      @@MorganClarkeDesign1 sometimes its hard to believe people would have to know so many details for a job like welding. But sometimes we push ourselves to that fabricators bliss, a place that we can be proud of and for a moment content. And it's all worth it in the end when customer after customer jaw's hit the ground in awe. For me at that moment I want share the knowledge to all that thirst for it. You sir convey it all so well. Great vid Morgan. Only thing I’d like to see different is more real time arc shots. I think the one thing I’m lacking is regulating my filler speed and torch speed. Also, how much of that 225A are you using? On something like this I’d set it at 135-145 and pedal from there. 225 to me seems crazy. Can’t wait for part 2 👍🏻

    Hi Morgan.... PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE... when you make the Part 2 for this video, don't speed up the welding sequence close-ups!! It is SO helpful for people learning (like me) to see your real cadence on a weld pass... (travel speed, fill rate, etc). I feel like I'm dabbing my filler WAY too slowly and moving too slowly as well... which is overcooking my parts. From what I can tell in this video, you guys really move fast.... (maybe 2-3 dabs per second?) as you do a root pass. My cadence is more like 1 dab per second. These videos are pure gold... thank you so much for paying it forward and helping this community! :)

    • @MorganClarkeDesign1

    Do you ever drill little breather holes where your tubes land in junctions for argon flow? supposed to keep the end of your weld from cratering, no ones really gave me a straight answer on it and if it really matters with double passes anyways.

    Fab diaries are the best! Do you ever work with basic DOM tubing if so do you prep differently and/or does it weld differently from chromoly? I’ve never used chromoly or er80d-2 rod

    • @landonstowell779
      @landonstowell779 Год назад

      Dom welds kind of similar but it’s definitely a little dirtier and you wont get as good color as chromoly. Prep is pretty standard across all steels

    Awesome video, sharing a lot of good info for us! One question, is there an advantage to using a mitre joint there instead of a bend? Just curious. Love the videos! Keep them coming!

    • @MorganClarkeDesign1
      @MorganClarkeDesign1  Год назад +1

      Technically, I “most” circumstances a miter joint will provide a stronger change of direction than a bend. It really depends on each application. The partition in the middle of the miter is what provides the strength. Also, landing other portions of the structure into the miter junction is key & solidifies the strength

  • @198GM

    At the end of the welds when stopped or holding for post flow it looks like the tungsten is stuck or sitting on the weld. Is this OK because the weld pool has already hardened or solidified? Unlike while performing the weld, where it would be a dipped and contaminated tungsten? Appreciate the videos and practical tips on this topic, thanks

    • @MorganClarkeDesign1
      @MorganClarkeDesign1  Год назад +1

      Great eye… let’s lay out what’s happening there. Short answer is yes it’s okay, no it hasn’t been contaminated. Or at least not enough to affect the following weld. The tungsten is soo sharp when the weld arc is done & I rest the tip on the puddle it digs just enough to get kind of “stuck” this is from the weld still be hot enough to enable enough softness for the tungsten to be harder & spear in. You can def risk contamination doing it to early or too close.
      This is me just being lazy & not holding the tungsten above the puddle to let the post flow do it’s job.
