TOTAL DISASTER! AMERICANS REACT to The Inbetweeners S1E2 ‘Bunk Off’

- Hey friends, welcome to RegenerationNationTV!
We’re Mike & Jess, and we love diving into music, TV, and culture from all over the world. This is a space where we explore new experiences, share laughs, and connect with amazing people like YOU!
Bunking off school sounded like a great idea... until it all went horribly wrong! 🍻 Simon, Will, Jay, and Neil take a wild detour from responsibility, leading to drunken chaos, an epic romantic fail, and some serious consequences. That driveway confession? Yikes. We’re loving how The Inbetweeners captures teenage awkwardness in the most painfully hilarious way!

Hope you enjoy the reaction! Let us know your thoughts in the comments! 💚💜
I've been waiting for the next inbetweeners reaction from you guys. This show is a perfect representation of life as an average teen growing up in Britain. Greg Davies was a teacher in the next school over to me in Slough before I moved and changed schools. But we love it so much because it really is like reliving our youth watching this show. Warts and all. 😂
@@DrTinyToffI'm from slough back in my youth I see changes in music heavy metal, mod, ska, reggae, skinhead, punk, new wave, brilliant times had by all
I imagine it's already been mentioned, but just in case. That big intimidating teacher is a comedian named Greg Davies, and before he was a comedian he was an actual teacher. He's done some great stories on 'Would I Lie To You?' Well worth a watch when you can find the time... I think you still have a good few Bob Mortimer ones to experience as well.
Will you do something after the entire show has been released? There was an American remake. Same name and characters. But I’d really love to see how you think it compares to the original British version. Lots of people hate it. I’m actually didn’t mind it too much. But it’s clear they ruined it and the characters are tree terrible. Worth a watch though. I always love and enjoy watching people compare the two. I mean, you’d only need to watch the first episode and you’d make your own judgement straight away. Please 🙏🏻 ?
You should react to Scottish comedy StillGame you won't be disappointed
Strap your self in Jess, Jay hasn't even got started yet 😂
i thought they've already watched them all? aint they just rewatching?
No this is their first time@@Tom-Renegades
Exactly what I was thinking. This is extremely mild. Wait until the mythical seaside milf.
@@Tom-Renegadesnope. They haven’t seen.
Worst that happens, you get nothing, best that happens, you get stinky fingers! 😂
Watching Americans squirm at uncomfortable comedy situations is my new favourite thing
"frothing at the gash" seemed to go over their heads lol
"Frothing at the gash".
Greatest line in TV history.
I don't think they heard the line 😢
Mate you a virgin?
It really is 😂😂😂
😂
Pretty sure that one sailed by.
I have seen other reactors look it up .... as if it was a common phrase.
I'm now imagining this short induction ...
Jess: What's gash ?
Jay: It's a slang word for clunge.
I'm really proud of Jess for giving this a shot, I knew it'd be well out of her comfort zone so well done 😁
I'm kind of waiting for Jess to get to the fashion show, but then there are so many other good bits! 😀😀😀
Yeah the fashion show. Legendary episode! 😂 Oh, and the gig, with Will’s arms gets me every time.
The worst part of the in-betweeners is the fact that is has to end, the last episode feels like just a normal episode and on your first viewing you think there must be more episodes! At least we got two good films out of it though
It’s quite a testy episode to watch
I watched a podcast where the guy who plays Simon confirmed that it's not a prop but is in fact his own testicle 😂😂 that too me just makes it even funnier 😂😂
Thorpe park is the one I’m waiting for
Fun fact. Greg Davies is 6ft 6, he’s a huge guy!
before he was a comedian, he was an actual teacher.
6ft 8" .....the extra inches matter.
"He's very respectful to adults". Me laughing knowing what is coming up 😄
I know right 😂
Greg Davies, who plays the teacher, was actually a teacher before switching to comedy/acting. You can see him in things like Would I Lie To You and he's also The Taskmaster in another great British show. Loved both of your cringy reactions - I'd forgotten how hilarious In Betweeners is, so great to rewatch it.
And he’s a mountain.
They should look up greg davies on the Graham Norton show. Greg's shows Cuckoo and Man Down are hilarious too!
@@ceedaviesyip the story about the deaf pupil.
Also check out his series 'The Cleaner'.
Cuckoo is well worth a watch!
Speaking as a former British teenage boy this programme is definitely an accurate portrayal of how we behaved. 😂
My mother resorted to “I’ll always love you, but I’m finding it very hard to like you right now”
Lol.
Yeah.
I've been there too.
UK.
9/2/2025
I felt that.
Brutal 😂😂😂
Clever Mum.
The 'nuclear' put down phrase in our home when someone did something really bad was my mother saying "I'm so disappointed in you...", it was like saying she wished she hadn't given birth to you.
Im so excited, been waiting all week for the next episode
me too!
I have watched the inbetweens loads of times but I don't think I have laughed as much as I have. Jess's reaction is priceless
I love these reactions!!!
