Chewy doesn't care about the wind. LOL hey guys I'm a 40-year carpenter just found your channel a month ago and have been binge-watching it ever since. As a new subscriber I got to say you guys are top-notch I really appreciate the effort and attention that you give to your videos as well as your job. Thank you very much
Nice maple and YES for the G.I. tag and good to see the POW/MIA flying again. The old electrician that supplied that went on home a month or two ago. A fine guy as ever was. Thanks Pal and Happy Week and God Bless Yall
@@markgalicic7788 10/4 and thanks. His name was Ed Taylor, another hillbilly and an 82 Airborne G.I. and an electrical engineer for NASA. And we both were on the same waveleingth which made it that much more dangerous. His other pal is 94 and having a hard time. Love 'em both.
I have always liked to listen to the whine of a cictaler saw as it cuts a log it remindes me of of the familey vactions we took when I was a kid. Ithink that we must have gone through just about every type of lumber mill alonge the Washington and Orgon cost and some in Calforina the whine of your saw brings back a lot of good memoris.
I don't know anything about sawing lumber. But I do remember my father getting Grandpa's saw back up running for a farm show. It was belt driven by a power source. (Steam engine or tractor). But it cut like a Dream ! All mechanical though, I don't know how they did it back then! Love you're videos!
Five o’clock in the morning having breakfast watching you guys that’s nice maple straight grain no knots , back to the milking parlour today few cosmetic bits to finish off , been told it’s cost about nine thousand to refurbish as a new building and parlour would have been over a hundred thousand , hope you get to a hundred thousand subscribers in the next couple of month , anyway you guys have a nice day
Thanks for another great sawing video. I need to mention that your microphone is working exceptionally well. I can hear every word you say. Hats off to the crew.
Good thing you're in the cab. That wind is sure swirling around near the blade. You don't need flying sawdust in your eyes. Been there done that when I was a young teenager.
I saw another sawmill channel. The sawyer made boards and nobody got killed, but his technique is not up to the standards of the Galicic-Horvath School of Sawmilling.
Beautiful wood! My son has shown me your channel, and, as a woodcarver, it's fascinating and amazing to see all the gorgeous wood you guys deal with. Just subscribed! Also...I have long been fascinated, from the time I was very little, with machinery, and watching it work. Your mill is wonderful to see and watch! Glad you guys are around. Wonderful!!! 😊
For those that don't know what an edger sawmill is, there a youtube sawyer named Helmsburg Sawmill. I'm not trying to name drop on Mr. Marks channel but it gives context into what he's saying.
I figured you wouldn’t want a front mounted edger with all the custom sawing you do. Edging each board separately allows for better results and less waste. Helmsburg is a production mill so he can benefit from the speed but I often wondered how much it blocked his view of the blade and you just answered that question while you were sawing. Nice sawing, as usual!
Good to see you!!!!!!!! It is to bad that you lost some due to a nail. Nice looking nail. ZZ has nothing to hide, so stand tall brother. Good job on the video!
I been watching a channel called HelmsburgSawmill, he has a top saw, and vertical edger, like you say its dirty, but its run on all Electric Motors. No powerplant your yours, he does mostly grade sawing. I like your mill better though. His is interesting to watch.
Watching the edging work, I noticed that Eddie was reaching around and over the angle iron at the end of the edger and was wondering if you plan to put a third roller at the end to make it safer and that way you would have an extra roller to catch the boards?
hey mark do you guys ever get any big leaf maple /Sitka spruce I just would love to see some exotic hardwood on your mill African ipe it's so hard and dence that if a boat were built you'd have putflotation foam for it to float and a diamond saw to cut it and it's rot resistant now that's some hard wood what did the casket say to the other casket is that you coffin ha ha❤😂
Good evening from norway! it was no comments when i started typing but my 1 finger is to slow so 2 others posted before me! 😉 im subscriber 40.001 ore was it 50.001 hehe.
Question mark. Is there any specific reason why you put the opening cut back to the knees instead of down on the headblocks? Seems like it would be more stable and insure a square cut no?? Awesome video, loved it 😀
I think it's because having the flat side against the knees means that all of the dogs can get a good bite. If the flat side was put on the blocks, it would be very stable, but due to the uneven surface on the knees side, some of the dogs might barely touch the log, even when pulled out as far as they can go. HTH - and I'm open to correction by Mark G if I'm wrong!
Mark I have a Few pictures of our Vanity and Laundry Cabinets I built from Ambrosia Maple , working on the Kitchen Cabinets now . How do I send you a couple picks?
Pardon my ignorance as a non sawyer but I just watched the Nicholls Sawmill video and my impression is that the operator did not have your skill and patience when facet sawing.
@ 3:20 must be cold as the Gnome Bros. are huddled up in a flock/gaggle LOL still think they need a girl (female Gnome) friend / this place is a sausage fest !!!
The sawing of nice uniform straight logs maybe fine for you from a commercial point of view, but for the average viewer, having watched quite a few, they can, and do, start to get a bit monotonous.. The bigger, uglier, twisted, knobblier, distorted ,and therefore more difficult and challenging they are,the better .To create something of value out of basically virtual firewood has its own satisfaction. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,100% fact. Denis..
I enjoy at least one of your videos every day. Thank you for showing us how it's done! Boom and glitter to all!

The edger also makes a nice little whine as it dose its work the sound is kind of sothing
like a table saw.

Hi gentlemen how are you doing from Michigan
Hi Scott , doing well.
Mark that last log it looks tome like you could have trimmed that last piece to the size of the rest of the cut boards!
yes true.
@ 13:05 did ZZ donate his beard trimmings to the manufacture of those Gnome Bros. ??
for sure lol.

yes a new 50 MW laser about a month ago.
Did you do a video on your new edger?
yes , you can find some by looking back on the videos.
Was that a spare motor in the background during your opening of the video?
That run the old edger he has sitting there for sale
@@dougsmith9099 ok, I wondered if that was the edger motor. Thanks for the info.
What is the maximum thickness of board the edger can handle?
4"
What is this timber usually used for over there?
Are you giving away tools on telegram?
hardwoods are used for furniture and cabinet work , low grade for blocking and decking . softwoods for building.
