"If I had an invisibility cloak...I might be robbing banks." That is the most honest reaction to the cloak I have ever seen! 🤣🤣 Love it brother. Keep doing your thing.
I don't think an invisibility cloak would cut it. You'd still need to get into the vault, grab money, and get out without being seen. And someone else would have to open the vault for you, and leave it open long enough for you, and not notice that stuff is disappearing.
Probably easier to sneak into the women's showers at the gym.
Also robbing banks ain't easy carrying one duffle bag of lots of cash is heavy enough you ain't gonna be doing anything easy nor fast.
Also, wouldn’t u make some sound if u dropped something by accident? lol 😂
@@PhilBagels Depends on how much you need really. I mean, 10 $100 bills is $1k. If you are only after a small bit to pay of loans or debts or something, you could make a few in and out trips at the bank with little difficulty. Gratned, that still leaves an issue with needing to be able to get in and out of the Vault. Depending on how security works, you might be able to stack out your target for a short time and just get the stuff needed to get access yourself but that would be assuming that entering was someting simple like needing a code or something to get in. He might have better luck going around shopping centers and nabbing from tills.
And like that I have already put too much thought into this subject.

Harry's biological family treats him so horribly, but Ron's family treats him like a son/brother. Goes to show that sometimes friends are the best family to have.
Mrs Weasley is honestly so kind to Harry, pretty much the entire family is wholesome.
But there is a reason why Harry has to stay with the Dursleys
@@robertparker6280 I think that reason is only explained in the books.
@@G1NZOU That's because she's aware of how Harry is treated at home. Ron tells her a lot and Molly is horrified at it. It's why she immediately welcomes Harry into the family and treats him as her own son.

Oh man, you've started something now, I'm sooo glad you're starting this series. Harry Potter is a WHOLE NEW WORLD to get into and a lot to take in, but it is SO worth it. I've been obsessed with the movies and the books since I was a kid. They definitely get better and darker as you go on (I have a feeling you'll like the 5th movie). Can't wait to see the rest. ❤️

It's the right film. The book was originally titled Philosopher's Stone, but they weren't sure if the American audience would get the reference to magic, so it became Sorcerer's Stone. For the kids only being 11 the acting was pretty on point. RIP Professor Snape/Alan Rickman. Cancer took him to soon.
Btw, Nicholas Flamel is a historical person. People used to dedicate themselves to the study of alchemy for how to turn lead into gold and create an elixir for immortality.
The philosopher's stone is a legend IRL. The idea is that it is a catalyst. Which is why alchemy was the predecessor to chemistry IRL.
Also Fluffy (the 3 headed dog) is a reference to Cerberus from Greek mythology. In the book, Hagrid won Fluffy from a Greek man. In the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, Cerberus (who guarded the land of the dead) allowed Orpheus to pass when he played music.
The mirror Harry found is called the Mirror of Erised (desire backwards).
@@alharairah2214 yeah not sure why they specified he bought fluffy off an irish fellow... haven't found a 3 headed dog in irish folklore. joke failed.
Most American kids who somehow couldn't make the connection also wouldn't know what a philosopher was and thus wouldn't be confused. And since it wasn't referred to by its proper name, I definitely would not have made the connection even if I had heard of the Philosopher's Stone before I started reading Harry Potter as a kid.
As a fan of Fullmetal Alchemist I prefer "philosopher's stone"
RIP too soon

Yes, he's one of the best. I'm also enjoying Veggie Gamer's reactions right now. He's really into it and one nice thing that he does is periodically pause to discuss and wonder about what he's seen rather than talking over the action. He doesn't do it often but it's nice that he doesn't miss key points by talking over the scene.

The Houses of Hogwarts are fairly easy to explain: The school was founded by four Wizards (their last names are the names of the houses) and each house represents certain values that their respective founding wizard upheld. For Griffindoor it is bravery and courage, for hufflepuff its kindness, for ravenclaw intellect and for slytherin ambition and cunning. For any hardcore fans this is just a watered down version, feel free to expand as you see fit.
They're more like frat houses. Each one has a professor asigned as Head of House, a Common Room with bedrooms and a Quidditch team.
@@jpa_616 well technically not frats because they have girls too in the movies they show like five girls and five boys to each house and each year which there are 7 years it's middle school and high school times of course the four houses so it's 35 * 24 I grew up in not so big town and I'm positive that my high school had more than 800 kids in my graduating class and this is just over 800 for 7 f****** years and that giant castle no but that's how the movies made it look which is one of about a million problems I have with how the movies were made my biggest complaint that happened throughout the entire series is that they kept bashing us over the head with basically everyone who meets Harry saying he's got his mother's eyes if he ever if they ever knew Lily but they were supposed to be emerald green and they hire a boy with blue eyes and then for the flashbacks they hire a b**** with brown eyes!?

