    I am sharing an easy and quick method to replace broken and stuck Moen shower tub faucet Cartridge 1222 without using any special plumbing tool. On youtube, some professional plumbers used Cartridge Puller and Tap Wrench to remove the stuck cartridges. Also, they have mentioned that it is a more than two hours job to take out the stuck cartridge. Whereas my technique is simple and quick and no special plumbing tool required. I was able to complete this job within 15 minutes.
    WARNING: I am not a professional Plumber if you follow this method it will be at your own risk.
    THANKS FOR WATCHING.

    I looked at several fine RUclips ideas, Dr. Bhatti's recommendation made a potentially difficult job so easy.

    I was told by a Moen phone rep to use white vinegar on a kitchen sink with stuck cartridge. I poured small amounts of vinegar, waited 5 minutes, tried turning, more vinegar, etc... and eventually it came out. You might need a syringe with a horizontal shower cartridge.

      @@drsaqlainbhattithebonsaich1196 it didn't work lol. I got the screw in there, but when I tanked, it just ripped the plastic out. Tried 3 different holes. Called a plumber and they actually put a blowtorch to it and got it out. Your video was great though.

    If Dr Saqlain Bhatti had devised this simple hack all by yourself, you are indeed quite a clever man❗ After watching this video, I stumbled upon another clip depicting the same trick, posted a little over a year before Bhatti's ... "How to remove a shower cartridge with the stem broken off inside", by Stephanie Vandaelle, on Jul 8, 2021. So, here goes the old cliché : There is nothing new under the sun!
    I browsed through some of the videos in this channel, and Bhatti appears to be a person of multiple talents! Does the "Dr." title actually mean medical doctor? A PhD degree? Or just a form of recognition for your expertise in Bonsai and/or cooking?

      @Banana4805 thanks for your Comment. Well, I am a Ph.D. degree holder retired, and now a DIY person.
      When I got to replace the broken bath and shower cartridge, I watched some videos on RUclips for replacing the stuck cartridges, but I did not get the chance to watch the clip by Stephanie. Well, I got the idea for this hack by watching a video where a pro plumber used the tap-and-die tool to remove the stuck cartridge. Even Moen also suggested using the Tap and Die tool when I contacted them.

    Nice job, but it does put a lot of stress on the whole pipe when you pull like that. However, a bolt threaded into the cartridge through some large diameter washers, placed against hole in the pipe, allows the force to be transferred to the outer rim of the hole of the pipe instead.

    • @lambertj.2892

      Is the lifetime warranty for original purchaser only? We bought our house second hand and it's got all Moen fixtures, but we got no receipts because it was all here when we moved in. Do we still qualify for the lifetime warranty? Plus, all our fixtures were installed by the home builder, so I'm guessing even the original owner of the home had no receipts either.

      @@lambertj.2892- A few years ago, I was able to get Moen replacement parts free of charge in Canada WITHOUT original purchase receipts. I took my old, worn-out Moen valve stem cartridge(s) to the Plumbing service counter in Home Depot or RONA, and swapped for new part(s), one for one. Can. Tire didn't offer such service. Don't know how Home Hardware, Lowes (now under RONA), and other plumbing stores handle this. In addition, Moen had mailed O-rings and gaskets not carried by the above retailers to me for free and w/o my receipts. If you call Moen, do get the part #, product #/name, or an accurate description of the item ready at hand.

    use the MOEN CARTRIDGE PULLER MUCH EASER THAN DRILLING HOLE.

    • @drsaqlainbhattithebonsaich1196
      @drsaqlainbhattithebonsaich1196  Год назад +5

      The cartridge puller is effective only when the threaded shaft of the cartridge is intact. In my case, the threaded shaft of the cartridge is broken and there is no way to attach the puller to the cartridge.

      I have a puller tool. This tool works when the cartridge is in one piece and stuck. In my case, the shaft of the cartridge is broken, where you attach the tool.
