    Stellar concept. If it ever starts resisting, maybe try; ripping 1/8" off the bottom, cutting recessions, and dropping a few of bushings under it.

      Yes once the wood starts to weather you will have to do some trimming. I made mine so I can just remove the 2x4 where the latch is and pull it all the way out.

      No, just make sure you leave gaps in the slides for wood expansion/bowing