You should definitely continue the series. It starts getting a bit dark around 3, but the story explodes in depth and detail. The world of Harry Potter is pretty dope. Keep doing you man!
Dude come on, for all of us that have followed you please watch the whole series. Do it for us that watch everything you do man. You’re gonna love this series and we’re gonna love watching you love this series.
I didn't see anyone else answering your question so, if this is a repeated answer, it's my bad.
The family that Harry is being raised by (crappie though they may be) weren't chosen randomly. In this movie he refers to the adults as aunt & uncle. The woman is Harry's aunt (his mother's sister). You'll get more on the familial relationships as you delve deeper into the world of Harry Potter, so I won't explain further than what is offered in this specific installment 🤫. Sorry my brother but thems is the rules! 🙄
First The Dark Knight, now this incredible series! Leo you are making my week!!
Omg Mr. V, I absolutely DIED when you brought out the broom and also: (*clapping clapping clapping*) "What is Gryffindor?" 🤣🤣🤣 YOU'LL ALWAYS BE THE BEST REACTOR ON YT!!! 💗 Cannot wait to follow you thru this whole series. A couple of your questions at the end that I didn't see anyone answer:
You're right, it doesn't feel like it, but Harry was away at school for a year - remember we saw some holidays like Halloween and Christmas and the seasons changing. Hogwarts is like a boarding school, which is set up like a university setting but for younger kids, where students leave home the entire time while attending and live at the school each year (freshman year, sophomore year, etc), but then go back home for a break before returning for the next year. So Harry, Ron, Hermione and everyone else will just be going back home for a few months (probably like summer break) before coming back for the new school year. Boarding schools are more typical in Great Britain, but you do find them in the US too.
And as far as what to watch next: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. See you then!
Your ending questions are summed up by the final line of the film, when Harry says "I'm not going home, not really." It means he views Hogwarts as his true home now. However, Hogwarts is also like many schools, in that the kids are there for an entire school year, from the beginning of fall to spring, and have to go home for the summer until next school year. Despite how the Dursley's treat Harry with extreme prejudice due to him being a wizard, they are his closest living relatives and he has no other place to go for the summer. At least after his first Year, he can now bear a whole summer with the Dursley's knowing he has a magical edge over them and they know it.
The four houses are more like fraternities, maybe. You're sorted into them based on what the hat says, but the hat supposedly knows what kind of traits you have, and pairs you up with the appropriate house. The houses compete against each other, and you sleep with your age-appropriate housemates in areas with house- related color and decorations.
You can also think of them like homeroom or dormitories. JK Rowling based the structure of Hogwarts like elite British boarding schools. You take classes with your House, you eat with your House - Unlike American schools where grades compete with each other, the different houses (consisting of Middleshool/Junior High & Highschool kids) compete against each other.
When you hear "Prefect", you could think of RAs from college - each House has a male and female Prefect. And the Head Boy & Girl are like the Valedictorians.
Unfortunately, in the movie they didn't describe the criteria for each House.
Gryffindor - for the brave - McGonagall (lady who turns into a cat) is in charge of the House - teaches Transfiguration - colors are red & gold - symbol is a lion - ghost is Nearly Headless Nick
Slytherin - for the ambitious - Snape is in charge - teaches Potions - colors are green & silver - symbol is a snake - ghost is the Bloody Baron
Ravenclaw - for the clever - Flitwick (the short teacher with white hair in this movie - look changes in the 3rd) is in charge - teaches Charms (wingardium leviosa) - colors are blue & bronze - symbol is an eagle - ghost is the Grey Lady
Hufflepuff - takes anyone - Sprout (will see her in the 2nd movie) - teaches Herbology - colors are yellow & black - symbol is a badger - ghost is the Fat Friar
An important detail is the hat doesn't sort you based on what traits you have, but what traits you value.
For example, Hermione has the traits of a Ravenclaw, but she aspires to the traits of Gryffindor, so she went there. There are a few other good examples of this, including Harry and Wormtail.
@@seigeengine Wormtail? i havent read the books, so idk about that.
i don't know if most people don't remember this bit but the final decision for the house is the kids choice the hat tells them where they would succeed most due too what traits they exhibit.
But ultimately if the kid wants too go to another house they tell it so just like harry did he was originally supposed to go to Slytherin but chose Gryffindor. He even tells his kid this in the finale book and movie.
@@seigeengine more like it was the only real trait the hat could find in wormtail and thats being generous.

