Billy every 5 seconds: Is that Harry’s daddy?!?
😂
Ogawd I'm reading this before watching and I'm in tears laughing already because that's some On Brand Billy right there.
Lmao!!! I kept thinking the same thing. 😂
Omg! That’s what i was thinking! Like dude! His parents are DEAD! 😂

This is reminds me of that old series of videos where the guy calls Dudley "Ragtime Roast Beefy"
and saying "is he related to miss trunchbull?" without knowing she appears as his sister in poa hahaha
Lol! I thought the same thing!
SAME! 😂😂😂🐽👏
"No way, snape is a good guy?"
Why is this literally me throughout the entire series
"No way he's a good guy?" No way, he's a bad guy?" No way, he's a good guy?" And the cycle continues
Really? For me it was always on the nose.
And at the end he is the greatest of them all 😍😍😍😍😍😂😂😂😂 He fights for this title with Dumbledore to me 😎😎🙌🙌
Well if you watch the deleted scenes Snape points out this ,"I am sorry for the loss of your mother Lily." If you know how to decode "Wolfsbane,WormWood,Draught of living breath, and Bazaar.

“Without Hermione, they are dead.” Yeeep, way to sum up the entire series!
Heather. 😂
Well, in the movies ..
yup pretty much
It was either the screen writer or the director of the first movie whose favorite character was hermione and ended up basically buffing her and nerfing harry and Ron which became the trend you see in the movies
They only have a brain and half between the three and it seems Hermione is using the whole one most of the time
Billy saying “Her name is Hermione, where did Heather even come from?” Is giving me Olaf’s “I don’t even know a Samantha!” Vibes 😂
Best bit is he then started calling her Heather again
That was one of my favorite scenes from frozen 2
Harry Potter
Ron Weasel

You do realize Olaf is referencing Samantha from "Bewitched?" The witch who used to used magic and noted by wiggling her nose

Such a great movie, and the happiest of all the Harry Potter movies as the films get darker with every film. I really think Billy will like the Harry Potter films !!

Fun-ish fact: during the chess scene when that piece of the horse cut Ron’s cheek, it’s genuine, that chunk actually cut Rupert Grint’s face when they were filming
Woah damn! Didn't know this!
Holy damn 😲🥺
Dayum, that would hurt like a mofo, Grint took it like a champ I'm sure.
@@marykay8587
Indeed! He still kept acting after being hit and hurt. You can tell when it happens if you look at the scene knowing it now.
Oh wow, well that solves a mystery for me! I had literally always wondered how they filmed that scene without any cuts (in the film, not his face lol).
Ron is always slept on by reactors I’m so glad you giving him love he deserves
Yess! Sometimes not only reactors, the fandom too. Like, he gets attention, but not nearly as much as Harry or Hermione.

The composer for the movie is John Williams. He also did Jaws, Star Wars, Schindler’s List, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Home Alone and more.
So that's why the music is so good
I didn't realize he scored the HP movie. Makes so much sense now.
John Williams is the GOAT
@@RandomFandomDragon he only did the first 3
@@joseph_p no, not just the first 3. Or do you mean first 3 HP? The main HP theme was from Williams, which I think was in all 8 movies.
First of all: Heather 😂
Second of all: Ron Weasel! Lol
Third thing: Having read the books I always get mad when I see how dirty they did Ron in the movies. Like the Devil's snare for example, in the books Hermione figures out that the the Devil's snare likes dark and damp and Harry goes like "So light a fire" and Hermione goes like "Yes of course but there’s no wood" and Ron tells Hermione “Are you a witch or not?” and Hermione goes like "Oh, right!". So yeaah.
Have you ever watched "Dear Reader : Wizard People". Reminded me so much of that!
There’s a call back to that moment in the last book. Hermione says the same to Ron ☺️
Yeah, Hermione had a tendency to panic in real danger, and it left room for her to grow instead of being perfect from the start. Character growth is more interesting
as a Potterhead it's so satisfying to watch muggles get into Harry Potter series or start watching HP from the start because you sorta get to re-watch it through their eyes as im doing with Billy
Have you seen Rico Presents? He forced his girlfriend to watch it and honestly it is amazing 😂 highly recommend it!

