I love Dave! Such a kind, honest person. My first official art show was a two man show with Dave at The Cotton Candy Machine gallery in Brooklyn. I'll always be grateful to him for making that happen. :D
Uncle Ed slippin in that Red Room cover. Lol
LOVE THE DAVE COOPER! He was so kind to me when, as a fan, I'd write him letters, and he'd write back. Or when I'd talk him into coming to SPX, and sharing a room with me. Or when I traveled to that Pitzerburgher show and he, I think, actually let me crash in his room. It's so fun to watch his career. The one thing I wish would have been covered what his and McEown's run on Grendel. Have you ever seen those comics? So much TIME and ENERGY were spent on each and every page. It's INSANE! Loved the shoot!
Hell yes we got Dave Cooper!
So happy about the episode with mr Cooper. Discovered his works not that long ago and now i’m a fan. Thank you
It's so interesting to see Dave commenting on the revisiting of his career - some real stuff that resonates. Super interesting, thank you again to everybody, there are lots of lessons here.
Always intrigued by Patrick McEown... only fleeting appearances over the years but such a talent
I met Dave Cooper in 2006 at UPC/ICE (Underground Press Conference/ Independent Comix Expo) in Chicago and somehow convinced him to trade mini-comics with me. I gave him one of my shitty books, he had this amazing "Dave's Odd Little Fuck Book: The Comic with Teeth". I was a fan then, and even more so in the years since. I also gave Chris Ware one of my minis. He felt obligated to give me a print in trade!!! The guy in line behind me also asked if I trade, so we traded books. That was Craig Thompson. I first got my hands on Steven Weissman's comics at that same show. I was at Nickelodeon when PGBC went into production (I think it was in the same building our production was in), but unfortunately never ran into Cooper there. Prolly for the better, I woulda bugged the shit outta him.
Thank you guys so much for interviewing Dave Cooper! Your channel has turned me onto SO many great cartoonists and Dave sits at the top. He seems like such a rad guy and is a fellow drummer! I’ve been slowly collecting everything I can find by Dave and recently scored full runs of Jake Thrash, Puke & Explode, and the insanely detailed and bonkers Pressed Tongue 3 issues mini (and surprisingly affordable copies too!). Got the first A Big Someplace issue recently but need the other two. Some deluxe “The Complete Dave Cooper” HC volumes would be a welcome addition to this world (hint) or at least reprint Pip and Norton for anyone who can’t find a used copy, cause that book is incredible!!!
One the best best interviews yet! This channel just keeps getting better and better. Your genuine enthusiasm for comics and excitement about Dave Cooper's work in the interview is endearing and contagious. What a treat to get a glimpse into Dave's mind, story and process. An all time great! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Dave! Oh man, this just skims the surface. His work is such an inspiration to me. I’m glad I got to meet and hang out with him back in my Ottawa days.
Wow! Dope interview...Juxtapose Legend!!
I had some of my art up at the Nickelodeon animation studio back when they were making Pig Goat Banana Cricket and ran into Dave. We ending up talking about drumming. Super nice guy. I hope one of these days I'll have enough money to buy one of his paintings
Great interview, he should be a regular
The most important comics channel on RUclips right here! You guys bring ALL the info’ !
Always loved Dave’s work. Thanks for the shoot. Learned a lot about my favorite artist.
Always love the shoot interviews great job fellas one of my first kayfabe episodes was when you guys covered the issues of weasel !! Still on the search for them and I have my marching orders of getting that dave cooper art book 🙏
Absolutely awesome interview fellas. Dave is one of the truly unique artists working today. Loved every second of it. Thank you!
Oh! and I would like to add- a Don Simpson shoot interview would be dope!
I love Dave Cooper! Got to meet him a few times at SDCC. He was so nice and did a few great sketches. One time, Simon Bisley stood in line in front of me to meet Dave and get a book signed. Dave was flattered.