They left Harry with "those people" because, for better or worse, they're his family. The woman is his mother's sister, so that would make them his legal guardians. So stoked you're watching this series!!

The Philosopher's Stone was the original and international title. They called it the Sorcerer's Stone for the US release.
The American versions of the first 'Harry Potter' are called "Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone" and everywhere else (in English) it was 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone'. The Philosopher's Stone is actually the proper name for the object that they are talking about. They figured American audiences would not understand why it was called The Philosopher's Stone, even though it is a legendary/mythic magical item that was supposed to actually exist. The creator, Nicolas Flamel was a real man...and there are places in his home city of Paris, France that are named for him. His home still stands in fact.
Yes, Harry returns to the Dursley's every summer...his Aunt Petunia was the sister of Harry's mother, Lily. Yeah, they suck...It is explained in the films why Harry returns.
The houses are the Dorms for the school as well as the teams. This is part of the British tradition for boarding schools as well as universities. Each one was named for one of the school's founders...Goderic Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. Each house has a ghost that is specific to the house...Nearly Headless Nick (Gryffindor), The Gray Lady (Ravenclaw), The Fat Friar (Hufflepuff) and The Bloody Baron (Slytherin).
Professor Severus Snape was played by Alan Rickman aka Hans Gruber from 'Die Hard'.
Professor Albus Dumbledore was played by the late Richard Harris aka Emperor Marcus Aurelius Caesar from 'Gladiator'. I will warn you now...Harris died shortly after the second movie and Dumbledore was re-cast with actor Michael Gambon (he's really good, but he is different!!!).
The next one...'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets'!!!

Can't wait to go with you on this journey. One of the best movie franchises
This is an interesting and unique franchise in the fact that it ages and matures in tone along with it's characters and actors, I can't wait to watch all these again now that you are lol
Started reading the books in the year 2000, months before the movie came out. I remember watching the teasers, behind the scenes at E! channel, and watching the photographs at magazines. My ten year old soon-to-be-eleven-year-old-ass was so excited for this movie. I had already read the Chambers of the Secrets and was starting The Prisoner of Azkaban the day of the opening.
My mom (an avid fan as she was the one that introduced me, my cousins and friends to this magical world) was like Molly Weasly, watching and being the guardian of all of us kids. My group was like 7 kids and her. She bought me weeks before a HP figure, a costume kit that had: a purple hat with the hogwarts emblem, a retractile plastic wand, glasses (with plastic tape made embedded into it), a hogwarts shield you can put on. So I kept the wand and share everything else with my cousins. I'll never forget the excitement, the hype. Thanks mom for introducing my to this universe, to reading.
She later introduced me to Lord of the Rings too. One day after we watched a movie at the same local theater she just went to the bookstore and bought that curious book with cool llustrations of a magicians with a long beard, standing in the horizon an ominous mountain and besides him a little kid (which later I learned it was a Hobbit called Frodo hehe). I remember the golden letters carved that read "The Lord of the Rings: the Fellowship of the Ring" mezmerized me. It was magic. This book felt a lot of "dangerous' or more serious than Harry Potter's.
I couldn't read it at that time because she was hooked as I was hooked with HP. So one day she invite my the little cousin (we lived in the same house, owned by my grandparents, so we were kinda like brothers) an another younger cousin to watch a movie. We were excited of course: what kids doesn't want to watch a movie, eat popcorns, then go to McDonalds afterwards?
But the LOTR started and we were silent and scared for the whole run. Life changing experience. I don't know how my mom convinced the attendants to let us enter. Watching orcs, trols, demons and shit. Wow. This was no game! But goddammit one of the best moviegoing experiences of my life.
Thanks again, mom!
Idk why but this was my favorite reaction you've done so far. You were just so into it 😂 ❤
You weren't wrong to think Dumbledore was Gandalf in the beginning. Harry Potter is definitely heavily influenced by Lord of the Rings. Remember when the hobbits were given cloaks made by the elves? Frodo and Sam used one like an invisibility cloak to hide from the orcs. There are MANY similarities throughout the series.
The only reason why you think it's similar is because they are both English writers. J.R.R Tolken made his own shit and J.K. Rowling made her own. Tolken took his experiences from a lot of wars he fought in and wondered through cultures. Rowling was basing it on some type of way to express how really ppl are evil in real life.
@@annette6298 Well yes and no. Tolken paved the way for fantasy and the fact that both writers are from the same country only proves how LOTR influenced J.K work. That dont retract anything from her work. HP stands on its own. But Tolken CLEARLY helped her advance the story and set some examples.
The music for Harry Potter was made by John Williams, same guy who composed the music for Star Wars, Jaws, Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List, Home Alone, Saving Private Ryan, ET, And Indiana Jones.
Isn’t it just great?
These films are a coming of age story, that grow with each installment. So as you continue, they get darker and more serious. My cousin was slightly off-put by this series because the first film is for a rather young audience, as was the first novel. It gets good, and their is a reason he has to go back to his aunt and uncles.
Yes. I read that J K Rowling did that on purpose with the books. With each she increased the vocabulary levels and made the plots more complex so you could give the first book to a young child and they could grow up with the books. That's exactly what my daughters did.
This is my favorite reaction from you! I love how you get into it! “ I got mine from the dollar store.”
I backed it up many times😅😂
You are awesome❤️
Also, since you've been looking for books to read, you should definitely read these books after you watch the movies! The movies are great overall, but there's so much more in the books 💕💕
Now, the books flow a lot better, and make a *lot* more sense. Because the film-makers didn't always know what was going to be important later in the series. The books weren't all out when they started making movies. So things sometimes got left out.
Okay, I was literally JUST thinking about how I wished you would react to the HP movies while watching your ‘Mummy’ reaction. Can’t wait for you to get into these, they get so much better - more mature and significantly darker - once you get into number 3 and beyond. This series (the books and the films) meant so much to me growing up. I really hope you enjoy!
I thought the very same thing earlier today to 😊
Keep using your powers so he’ll drop more!😉 have a great night
The movies getting darker after number 3 really worked well because most of the audience grew up alongside the movies.