"What's he going to knock up? A closet for you to hide in..?" LOL
Someone who is gay but pretends not to be or just blokes joking with each other would say your in the closet. A closet means to me a wardrobe/cupboard, knocking up means building a closet/cupboard. Because they think he's gay and the man who turned up with him is for the joke a carpenter (someone who builds things with wood) it's a clever joke building a closet for Neil's dad to hide in (metaphorically) from pretending he's not gay.
I’m looking forward to your introduction to Jays dad & the caravan club 😂
I love how Jess reads the situation so well, relating to both sides, and picking up on the different characters & personalities. Like how Will is socially awkward and can't read the room. Jay's character evolves into being quite complex around the reasons that he is full of BS all the time, and I bet that Jess picks up on that too!
From reactions of our shows, the women always seem to be better at analysing characters and their personalities
And already realising Carly is a tease.
It's so much better watching these again and being able to see the reaction of people watching it for the first time. You're in a for a right treat
From the UK, I'm really enjoying re-watching 'Inbetweeners' with you guys, I have tears in my eyes from laughing. Can't wait for episode 3!
ahh i love this, seen the inbetweeners several times, but love watching people discover it. cant wait to watch it all again with you guys.
Seeing Neil's dad made me think of a hilarious series you would absolutely love called "PLEBS."
Biggest mistake I made was telling my friends I fancied my neighbour, she was In her early 30s, they immediately knocked her door and told her, for fuck sake😂😂
this is great lol...some of the best reactions I've seen to The Inbetweeners and I've literally seen every single one uploaded to RUclips over the years..excited for all the episodes and I hope you guys do the movies at the end :)
Let’s go , been waiting for this
I think I have watched inbetweeners about 50 times through and watched 6 different reacts to all the way through. Looking forward to the rest of this. When I’m 90 I will still find this relatable.
Wait until you meet Jay's dad. It perfectly explains why he lies compulsively and over compensates so much.
Poor Jess, before the end of series one she gonna be watching from behind the sofa, or with her lovely head covered with a paper bag, just peeking through eye holes. We love you guys,.
The faces when Will went on his Bumder rant.... lol funny as...Glad you are doing this, best series, remember to do all and the films...
You might be a little unsure on jay’s crudeness but by the end you’ll love him the most, the best character by far, he’s fantastic! 🙌🏼
OMG the look of horror & shock on your faces at Will were priceless, I was laughing so hard at your reactions I think a little pee came out & had tears rolling down my cheeks. Being from the UK I can attest to the realism of this show mirroring virtually every teenage experience ever, in fact I'm still like it some decades later at times. Everyone has known a Jay growing up.
The way you were both sat there mouths wide open watching Will have a go at Neil’s dad had me in stitches 😂😂😂😂
One of THE BEST series in TV history 😆
I love The Inbetweeners and surprisingly really enjoyed watching you watch it. I hope you do every episode.
You ain't seen nothing yet 😂😂😂
Nice to see more people from over the pond find this show funny. This is such a true reflection of the average male friend group dynamic in the UK. Me and my mates find it so relatable.
The series only gets better as it goes on. Looking forward to see your reactions to the rest of the episodes.
Im 45 now, forgot how good this actually was. Ive never rewatched it since its first airing.
lmao...the look of horror on your faces when the secretary said Gilbert was in the office and then the camera panned to him. It was like you were reacting to The Exorcist. You're so invested in these characters already and it's only episode 2.
Only series i can watch over and over, funny every time.
I love the inbetweeners, and this has to be the greatest episode imo. The scenes in this episode are still quoted all the time
"It's only episode 2!" Yes, guys, and it only gets better from here on in!
frothing at the gash...............sheer poetry
Their brains refused to process it and it never happened heheheh
Don't you dare stop watching this series! 😁
Watching these back especially with the Karl Pilkington stuff really does make me appreciate more what I grew up watching… took it for granted definitely. 🤣🤣
I remember when I bunked off from school my mate decided to tell the teachers I had gone to commit suicide for a laugh. They took it seriously and rang my mum and before I knew it the police were banging on the door and my mum came home crying..... I was in serious crap lol.
31:03 something else you’ll maybe notice , Jay seems to avoid ever getting in trouble or told off. Like his parents weren’t round at the end and his parents probably never found out.
Watched this show growing up, on repeat for years and glad it's still getting laughs. You guys seem great!
It gets even better also don't forget to watch the two movies after this series the Inbetweeners movie & the inbetweeners 2 rewatched them multiple times 😊
Don't let your kids hear your logic in reacting to these episoides, they'll have a free pass for any trouble for a year! lol
Cheers guys.Brilliant!
I have to say if you enjoying them this much now you will love them later on as they get so much better. I have to say I am enjoying your reaction more than I have anyone else's so thank you!!
Greg Davies is the teacher, you'd enjoy his stand up comedy if you ever come across it
Both of the movies are priceless, plus their head of year used to actually be a teacher 😂
You guys should make reels and shorts of your reactions! i swear you will go viral! "American couple reacts to British Inbetweeners!" then show your reaction at 16:37 lmao
I am so glad you are continuing to watch this series you two. it is very teenage British humour /banter, its so funny to see Jess reactions.
