LYRICS:
Doctor, my eyes have seen the years
And the slow parade of fears without crying
Now I want to understand
I have done all that I could
To see the evil and the good without hiding
You must help me if you can
Doctor, my eyes
Tell me what is wrong
Was I unwise
To leave them open for so long
As I have wandered through this world
And as each moment has unfurled
I’ve been waiting to awaken from these dreams
People go just where they will
I never noticed them until I got this feeling
That it’s later than it seems
Doctor, my eyes
Tell me what you see
I hear their cries
Just say if it’s too late for me
Doctor, my eyes
They cannot see the sky
Is this the prize
For having learned how not to cry

This man literally makes me weep! his talent is still so prescient!
Take me back to the 70s PLEASE I cant stand any more of the 2000s

It needs to be CANCELLED! Clots of self-indulgent boobs. We're surrounded!
🤔🤔🤔 - -Amen !!! Me neither. Everyone ( younger generations ), are all so very entitled, arrogant, full of anger, etc. Not all, mind you, but a significant number. The United States is in deep, deep, trouble. I served our nation in the military, overseas, in the 1970's. IMHO,.if the United States had to reinstitute the draft, we'd be in major trouble. Overweight, drug addicted, young men and ladies, whose life consists of getting more " Facebook friends ", who they never met or truly know, Grand Theft Auto addicted players, etc. I'm sure you understand where I'm coming from. God bless you. ‼️👍👍⬆️☝️✝️❤️
Fr 70's best of times
At 62 he still able to take me away to a place that brings peace. Man do we need his voice today?

How did such a young Jackson write such meaningful lyrics and music
Hey some people just got it.
He's brilliant! 😍

Now this is music. The 70s, what a time to be alive! Just as incredible today. Thank you, Jackson!
He’s a musical genius. Way before his time and never got the recognition he deserves.
he his the best to me you know he used to be a good family friends with mine... friend death is one thing we shouldn't pray for are you that familiar with elvis..?
@@armaniscott49 If he's familiar with Jackson Browne I'd be shocked if he wasn't familiar with Elvis's music lol. I'm sure he knows the Beatles music as well. I could see if this was a video about Drake asking that but Jackson Browne is pretty old. FYI I don't listen to Drake, I just happen to know he's popular amongst kids these days.
@@markastoforoff7838 well I'm from Berlin Germany but currently live I Portland Oregon since 1985 what about yourself ?
What are ya talking about? ... he is on nearly every short list of the greatest song writers of all time.
Huh? He had a massive amount of airplay in the 70's, sold a ton of records, and was one of the largest concert draws of the time.
A young Jackson B. Could write lyrics like these because he is of the best educated American generation to come after WW2.The people we educate now are subpar from subpar teachers that is why we are 17th among nations of the Earth.Academics are about money and not the calling.
My husband(then boyfriend) and I have been dedicated Jackson Browne fans since he played the Mississippi River Festival @ Southern Illinois University in 1972 for the band Yes and again in 1973 for the band America. Finally in 1977, he was there as a top musician himself! We have seen him each time he came to St. Louis and watched him continue to grow even better with every concert and through all of his stances on human dignity and causes that are close to
his heart. You can feel his passionate convictions in his music still after all these years. ❤
Hard to imagine him playing 2nd fiddle to America hunh!
I have been listening to him for a month or so. I took notice after reading online that he penned - and played 'these days' - a song that I thought was/is a 'Velvet Underground and Nico' track. His music has been an amazing discovery for me, even though I have burst out crying at times... life in Scotland... listening to Deacon Blues 'Raintown' album on repeat for nearly 40 years..which I don't suppose is too wrong 😮 😅 God bless ❤ 😊
hello how was your day

I've been appreciating Jackson Browne sine the 70s ... 🎶 Tops on my playlist 🕯️
Me, too
thanks you so much i really appreciate it
JB looks great. I mean I'd never recognize him otherwise. I still see him with the brown hair etc. Time marches on but the music remains timeless. Thankyou for all the years of great tunes Jackson ❤
I think Jackson is the best singer-songwriter of his generation.
I love that Jackson posts so much of his music online. Such a generous spirit.
What a generous spirit 🎉 😂 ☝️
Amen to that 😊

Hello
Wish ol Bob Dylan would do the same....
2023, I never thought this song would make me cry. God help us.
This song never gets old, like me!
Hello Mr. Michael how are you doing 😊
Now that he's elderly, this song has intensified in its meaning. I've always loved Jackson Browne's music. Incredible artist. A true American treasure.
It freaks me out a little seeing him looking this old, I guess because I do too. I listened to his first four albums so many times I had them memorized. When we come to the place where the road and the sky collide, throw me over the edge and let my spirit glide.
Jackson sounds so good.... and that band he surrounds himself with are so extraordinary.
The bass could be a little more "with it" like the original.
Yeah he doesn't use very much pitch correction, that's impressive nowadays.
Hello Mr. Daniel how are you doing 😊
I think it’s Glen Frey ‘s son on the 2nd guitar solo.
@@rcrewe3733except that Lee Sklar can only be in one place at a time.😂
A good song can bring a myriad of feelings. This is one of those songs.
Oh how I love this man! He brings joy by everything he does to so many people. Thank you Jackson for being the wonderful soul that you are!
Now THAT was a treat.. Love Jackson Browne