OMG!!!!! Leo u just made my day. Thank u. I called u and asked if u could watch this!!!
The mirror of Erised. "Erised" is "desire" spelled backward. Also, a lot of the spell incantations are a sort of broken Latin. "Oculus" is the Latin word for eye (oculus repairo fixed Harry's glasses), and leviosa or levitate comes from the Latin word levis which means to make light or weightless. I'd say Rowling should've left linguistics to Tolkien.
Great pick Leo! I love that you get to watch Harry find his home, after you just moved into your new home!

Also with the different houses like Gryffindor etc in UK schools we have usually four houses with different names and their own colours you just get put into, students earn points for their houses it doesn’t really affect much but like on sports days or any competitions you play in school you compete in your houses to try and win stuff. And at the end of every term we see which house won, for example in my school each house also had a designated charity linked to it so at the end of term the winning house would receive money for their charity. It’s very hard to explain, I didn’t know it was just a UK thing. 😂
Australia also does this. I wouldn't be surprised if Canada and other colonial countries copy this tradition too ^_^
Kenya also has houses..we must have gotten it from the UK
We have houses in Trinidad as well. Might be a commonwealth thing.
This movie is my childhood, came out when I was 13 who had basically inhaled the first four books in the series. The first movie did so many great things, from the casting to the set design to the special effects to the music this movie is top to bottom magical!
Leo is the kinda guy we all want to chill and watch movies with. :)
Fantastic choice!! Brings me back to my sons being little and would always watch Harry Potter with them ❣️
So glad you on this journey! Snape is my favorite character by far. The actor Alan Rickman is amazing and you have probably seen him before in stuff, perhaps as Hans in Die Hard.
Griffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, & Ravenclaw are the “Houses” of Hogwarts….. Kind of like dorms or even Fraternity/Sororities. They are divided into these during their first year at Hogwarts. They remain in these “Houses” throughout all their years at Hogwarts. So excited to see you exploring the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! The movies are amazing and the books are even better! Also- if your broom HAD taken off Leo….. I would’ve joined you in the skies tonight! Lol! Just kidding! Or am I?!?! 😂😂😂 As always….. Sending you lots of love & positivity from the coast of South Carolina!!! Love your reactions sooooooooo very much!!!💗💗💗 Just finished the reaction and wanted to explain about where Harry lives….. he lives with his Aunt Petunia- his dead mother’s sister- her husband, and their son, Dudley. They live on Privet Drive in London. It will be explained, in later movies, as to why he lives there(still). Also- he was at Hogwarts for a whole, School year. So about 9 1/2 months or so.
I just noticed i dont hear much about hufflepuff and ravenclaw that much lately why is that
@@ProfessorSnape22 easier for the story good vs bad then when the viewer are used to it you can branch out but they kinda still under use them
Malik Edmond the books delve into the other Houses a bit more than the movies do. However that being said…… Not anywhere close to the amount we learn about Griffindor, & Slytherin! Like- nowhere close!
Dorf?
Pog of Greed thanks for that! I didn’t even realize it was like that! I guess my auto-correct does that, because I’ve typed it so many times. My granddaughter- who is only 4 years old- love HP. But she calls Griffindor “Griffindorf.” She calls Harry Potter, “Harry Pottie.” Etc…… So when my family talks about HP we use her little sayings. Even on FB Posts and things like that. So apparently my auto-correct has started recognizing those terms. 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ If you hadn pointed it out, I would’ve probably never noticed! 😂😂😂
I’m a couple of years late to watching your content! I watched all your LOTR videos and now watching your Harry Potter reactions and I just want to say I absolutely adore you! You have the most bright and genuine smile and you make me laugh so much 🤍
I love this!!!! What a great reaction, you were funny while still actually seeming like you connected with the story. ❤️
- *THE TOWN (2010)*
- *PRIMAL FEAR (1996)*
- *GONE GIRL (2014)*
- *PRISONERS (2013)*
- *CATCH ME IF YOU CAN (2002)*
🔥🔥🔥🤘
Catch me if You Can & Primal Fear 🖤🖤🖤!! Gone Girl too! Good calls
You make make listening to music and watching movies so much more enjoyable!!!!! You have a GREAT personality , and you are so funny and entertaining. I just love you Leo.....You're the BEST !!!!!!!!
Leo you had me rolling in this one.
"Harry give me a couple gold pieces."
"He got a Hemi in it!"
"YOU GOT S NIMBUD 2000!? I got mine at the dollar store."
Also you sure you didn't go to this school? You calling out a lot of things that are going to happen. Like you took divination or something.
Oh my goodness, your reaction is my favorite! Grabbing the broom and then “there are trolls in the comments” 😂 😆 😂
