Awesome series…just watching these two series has already elevated my tig process. I’ve heard the saying of crazy high amps and pulsing the pedal, but seeing and trying it, makes all sense now. Can’t say thank you enough. Truly amazing and the passion for passing on the tips and tricks…priceless, much respect👊

I like how you explained it as the construction of the story, when it comes to welding and in what order you weld. Very well put together and I appreciate the tips. In your last video you had mentioned about MaxiFlex gloves, lovem and have used them for years. I'm sure you know about these but figured I'd post it anyway (in case anyone else is interested in some quality gloves) You should give Tillman TrueFit Top Grain Goatskin Performance Gloves 1470, these are mechanic type welding gloves and Tillman 1488 Truefit Top Grain Goatskin TIG Welding Work Gloves, these are very thin like a MaxiFlex but are a very flexible leather glove, you can feel everything with them.

THANK YOU!!! 33:00 to 38:00 was amazing and exactly what I was hoping to see... no talking, no music... just 5 minutes of EXACTLY what it looks and sounds like when you are working your way down a part. That was immensely helpful Morgan... I'm sure I will watch that part over and over. The prepping of the open corners was super helpful, as was the advice to use .045" filler to avoid "overfilling" a nice 45* beveled edge. My open corners aren't as perfectly filled as yours were.... so I might stick with the 1/16" filler just to get a little more material into my cover pass. Just curious what the machine was set at when you were doing your pedal whomps. What sort of current range are you pedaling between? (100 on the low pedal to maybe 225 on the high pedal?) It looked like you were using a LOT of pedal travel so it seems like it might be a pretty large swing in amperage for that cover pass. Awesome Video... worth the wait! ;) @MightAsWellK5

Thanks for watching! 25-30 cfm. You might get better color with more. I try to conserve some of the argon if it’s possible. Post flow 10 seconds. If I want a little more, I’ll hold the tungsten in the area contacting the part, then hit the pedal. That will buy another round of 10 seconds.

Thanks again for the videos. It is very much appreciated! I love the tips on prep, dual pass, weld spacing, and welding sequence.
One suggestion is to use a glass cup for filming. It would help viewers see more of the puddle. Also, if you have a 3d printer I believe there are files online for rigs to hold the welding filter and camera. That’s if you don’t want to spend a bunch on a dedicated welding camera.

As always, I appreciate you man. what grade of weldnuts do you use?I'm directing this to you because i see the safety factor you abide by and i trust your opinion! Specifically if we are talking about oem replacement weldnuts. Not a fabricated setup, Im sure design style might allow for a different configuration miss information is bad in my location. I need to replace a factory weldnut for a rear seat mounting bracket to the floor. The original grade is unknown. Do you believe there is an embrittlment issue with grade 8 (10.9 metric) weldnuts or is their design made to accommodate for that (following proper welding practices) given the added material tabs? Is grade 5.5 metric adequate? Any info might instil some confidence in my choices thank you. Yes iv looked at the debate between sheer and bend. Any opinions on fine or course threads for the same application ??
