead of saying it's a race thing they need to look at WHY suddenly the Europeans seem to be taking over in such a short span of time. Look into how they train their players, how they set them up in sports academies, how they've been playing with grown professional men since their teen years and you'll start to understand that our grip on basketball has loosened slightly because while they were innovating new training methods and have dozens of semipro leagues our system hasn't changed since the 80s besides bringing in the g league 🤷🏽‍♂️

There's no question Westbrook was stat-padding. There's tons of easily proven examples of it, where he'd change his play style late in a game just to get that last assist. In simple terms, he has way more 10 assist games than 9 assist games. Statistically that just doesn't make sense. Further deep dives into his shot charts showed that his shot selection changed drastically when he was at 9 assists. So obviously the guy was watching the scoreboard more than the game in front of him, and padding.

Jokic & Luka (heck we'll throw in Embiid & the Greek Freak) vs Team USA. This is not about the game but a jolt reaction to racism when America should celebrate it cause this means America can focus on other things cause the world's got your back.

I remember everybody celebrating Westbrook for what he did. Dude you can see the racism and hate pouring out of these people

I like Russell Westbrook, and I hate how he got dragged by Gilbert on this shit.
I hate how Russell gets hate from ESPN then suddenly gets portrayed as a martyr when they talk about Joker.

In 2015-2017, the media were hyping up Lebron and Steph. Westbrook came 3rd or 4th or further down the list.
In 2024, there is no player like 2015-2017 Lebron and Steph, and therefore they need to hype the new stars, like Jokic, Luka, Ant, Wemby etc.

Jokic is the opposite of a stat padder. They could try and claim luka is, but we know for a fact that Westbrick was one.
Not only that, he's not a likeable guy. How many fans phones has he destroyed. I mean he actually should have been arrested several times for that. but the media actually sided with him each time.

I don't think is question of White VS Black Players, it's more a question of American Players and The Media accepting a foreign player especially European being better than their own talent. And You know what? They will eventually have to accept the fact that an European Superstar can be better than An American one. IF The FIBA World Cup USA results were not wake up calls to the arrogant media, I don't what will.

They all love Wembanyama though. It’s not about nationality, it’s about ethnicity my friend.

@@mosessupposes2571 I'll say a bit more clearly my friend.
They will accept Webowaya as long as he doesn't pose a threat to American Superstars.
Once he becomes a threat the media will start eating him alive too.
It is a question of American dominance over A World one especially if it's a European.
Why Tony Parker was accepted? Because in the middle of a great career he was labelled than any of the great guards of his era including Allen Iverson.

Westbrook's triple doubles were stat padded, and the media, with the exception of 2 people, were all pretending that they didn't know this to be true.
He was praised by everyone except 2 guys who were proven correct in the long run.
The MVP award was typically tied to individual performance + team success. It went to the best performing player whose performance was contributing to a top team. They ignored this and gave Russ the MVP because everyone was feeling bad about KD leaving.
Oscar Robertson was the first to average a TD while scoring 30ppg and he finished 3rd in MVP voting. The MVP went to Bill Russell instead, who averaged 18.9ppg.
If being the first does not earn you an MVP, then it makes no sense for you to win MVP for being the second. You know it was padded stats for Russ because he never did it while KD was there. If playing that way translated to winning basketball, they would have had him doing that while KD was in OKC. But his style of play did not allow for teammates to get in rhythm. He would often stop passing to teammates who were hot and lose games in the 4th quarter playing hero ball and his supporters would point to the 4th quarter scoring of his teammates while ignoring the fact that Russ was the one who took away their opportunities to score on the 4th.
If averaging a TD was ever as great an accomplishment as they made it seem that one season, Oscar would've been MVP the year he did it first and Russ would have continued to win MVP every year that he averaged a TD after that first year.
The reason it only earned him 1 MVP was because it was a sympathy MVP. KD left, and that entire year was about how GS ruined the NBA, KD was a "cupcake," and "omg, Westbrook is averaging a TD." A few ppl pointed out the obvious. He was chasing those TDs and they were not going to win in the playoffs playing like that. Paul George should have been enough help for Russ to get past round 1. Instead Rookie Donovan Mitchell bounced em out the 1st round. The next year, Dame Time only let Mr Triple Double win 1 game before sending them home with a clutch "bad shot" according to Paul George.

I didn't hear anyone say Russ was stat padding. Jokic is barely ever mentioned without some criticism being included. Whether his defense, he's slow, etc.