Billy trying to predict every living thing being his parents is hilarious 😂. Billy this is not Star Wars, when they tell u his parents are dead, they are dead 💀
Lol don’t spoil it!
@@Wild_flower_415 I mean idk how that’s a spoiler when they straightup tell u his parents are dead like 7 times in the movie 😂, they don’t even mention Luke’s parents much in Star Wars
aww come on man... the parallels between the story arcs is amazing, can't fault a brother for catching those vibes
To be fair, there is a major plot point later in the series where someone presumed to be dead is actually still alive. Just not one of Harry's parents.
@@chrisdutton2975 yes, but that’s different. They say he’s dead twice. And then there’s a moment that makes u doubt it like half an hour later anyway. With this, they literally mention his parents being dead every movie multiple times, and there’s LITERALLY no evidence that would make u think otherwise 💀
“Cinderella, but for wizards”, is *EXACTLY* what this story is.
The main reason why the name Potter holds so much weight is not because of his dad, it’s because of Harry himself surviving a murder attempt by the most deadly dangerous wizard of the time. As a 1-year old baby.
Man called the troll a Charizard??
- this is Harry Potter, not Pokémon....
Cinderella is called "Askepot" in Danish (a reversal of "potaske", meaning potassium carbonate, which is apparently used in baking similarly to baking soda). No idea why they called her that. Maybe because of the "cinder" part and "aske" means "ashes"... In any case, the "pot" part is fitting for this whole Harry Potter comparison, lol.
"What's her name, Cyndi Lauper" 😂😂
@@nocontender6409
Fair enough.
I wasn’t upset; just surprised.
The name Potter was also already well known before Harry since they are an old pure blood family and Harry’s grandfather was a famous potions master but I agree that Harry has played a big role in the recognition of the name
"We don't got time for flirtin', Ron is slowly dying." 😂 I'm happy Ron seems like Billy's favourite- he got a short shift in the movies as they went on and Rupert Grint honestly was the best child actor out of the original three in the first couple movies.
Yeah, too bad he doesn't play a lot anymore. He's still a good actor and he can play very different roles. If I didn't know it was him, I would have never guessed it was him in the ABC murders.
@@nanalove3819 well servant season 3 is out in 3 weeks so we’ll see more of him then :)
I love Ron in the movies his my favourite in the books though it the weasly twins all the way.
I love that you call her Heather. When the books first came out no one knew how to say the name and most people just made up another name. Mine was Harmony.
That was close!
Haha mine was her-me-own.
My mom and I literally pronounced it the same way Viktor Krum did in the Goblet of Fire, until we actually read Goblet of Fire and realized we'd been pronouncing it wrong the entire time (which is probably why JK even wrote that bit about her trying to teach him how to pronounce her name correctly, lol)
I wonder how many kids met JK before Goblet of Fire came out (which was my first midnight release for HP, my mom and I caught up a few months before the book came out) that would tell her their favorite character was Her-me-one or some other hilariously wrong variation!

