Stole my thunder. I was about to say something similar, but you just covered it all. Absolutely! These guys are on a solid roll, and we all get to benefit from it!
Wow! That was a great interview! I remember seeing the promo ad for Hellboy in late 93 and was really looking forward to it! Almost 28 years later not disappointed at all! Mike has more than earned my attention and respect for his approach to storytelling/artwork! Being creative is the best experience for writer/artist not bullshit marketing of repetitive events! Once again you guys rocked yet another great interview! Thanks again!
The Bram Stokers stuff is incredible. One of my favorite movies and comics. Was lucky enough to get my hardcover signed by mignola at c2e2 a few years back.
After almost 40 years of fucking around and doodling, i still can't draw Hellboy (or any Mignola-esque character) with anywhere near the economy and cleanliness that Mignola did even right out the gate with Seed of Destruction. Top 5 all time artist for sure. Great interview, fellas
Loved this interview. Like many others have said: I'm glad that the channel is getting back into doing more interviews. Looking forward to more in the future.
I remember the Mignola X-Force book, and I remember thinking how cool and gritty the art looked, compared to the Liefeld art. Hearing this interview makes me feel like petty editors robbed us of what could have been a better X-Force. Oh well, Marvel's loss, we got Hellboy; win!
Hey guys, so cool the interview. Mignola is amazing. When I see something by Mignola I also remember the great Brazilian comic artist named Flavio Colin. He also had a unique style and worked between the 50s and 90s. You need to known.
I went to the same school that Mike went, I had the same teacher the great Vince Perez. He would always talk about Mike and Steve's work and show us their student and profesional art.
Fantastic stuff, yet again from Cartoonist Kayfabe…the finest channel on RUclips. Jim Rugg’s excitement in talking to Mike Mignola is infectious and a pleasure to behold!
My personal art god, Mike rules! Thank you so much for this and thank you Mike. I think a very undersung work of Mike's is the Aliens: Salvation one shot.
This is a gift, I so appreciated your guys' breakdowns in that previous video, and then THIS! Thank you for such a thoughtful interview, especially from an artist-to-artist perspective!
Bar none this is the best RUclips channel for anyone who grew up reading comics in the 90's. It's so fun to hear the stories from the people who were there about what was going on behind the scenes. But if you want tales, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you guys need to get in touch with longtime Marvel letterer Rick Parker and ask him to do an interview. He's on Facebook and is full of fascinating little nuggets of comic book history.
great interview (mike rocks!!) and interesting learnings.. would be cool if you could blend in pictures in the video showing the artwork being talked about for reference - currently its very abstract to grasp the subjects discussed unless you know all the artists style of artwork be heart..
It's 1am here and I gota go to work in the morning! How much of this do I watch now!!? I know it will still be here tomorrow but, heck! I'm super looking forward to this one. Who am I kidding? I look forward to all of your vids.
I'm interested in writing comics Similiar to his, Beau Smith,Steve Niles, and Trese. Supernatural monsters in a modern world. I want to know how he has been writing Hellboy comics since 1993 and they haven't gotten stale or boring?
I think there was a panel where Hellboy was holding a dark gun against a dark background, and at the time, Mignola's solution was to draw a very faint outline around the gun to better define it, and it looked a little janky
Always imagined a more brooding Moore-type character when I imagined Mignola. Seeing this and the Darrow interview makes their work that more exceptional to me for some reason. This interviews are, and continue to be treasures Also: He also looks made for Fantagraphics
Dang, you guys have been bringing the heat with these interviews, just legend after legend, really. Incredibly grateful!
Stole my thunder. I was about to say something similar, but you just covered it all. Absolutely! These guys are on a solid roll, and we all get to benefit from it!
"Where are they, inside, outside...?"
"Oh, I don't know."
ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED: New best show anecdote!
This put it over the top. Best channel on RUclips.
At this point I feel like the Keyfabe boys could resurrect Kirby for a shoot
They should grill Scioli in representation.
Dang, getting the Mignola on the channel, you guys have levelled up.
This is a true all-timer catalog of interviews. Now including my all-time favorite guy! Thank you so much guys.
Dang I was predicting a Mignola shoot interview in my head. Awesome!
Thank you guys for making a great interview with Mike where you don't ask the same questions he's already answered a thousand times! 🙏
I would love to travel to the alternate universe were Mike Mignola did a run of X-men books.
Absolutely killing it with these interviews! Best comix channel on the internet!
The moment we've all been waiting for... thank you!!
I have watched this about 10 times. Mikes excitement is inspiring. Such a great interview.
Legendary.

Oh hell yeah. One of the best and most chill interviews I’ve seen with this legendary master. Thanks guys!
Thank you so much for this interview. This man has been my main inspiration ever since i started drawing “seriously”.
I don't draw or ink like this guy, but he is a big inspiration with his use of contrast, visual storytelling, etc. Awesome artist.
Could have gone for three hours and it wouldn't have been enough - major thanks for pulling this one down for us all.

