@@simonotori1948 I can relate to you. I think we should continue to better ourselves. We should not just feel emotions but rather understand it. Don’t blame others and yourself about your situation. We all struggle with self esteem issues and what others think about us. It has something to do with ego. If you have a healthy ego, you can take criticism from others as information to better yourself. If you have an unhealthy ego, you may feel threatened with it. Also, if someone insults you (different from criticism), you will feel pity and compassionate for that person, because it came from an unhealthy ego. For me, its not easy for I’m still in the process of trying to have a healthy ego. It will not be easy but at least your doing something

I'm a huge fan of your channel and your books... One small dissent I would lodge is you need to review your chapter in Stillness on relationships. IMHO it elides too much, like that many people never meet the right partner and that other people's romantic acceptance of one is beyond that person's control. Of course you might have meant a larger context than just sexual/romantic partnerships, like friendships, but that seemed to be the main thrust of your article.
Of course the locus of control for many single people is more aligned with Epictetus's realization that we can only control what we can control -- and intimate relationships are decidedly a beneficence the universe bestows (or withholds) depending on any number of random variables.

I had someone say something hateful that was absolutely meant to enrage me, I was angry and mad but simply looked away from them and said it was nice talking to you and continue to walk on from that point throughout that day I had nothing but thoughts of anger. But somehow I remembered how to think somehow I gained the upper hand of my emotions and my thoughts told me he means nothing as in what he says has no value to me why should I get angry these are my inner thoughts to myself even though the whole day I was pissed and angry silently stewing and anger I chose to eventually let go and just not care about what he has to say because what he says has really no real effect on my life unless I let it. I've gone through so much and I'm hurting but I choose not to suffer more than I have to I choose to focus on only dealing with my obstacles instead of suffering from them a weird phrase where most people would not understand but other fellow stoic would understand. I'm slowly piecing together different philosophies nihilism mixed with stoicism mixed with an assortment of different philosophies each philosophy has something positive about it something that can bring purpose and meaning stoicism is my basis but I am mixing all different pieces of philosophies that you would think contradict each other but actually work together to create a better philosophy hopefully one day I will be able to share it