We binged all the movies this week! Also, each movie is ONE SCHOOL YEAR, so all this happened in his first year at Hogwarts.
I knew that and I'm still shocked. I would have dropped out forever.
Apart from the 7th film.
Watching Harry Potter for the first time as an adult is not the same feeling as watching it for the first time as a kid. It's truly a magical experience watching this franchise as a kid growing up along with Harry wishing you can go to hogwards as well. Kids from the 2000s grew up blessed.
True
I was 11 when the first movie came out in theaters read the book in class in school than my whole class went and seen the movie when it came out in theaters for a field trip when I was in 5th grade.
@@watermelonwatsittoya What an experience!
2010s kids had the Infinity Saga, 2000s kids had Harry Potter, 90s kids had the Disney Renaissance, 80s kids had "Steven Spielberg presents", etc...
@@jp3813 I was born in 1999 so technically I would be a 2000 kid and 2010's kid, right? Because I was a kid during both. Well I grew up watching Harry Potter I was 14 (2014) when the last movie came out in theaters. I never liked infinity saga or whatever;(
So what I've learned is, Dumbledore is Harry's great grandfather. McGonagall is Harry's grandma. Harry's father is an owl. And Heather (hermione) is a gangster. Good to know 😂
LOL 🤣😂😂 LOL!!!
And Voldemort is his sugardaddy
The owl is a girl. Hedwig would be Harry’s MOTHER, not father.
Lol I kinda want this version for real
@@StoryMing Wait, actually?
I've never been a huge Ron fan, but seeing him in this rewatch really made me appreciate him more. He went through a lot as a child, being friends with Harry, and he did the best he could.
the movies really did him so dirty, I was too not that fond of him for years but I started reading the books recently (currently is only on book 3) and realized how much of his character that went missing from the adaptation. he's much more 'street smart' than the movie depicted, because he grew up in a wizard household unlike harry and hermione so he knows a lot of helpful things that weren't in the books for hermione to study but from his own experiences or stories from his siblings/parents. the movies made him sort of the goofy/punching bag one in the group when he's much more than that, is also as brave and supportive and clever, and now I wish they did his character better :(
YESSS
Harry's paternal bloodline being the running gag of this video is killing me. XD What is this, Magic Maury!?
Also, The Thirteen Ghosts was an amazing movie! It was one of my first horror movies. Talk about classic!
I adore Neville. I love all the little facts that we learn about him near the end of the story. It really made me look at his Character in a whole different light.
In the books he feels a lot more like a part of the core group, because his parents were apart of the original order of the phoenix so the main 3 have a few more intense emotional moments with Neville. Like the moment at St Mungos when they are visiting Arthur after Naginis attack and they run into Neville visiting his parents. Heartbreaking, this was the first time I realised they were actually still alive just stuck there at the hospital after being tortured into madness.. Neville is such a complicated character 💖💕
@@Kyrridwen420 He really and truly is. I agree for sure that movie Neville isn't treated with near enough respect, and sadly he's not alone. One of my favorite Neville facts is that the reason he always messes up on magic isn't because he is bad, its cause he's using his uncles wand, and it doesn't like him. The moment he finally gets a new wand though? Bam

Funny you should mention the Trunchbull. Uncle Vernon has a sister who will show up later, played by the same actress who played her in the movie.

Answering some questions:
The teacher’s name you were looking for is Minerva McGonagall
It was over the span of a year, for example the troll incident happened on Halloween, Invisibility cloak on Christmas, so on and so forth. If you look back you will see that Hermione left Hogwarts for a Christmas Break, that’s why she wasn’t there to search for Nicholas Flamel or the Cloak.
His parents are dead (sadly), because the mirror of Erised shows your heart’s deepest desire. (Erised is desire spelled backwards) his desire was for his parents to be alive, therefore proving it.
(If you see something I missed feel free to point it out)
Heather, her name is Heather to him not Hermione 🤣👍
@@marykay8587 Ah yes, her name is Heather. Sorry 😌
Basically every movie at Hogwarts is like a whole school year.
That's why you need to pay attention to the scenery in the movies cause it will subtly change sometimes to show you time has changed.
Billy watches Harry celebrate Christmas halfway thru the movie, then continues to ask if this has all happened in one day. 😂😂

These movies are 20 years old and the CG holds up pretty damn well.

He's obviously going to enjoy this saga, and it will be really fun to watch :D
Some facts about this movie (man, there are so many that one could've easily made a book out of them, and it's still uncertain if all of them are found):
1) When designing the Dursleys' house, the creators intentionally selected the ugliest furniture they could find to increase the impression, so to say.
2) Before the "vanishing glass" scene, a group of students dressed in bright green uniform is seen exiting the terrarium, and the scene is centered around a snake. This is a subtle foreshadowing of the Slytherin house, the colors of which are green and silver and the symbol of which is a snake.
3) In the book, Hagrid confesses that he wanted to turn Dudley into a pig, but "he is already almost a pig, so it didn't work, and only the tail appeared".
4) Also in the books, it is clarified that Filch (the caretaker whom you called Scrooge in the library scene) is a Squib - a person born in a family of wizards, but deprived of magic, this is why he is so bitter towards students. However, Squibs still have more powers than Muggles, most often being able to establish connections with animals (when his cat sees that someone is causing mischief, she "calls" for him, and he immediately appears)
Oh I didn't know 1,2 and I forgot 3. Also didn't know all this about Squibs, you know the connection with animal part. Nice to know!
@@itspribanerjee Anytime. As about the animal connection, it is shown in the book with another Squib, the "crazy cat lady" Mrs. Figg. At one moment she explains that one of her cats called for her when Harry... got into a situation, so to say, and provided her the information on what happened
@@CarolinePhoenixMe oh yes correct. Mrs Figg. That’s correct wow I never figured this out.

