If Dr Saqlain Bhatti had devised this simple hack all by yourself, you are indeed quite a clever man❗ After watching this video, I stumbled upon another clip depicting the same trick, posted a little over a year before Bhatti's ... "How to remove a shower cartridge with the stem broken off inside", by Stephanie Vandaelle, on Jul 8, 2021. So, here goes the old cliché : There is nothing new under the sun! I browsed through some of the videos in this channel, and Bhatti appears to be a person of multiple talents! Does the "Dr." title actually mean medical doctor？ A PhD degree？ Or just a form of recognition for your expertise in Bonsai and/or cooking？

For others watching this, this is the method that saved me hours and $100s. I did put a piece of wood to brace the valve.

I was told by a Moen phone rep to use white vinegar on a kitchen sink with stuck cartridge. I poured small amounts of vinegar, waited 5 minutes, tried turning, more vinegar, etc... and eventually it came out. You might need a syringe with a horizontal shower cartridge.

To get this blue you need rusty nails. :)

Nice job, but it does put a lot of stress on the whole pipe when you pull like that. However, a bolt threaded into the cartridge through some large diameter washers, placed against hole in the pipe, allows the force to be transferred to the outer rim of the hole of the pipe instead.