Been watching your reactions for a year and I’m so happy I’m subscribed to your channel. Makes me laugh and cheers me up.
No matter what video he does. I always come back to hear the *YEEE* when he flops down.
I almost lost it when you brought out your broom!!! Such a fun reaction!!
I'm so excited for you to go through these movies. You're going to enjoy them. The Philosopher's Stone was the title in the UK and Sorcerer's Stone was the title in the USA it's the same movie though.
Wow I didn’t know you haven’t seen this & were planning to react to,them. I am so here for this, can’t wait! If I had one piece of advice it would be remember each movie is basically a year in Harry’s life and the movies mature and get more complicated as time goes by. But try to remember details, some things that happen or are mentioned or characters introduced in previous movies come back into play later as they go along. Enjoy the ride!!!
Griffindor-bravery
-nobility
Slytherin-power hunger
-resourcefulness
Ravenclaw-intelligence
-wisdom
Hufflepuff-authenticity
-comradeship
I'm a Ravenclaw.
Ravenclaw forever! 😏
Same here ravenclaw squad
I always end up in Slytherin 😭😭it must be my resourcefulness 😅
Hufflepuff forever!
The philosophers stone is a tale about a stone that will give you eternal life/healing. Its been said that they thought American audiences were too dumb to get the reference not understanding it was about magic and not philosophy so they changed it to The sorcerers stone. The movies only get better from here. I hope you watch them all
I absolutely loved your reaction! It was like I was watching it for the first time too! I could feel your excitement! Thank you!!
Even in the books, they never actually "explain" the mechanics of wand-making, just that this old guy, Ollivander, seems to have an exceptional ability to sense what wands are mad of. He can tell what a wand is just by looking at it and holding it allows him to know more detail. Maybe it's part of the magical training for Wand Making?? who knows.
Woah. Watching the mummy reaction yesterday I randomly thought I wonder if Leo’s ever watched the Harry Potter films and here it is… also if you’re confused Philosophers stone is the actual title but someone (I don’t know who) in America changed their title to Sorcerers stone because it sounded more magical.
It really is amazing how the Harry Potter story matures with the characters and with the audience
The first book/movie is a cutsie story about a boy going to a magic school with magic wands and broomsticks and mail-owls and jelly beans with funny flavors…
By the end it’s a gritty story of a 17 year old who’s trying to stop the fascist genocidal maniac who killed his parents
I mean… no spoiler warning on this? Really?
@@TransparentEclipse
My bad!! 😅 I really didn’t think that was giving too much away
I mean he already knows Harry turns 11 in this movie, so it stands to reason by the end he’d be 17
And he knows from this movie that Voldemort kills Harry’s parents
And it stands to reason that Harry’s going to try to stop Voldemort
You really just threw almost the whole future of the movie at him .. like were you that excited that you couldnt keep that to yourself?
@@coyotelong4349 yes, but he doesn’t know he’s on the run, this movie stays entirely in hog warts and there’s no reason to suspect differently, and he obviously wouldn’t know about the other thing u removed from ur comment either, which I appreciate btw. Idk I always put a spoiler tag on something when I’m talking about a later movie regardless of if it spoils anything or not just to be safe. Thank u for understanding
@@ProfessorSnape22
I really haven’t given anything away… What I’ve said is basically the equivalent of “By the end, Luke Skywalker and his friends are working to stop the Emperor and Darth Vader”
Or
“By the end, Frodo and the Fellowship are working to destroy the Ring and stop Sauron”
Like, it’s obvious that that’s what’s going to happen
That broom part took me out🤣🤣
Super excited to go on this journey with you 💯💯 much love from Detroit keep doing ya thing bro
Also Leo, considering that you mentioned an interest in reading, the Harry Potter book series is an EXCELLENT place to start 👍 Happy reading 📚
Love your personality fam, u pull me through the hard times fr I love watching your reactions , keep.doing what u do, stay blessed 🙌
@Mr.Video watching this with you has brought such great joy to me! I feel like a little girl again! Just like I did when I watched with my children and grandchildren! Thank you for this gift! 🥰
I absolutely loved watching this through your eyes. I have watched all these movies at least 20 times but it was like watching it for the first time. You are so fun!!
Youre hilarious! Loved your reactions to Happy Potter and I hope you’ll have time to watch them all! These movies are the favourite of my childhood
Man! You posting at the exact time the oven announced pizza is ready! Coincidence? I think not! Omg!! I’m super excited for all the Harry Potter videos coming, I hope you enjoy it! And by the end maybe you wanna read the books because believe me, it’s worth it!
You are killing it on the movie choices!! Harry Potter?! Oh heck yes, go on the journey! So stoked dude!!

