The old WARZONE game had a similar activation. Activate a unit at a time. What I loved from that was that you did not need to activate YOUR OWN unit. You could point out one from your enemy that had to activate.

Units that are already activated CAN fight back and are NOT Fatigued.
Unactivated units that get charged do not count as Activated at the end of the combat. Only Fatigued, and only if you fight back

Page 9: "After attacking in melee for the first time during a round, either by
charging or by striking back, models only hit on unmodified rolls of
6 in melee until the end of that round."
I interpret that as Fatigued after first fight action, regardless of reason.

Yeah, so striking back does not count as active then?
Because you don't have to strike back if they do no damage right?

    • @chrisriti626
      @chrisriti626 Месяц назад +1

@danielv6906 If you didn't roll attacks, you didn't attack. So you are not Fatigued or Activated.
If you did roll attack dice, you did attack for the first time. So you are Fatigued. But if your unit didn't perform the charge, you are still not Activated.
A Fatigued unit can still activate...so they can still Advance, Rush, or even Charge (though they'll be hitting on 6s).
A Fatigued unit can even shoot and will not suffer a penalty, since Fatigue only affects melee.

@@bringbattlewargaming8720Striking back does NOT count as activating.
      It just Fatigues you.
The only limitation of Fatigue is hitting on 6s in melee for the rest of the round. A Fatigued unit that hasn't activated can still Advance, Rush, Charge (hitting on 6s), Shoot (no penalty- Fatigue is melee only), Cast spells, use "during this model's activation" abilities, etc.
And no, you do not have to fight back. If you don't fight back, you're not Fatigued.
So there are times you won't fight back (maybe they do no damage, maybe your Fear is higher than their damage so you win the fight without fighting, or maybe you just feel lucky on the Morale check). During those times, if you proceed to charge something on your activation, you do not suffer the drawbacks of Fatigue.

Rending (and Poison) ignores Regen, even on hits that don't roll 6's. Putrid would still give a save, though AFAIK

Fighting back in melee does not count as an activation.

I’ve played earlier versions of grimdark future and really enjoyed it. I would agree that the alien hives are not as good at close combat as it feels they should be, they look the part but struggle to take down battle brothers, doesn’t feel right to me.

I agree, they should be scary in combat but I suppose OPR are trying to move away from the fact they are Nids. They defo don't play like nids, so i will havr to re think my army

@@bringbattlewargaming8720 it would be interesting to see a shorty bug army, if they are trying to distance themselves from nids maybe they are really good at range? I really need to download the newest version and get back into it. Keep up the good work, loving the channel (except kings of war, not enough guns lol).

Take this all with a large grain of salt because I've only played two games, and only one with Alien Hives, but I think the loadouts being adjusted would help a lot against the Plague Disciples. They are super tanky with Defense 3+ mostly, Putrid save 6+, and lots of Regeneration. Lots of low AP attacks won't do much against them unless you have a LOT of them. Rending ignores Regen on all attacks, not just natural 6's, and high AP would knock down those natural Defense rolls.
That scary unit of Destroyers especially would've been hit more effectively if one of the Carnivo-Rexes had the AP(4) serrated claws. That being said, no matter what you hit them with they're going to be sturdy lol That's like a 450 point unit