.. OH YES!!!🎉As ALWAYS.. INCREDIBLE AND SO BRILLIANT!!!!!
I'd love to be in his band
Being a musician, Jackson's music is as timeless as the Beatles
Thankful we still have great muscians like Jackson Browne around today! The candle is still burning.
Mr. Browne, you may be reading this we've all been disciples for many years! We listened carefully to every note and syllable that you had to spoon-feed us and keep us and the planet mother Earth living for a little bit longer! No nukes to information wars I dissected in consumed every drop of nectar I could consume! Because only by consuming that nectar did I come to fully realize my personal spiritual needs but also the Earth and humanity! Thank you Jackson for carrying a torch so valiantly amidst all the destruction! Mr. Jackson Browne you gave everything and continue to do so and have been the pied Piper for global reawakening! I hope future generations will reflect upon all the artists and musicians that led the charge. Thanks again Jackson
Brings me back in time. A classic for sure

@@julierobinson8202 Hello, how are you doing it's nice meeting you here
Sounds good after all these years
I remember hearing this song for the first time just before walking across the football field to school in the early seventies. It had a profound impact on my emotions and I realized I had heard a great song from a great songwriter. Excellent performance Jackson and band! The guitar solos nod to Jesse Ed Davis and yet also are strong in their own originality. I miss Lee Sklar’s eighth note triplet bass intro.

He is simply the best… followed him my whole lifetime - even blessed with front row seats at Redrocks by a dear friend a few years back. Love this man and his music.❤

Keeps growing us up Jackson Brown the legend
Jackson is a national treasure. Notice, too, like many singers, well into their careers shall we say, he sings rhis song much lower than originally sung. No offense at all to this fine guitar player, but when the break comes I still hear Jesse Davis playing it in my head. Great song. Cheers
He's still got it!! ❤

God blessed Jackson with extraordinary talent, and he perfected his art. ❤️
This was the 1st song played by the band at my cousin’s wedding about 5 years ago. They played a rocking version. It got me to break my rule about never being the 1st couple on the dance floor. My wife and I danced away “as if no one else was there”! It was glorious!
After it was over, we went over to the band and told them that was our 1st “fast” dance to Doctor My Eyes, and we’ve been fans since the early ‘70’s!
The beat of the congas really makes this song something special.
This song is the song of my life.
Thank you, Jackson Browne. I'm grateful you've shared your gifts with us and continue to do so.

Remember hearing this on AM radio in 1972, been a fan ever since. Doesn't make a lot of sense, he of Los Angles, me of rural Ky. But put simply, some people are able to convey a humanity that is universal. At least that's what I get from his music. Lo these many years I have often wondered why he is not more recognized. I've come to believe it's because he speaks of our frailties, and not many people want to admit them, or reflect on their actions in that way, and truly, it is sometimes painful. When I look back now, I realize the only part of my life that is absent regret, is time spent in the service of others. It's never a bad idea. So finally, I want to thank Mr. Browne for helping me flush out what was important to me, that in the end, all we can be sure we have, is each other.

If there is someone cooler than Jackson Browne I want to shake their hand.
Holy crap, he still sounds like himself! So great to see.
I loved Jackson Brown!!! I wore his albums out and his cassettes. They were always in my car playing. He is the best EVER
While working the James Taylor and Jackson Brown concert at the arena, he had a late sound check. They started to play the song then he stopped. He started to talk to sound guy and backup singers. He talked to them in the music language and changed the backup singers part. They started again with the changes and it did sound much better.
This used to be my favorite song.
Hello 👋 Beautiful Lady 🌹...how are you doing today and how is your weather condition like?

Thanks for keeping us all going through a world that yearns for those ideas, emotions and attitudes expressed in your music. For a few years you played DC at the end of April and I would get to see you for my birthdays...sublime!
It's great to see the backup singer playing congas on this. One of my favorite elements of one of my favorite songs.

I would be Remiss & say that has to be one of the best Live Guitar Solo's ever!
How does his voice still sound so incredible after so many years?
Isn't just amazing our outsides age, but the voices can so often remain as young as they were? Blows me away. Had the worst crush on him as a teen. Progressed from Donny Osmond easily to him.
I woke up this morning thinknig I played guitar for Jackson Browne then I came to the slow realization I am just not worthy...great jam