You are so damn CUTE with that broom! Welcome to the club, our brooms still don't work either, don't worry. Lol
I've been a viewer for about 2 1/2 years and man i just gotta speak from the heart and tell you I love your content, your honest with yourself and your viewer's about who you are, and that's all that matters, fu*k RUclips and their restrictions I hope you can keep it up, much love brother.
It's always a treat to watch new Potterheads being introduced to the Wizarding World. Now you need to take the test to see which Hogwarts house you belong to. I'm Slytherin, but not evil, I promisssse...🐍🐍🐍
I know many folks will tell you to check out the books because so much backstory is left out of the films (along with other well loved characters). Like you, my husband started with the movies first. He said he never really had an interest in the books, being as they were considered children's' novels. Once he finished the films, it made him even more intrigued to dive into the books with all the details that weren't included in the movies. He is so busy with his job that he rarely has downtime to sit & read a novel. So he did the audiobook versions (narrated by Stephen Fry); while commuting to work, doing yardwork, going to the gym, etc. I just wanted to throw that suggestion out to you as an option to reading the seven novels.
I think you are going to enjoy this franchise, especially after already checking out Lord of the Rings. You're open minded to the genre of Sci-fi/Fantasy and all the outrageous things that can exist in those realms. After Harry Potter, there are also the "Fantastic Beasts" films, which takes place about 5 or 6 decades before Harry's saga begins. The 3rd chapter in that series is due for theatrical release in April.
Oh, as the movies go along, try to figure out how many Harry Potter actors you can spot that have gone on to also appear in both Game of Thrones and the Marvel superhero movies. Welcome aboard, hold on tight, & fasten your seatbelt because the ride gets more intense from here on out, my friend! :-)
Too long to read.
@@mikemorgan2211 Maybe if you have the attention span of a 3 year old lol.
@@kathleenclark815 Bravo, well said... that merits a well deserved "Dumbledore clap" LOL! :-)
Awesome series man! So badass you’re checking this out. I hope you do the whole series!!!