All of Billy's guesses about how the series is going to go that are so completely wrong make me laugh every time. Harry's parents are dead, legitimately dead, the owls are not his parents, his parents were human, and Dudley doesn't die.

It’s said that because Harry was a Horcrux, and lived with them - this is what made them so horrible. If you remember in the last film when Harry turned quite oppressive wearing the necklace horcrux - it’s like that. There’s a deleted scene showing a nicer side to the Dursley’s in the films which I wish was left in, it was when he was finally leaving them for good.
@@michaelhardwick2928 that's actually wrong. McGonnagal told dumbledore, right before they left harry at the dursleys, that this family is one of the worst she has ever seen. Hi
Nah everyone but Slytherin were all for it considering Slytherin had won the previous 7 years in a row. Slytherin losing is just as good as Hufflepuff/Ravenclaw winning as far as they're concerned.
my main complaint about the movies is that James and Lily are shown to be 30/40 years old in the movies when they died at 19/20 years old which is one of the reasons its so sad - they traded school uniforms for war
I read/heard something about it being because of Snape, or rather Allan Rickman. He was supposed to be the same age as them and it would've been difficult to make him pass as being the age he would've needed to be, so instead they made Harry's parents older. I don't know if it's true, though.
They died when they were 21, but yes, agreed. Still, that would have made them 31 at the time of the movie takes place so that's okay. The problem... ah, comes /after/. No spoilers, tho.
@@VelkanAngels The problem is that it's been ten years since the first Wizarding War, so having the (dead) Potters and Snape look about the same age is still wrong. If they're willing to hand-wave Rickman being way too old for the part (which, to be fair, he was, but he killed it anyway) then they should've been willing to deal with James and Lily looking younger than Snape. Having the Potters look like they're in their thirties always kicks me out of the flow of the movie.
"Where did Heather come from??" Says the man who called Rue from the Hunger Games Tatiana at least heather is close to the original name...
"The next Harry Potter, they gonna have us in the movie"
Not only was this hilarious, but there's something deeply profound about it, and I don't know what it is.
“He’s misunderstood, he’s poor!” lmao I almost spit out my drink 😣😂😂😂
Billy being loud and wrong is always hilarious to me. Like you never know what wild shit he’s going to predict
The time line is roughly 1 year. It starts in late June with Dudley's birthday then ends a year later in early June with Harry finishing his first year and going back home.
School starts for them in September so they have roughly a 3 month summer. So, no, everything didn't happen in one day 😅
Harry's parents are indeed dead and are not secretly alive. As for Snape, he's a very complex character.
Hi
@@aasimaahil6720 ?
I will never be able to get over how his parents were suppose to be in their early or mid 20's when they died, but the movies made them look way older
That's because a lot of the other characters were played by actors that were older than the book-characters were supposed to be too. Would have looked even odder if only his parents were the right young age in the movies.
They would have been in their early thirties, which would have made James and Lily about twenty when they had Harry. But yes, I think all the adults were portrayed ten or twenty years older depending on the actor. :/