I was thinking after the Hellboy episode that a Mignola shoot interview would be great and here it is. Thanks guys.
Fantastic stuff, yet again from Cartoonist Kayfabe…the finest channel on RUclips. Jim Rugg’s excitement in talking to Mike Mignola is infectious and a pleasure to behold!
And there it is: a shoot interview with my favorite comic artist. Thank you so much for putting this together, guys!
This interview simply made me happy.
Thanks, y'all.
My personal art god, Mike rules! Thank you so much for this and thank you Mike.
I think a very undersung work of Mike's is the Aliens: Salvation one shot.

Great interview. You guys have been batting .1000 with these artists interviws.
Ohhhh yeah baby! This is the one I've been waiting for!
This channel needs more subscribers holy hell this content is great
Bar none this is the best RUclips channel for anyone who grew up reading comics in the 90's.

amazing like allways , thanks!!
I love Mike! I've been fortunate to work with him a few times and each time out was amazing! Mike is the Best! Mike is the best! Mike is the best! :D
brilliant video. thank you for doing these!
I wish this interview was like 12hrs long XD Mignola is my all time favourite
i just found the first issue of Dracula in a dollar bin, it's incredible work!
In terms of film the Cabinet of Doctor Caligari
always interesting to listen to Mike, thank guys.
Thanks for this one CK!
There's a panel in the first issue of Year One that looks so much like a Mignola/ Chiarello joint. It's just before the bat flies through the window.
Another fantastic natter, Gentlemen! The "make-it-easy-on-yourself" method of writing really streamlines the process! 🖖♾
Damn guys every week the channel becomes better and better! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Starting with the Dracula adaptation! One of the best adaptations ever and my personal favorite Mignola work
that was an excellent interview
Just found the channel and loving it while I'm at work. Would love a Valentino Shadowhawk episode!
Love the fact that he is a Robert E. Howard fan.
Nice one, this is wonderful
Thanks a lot for this, guys!
great interview (mike rocks!!) and interesting learnings..
would be cool if you could blend in pictures in the video showing the artwork being talked about for reference - currently its very abstract to grasp the subjects discussed unless you know all the artists style of artwork be heart..
Would love to meet him. Seems like such a “down-to-earth” dude!
Man, I totally forgot about that Ironwolf comic that Mignola and Chaykin made back in the 90's
Another great conversation. Please interview Simon Bisley!!!!!
Always heavyweight top tier content. 🔥
What a great surprise! Awesome interview, guys.
Loved it! Thanks, Guys!
So cool!! Great job boys!
That Clayface story was written by Steve Purcell and is fucking hilarious. One of my favorite stories of all time. It reads like a bootleg comic.
It's 1am here and I gota go to work in the morning!
How much of this do I watch now!!?
I know it will still be here tomorrow but, heck! I'm super looking forward to this one.
Who am I kidding? I look forward to all of your vids.
Nice one dudes! So rad.
I like you as a shape Mike Mignola!
these shoots are amazing! whens jim shooter coming to do a shoot lol
Great interview! Ask Mignola if he has Steve Purcell's number or something for another Shoot interview
The absolute madlads finally did it.
Awesome interview, fellas!
Superman #13 from 1988 is a cool one shot story that Byrne & Mignola did to look up.
Damn, absolutely amazing!👏👏
Great interview. You guys hitting home-runners.
This channel just keeps better and better! Thanks dudes!
One of my favorite books of his is one I never hear anyone talk about. Ironwolf.
You guys fucking rock! Mike master of masters Mignola.
I'm so happy. I'm only 5 mins 34 in and I'm already happy.
So cool.
This was boss ....cheers!
This is a great interview and is a must watch for any Mignola/Hellboy fans.
It does strike me as odd how much disdain Mike has for DC, though.
I'm interested in writing comics Similiar to his, Beau Smith,Steve Niles, and Trese. Supernatural monsters in a modern world. I want to know how he has been writing Hellboy comics since 1993 and they haven't gotten stale or boring?
Mike Mignola is the best!
Shit, now you guys are just flexing. Amazing!
What was it that y'all said Mike did in the first issue of Hellboy that he wouldn't do now?
I think there was a panel where Hellboy was holding a dark gun against a dark background, and at the time, Mignola's solution was to draw a very faint outline around the gun to better define it, and it looked a little janky
@@bannedinallston Thank you
Woahh, Mignola! niccceee
Well done all
Mike's Dracula is better than the movie
While I love this interview, it bums me out that we can't get a Richard Corben or Bernie Wrightson interviews.☹
Oiii oiiiiii - ya only gone done did it!
Nice one, Boys 👈🥳👉
So did Coppola use his ideas?
huge!!
Duncan rocks!
Always imagined a more brooding Moore-type character when I imagined Mignola. Seeing this and the Darrow interview makes their work that more exceptional to me for some reason. This interviews are, and continue to be treasures