Fun fact about this movie, Robin Williams really wanted to do this, if he were to go for one of the roles he would’ve either wanted to be Hagrid or someone who makes an appearance and the third movie. I don’t wanna say because I don’t wanna give spoilers to Billy.
That’s interesting that Robin wanted to join
“I think that’s the fist black person I’ve seen in this movie. Is she all we get?”
No, there are other black kids. (Dean Thomas you would definitely have seen already) That’s Lee Jordan. Lee is not a girl. (There are more, but I’ve listed named characters I know of only)
Kingsley Shacklebolt, Blaise Zabini, and Angelina Johnson will come along later.
And Bem in the third movie
He probably didn't notice them because of how forgettable these characters are in the movies. They don't hold much if any weight to the story other than to deliver some information once or twice.
Wish we got to see more of them in the books and in the movies, though I don't know about that since J.K isn't the best at writing POC.
Billy, I just want to say that I really appreciate you and respect you. It’s been a shitty past years, but watching your videos has helped me find a safe place within myself. And it’s not because you tend to watch some of my favorite movies OF ALL TIME, but you really make my top RUclipsr’s list. Love ya ❤️💛💚💙
Sending you lots of love. Stay safe. Xx
The original title for this book/film is Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The UK 1st released the book with this title but for some reason when it was released in the US the title was changed to "Sorcerer's Stone"
I don't think I laughed so hard in any of your movie reviews.
I never expected seeing this series on your channel I'm 100% in for the ride.
I absolutely love that you’re starting this series. Totally here for this!
*3 headed dog appears*
Billy : “I bet you that’s Harry’s dad… yep… that’s his dad.”
😂😂😂
Fun fact, when turban man tells Harry about the broom and why it went all crazy during the quidditch match. If you look closely at the scene again you can actually see voldemort is cursing the broom by slightly moving his lips while snape is actually trying cast a protection but they made it seem so opposite cuz they made snaps mouth move so much more. Then when the fire happens the voldemort in the turban also freaks out which causes the broom to stop shaking
DYING when Billy said Vernon Dursley looks like Miss Trunchbull from Matilda 😂
Just wait til you get to the third movie…
The story takes place over the span of a school year. If you go back and look, they show Halloween, Christmas, springtime. It's like that in all the films.
This was such a smart move considering the 20th anniversary special came out today. I feel like a lot of people might come and watch this due to that fact.
😂 when I filmed this it was last month and I had no clue about the 20th year anniversary. It really was just luck of perfect timing
I love that he says Vernon looks like Ms. Trenchbull. Billy, the actress that plays Trenchbull will also play Vernon's sister in the 3rd movie. (And yes, Trenchbull is the principal. Ms. Honey is the teacher)
Gotta feel bad for Slytherin. You work your ass off brown-nosing for a whole year and at the award ceremony the clearly biased headmaster pulls a calculated number of points out of his ass to make your rival house win. Not only that but he awarded the points to some of the least rule-abiding students at the school.
Snape is said to be also heavily biased towards Slytherin and would award them points unfairly, but yeah I see comments too about how at least they shouldn't put up the Slytherin flags/decoration since the beginning of the feast and then rob them of their supposed win at the very end. boy that was cruel
When he started talking about Harry making a highlight reel after catching the snitch I literally almost died when he said he caught the golden ball in his mouth 💀😂
Hey, Billy, to answer your question: at least 10 months go by from the beginning to the end of the movie. Harry’s Birthday is on the end of July and the school year ends on June, so it’s almost a whole year.
All movies go through the entire school year, so yeah… a lot of time goes by in one movie.
His reaction to figuring out Snape was a good guy sent me! So focused and confused all at the same time!
Edit: Please keep the running joke of “Heather” through the series please!
The connection you made about the uncle’s sister without eleven knowing.. please continue to do the whole series so you can see it come full circle!
I watched this in a theatre with my family when I was just 9 years old!
My favorite day of the school year is the one where we celebrate Halloween and Christmas a few hours apart
Movie: Shows Harrys Birthday in summer, than shows christmas, than shows summer again
Billy: Was this whole thing just one day?
lol No Billy. Every movie, besides the last two, always play out throught one school year.
after this, Billy NEEDS to watch A Very Potter Musical. the humor is right up his alley--
“DID SOMEONE SAY DRACO MALFOY?” 😭
I’ve been a massive Harry Potter fan since I was a kid and I absolutely loved this! Was so fun watching it through your eyes, considering you hadn’t read the books - so interesting to watch from this perspective! Really enjoyed it 😄
I can't wait to see your next reaction to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets! Btw, every movie is one school year and it aligns perfectly with the movie number, so this first movie is their first school year at Hogwarts, second movie is their second year and so on, the only exception is that the last school year is split into two movies.
As a Harry Potter fan, I just have to say I’m not mad about the attempted jokes during the broomstick scene. Too many other people have made those jokes. XD
Put penis instead of wand whenever you hear it, or instead of book times, it’s hilarious🤣🤣🤣🤣