Really enjoying rewatching these with you!
Please watch them all every episode 😂😂❤
I love that you guys are watching these. This is iconic British culture in it's rawest form and it's briilliant to watch some outside perspectives on it.
We're just getting started, it gets better. Theres always a Jay when there's a group of lads.
i love how jess's laugh on every joke in the inbetweeners so far
“Carly is a better friend”
You’ll be regretting that statement by the end of the series and movies
Mate giving to much away
@ How? What exactly did I say that is a spoiler?
@@marktallentire3464 you're insinuating that she isn't the better friend. Which means things will happen that will lead people to think that way.
@@marktallentire3464 Your comment clearly is a spoiler, How could you not see it that way?
@@marktallentire3464 Handy hint for future reference: if your statement refers *at all* to anything that happens, any events, any character developments, *anything* in a future episode, it's very likely a spoiler. It sets up an expectation and robs the person of the chance to experience it without any pre-conceived ideas. So if you write something that fulfils the above criteria, read it again. And again. And then choose not to post it.
I must of watched every episode at least 10 times, still makes me laugh
Must HAVE
The stinky fingers reaction bit,lmao
“It’s only second episode” is the understatement of your channel so far 😂😂
You have no idea what’s coming your way lol
Mr Gilbert was actually a school teacher before he was an actor aswell 😂
2 things worth watching based on your observations: Greg Davies on The Graham Norton Show (ep with Jodie Foster) talking about being a teacher, and after your comments on mates sticking up for each other when lying to parents - Harry Enfield's "Kevin Lies"
Greg Davies' story on GN was hilarious! The reaction of the other guests was just perfect.
I must admit I was surprised when Jess said Jay was her favourite after episode 1. I did wonder how long it would take for her to change her mind 😂 And this is ‘mild’ Jay 🫣
Totally loving the re experience of this show, watching you squirming makes it so enjoyable…really great reactions guys, love it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
can't wait for episode 3. A week is too long. Great laugh.
keep these coming, the birds got it spot on her laughs so contagious 🤣🤣🤣
I’m 45 and used to refer to women as “birds” until a few years ago when I thought I should probably mature my language some. Seeing it written down in your comment makes me realise how dumb I must of sounded!
oh pack it in you helmet, theres always someone to offend 🤣🤣🤣 45 and still the least grown up in the room
@@ykessaaa404 yeah, if I sounded anything like you, dumb is the appropriate word! And I’m not offended I’m appreciative, you’re telling me I’m doing right!
You’ve really only dipped your toes in the water 😂
Every episode just gets worse and worse - in the best possible way!! ❤❤
The look of shock on Mike and Jess faces throughout this episode is fantastic!!
W reaction. Mr Gilbert was actually a Head Teacher before he got this role. This role was his first ever appearance on TV. It literally kicksttarted his entire career and now he's a full time comedian/Actor/presenter.
Greg Davies plats the teacher so well because he was a teacher! Check out some of his outrageous stories on a show called "Would I lie to you "
He also tells a few 5 star tales when he appears on "The Graham Norton Show"
or just his own stand ups, where he goes into detail about everything.
plus a bit in taskmaster I guess.
This classic show also has an amazing soundtrack of many indie pop and rock artists :-)
Loving these reactions guys, like others have mentioned this was exactly what it was like for most of us at school, timeless classic. Looking forward to the rest 👌
"he (Will) doesn't read the room very well"
Thats perhaps the best summation of Will's character
Woo episode 2 lets go! ❤😂
"Best that can happen, you get stinky fingers" Oh man, watching you guys watch this makes it all so much funnier.
Haha... you wait Jess, this is just the warm up!
Love watching your reactions- buckle down there is sooooo much more in the other episodes, the fashion show I’m particularly looking forward to you watching 😅
Watching you two watching this is soooo much fun 😅
Off shoot from this is "Friday night dinner" also featuring Simon Bird... just as good 😂😂😂
Really enjoying these reactions
I’m from the Uk and have never watched a single episode until I watched your episode 1 reaction now I’m invested
i hope your prepared for a wild ride & i think Jess is going to blush alot, some of the best british comedy ever
I cannot wait for the theme park episode.
I was planning on watching these again, I'll wait for your uploads and join you on the ride ;)
I was 18 when The Inbetweeners first televised and for me and my group of mates it was so relatable. I was always likened as Will and my best mate was Jay 😅.
The joy of you guys watching this is great !! Great reaction as always !!
As stated , "you ain't seen nothing yet " nice one
All will be explained about Jay when you meet his dad.
There are 2 films as well. You're in for a right treat.
😂😂😂 I can't wait for you two to see the later episodes 😂😂😂 They get a lot worse or is that better 😅 hilarious
Please keep the series going 👏🏻
This is the height of British culture, keep going... if you dare
Love how Carly gets Simon off the hook with both sets of friends after she hears Jay bad mouth him and she switches to saying it's cool.
I love Jess's reaction to cringe moments like these. More like these please Jess
You were right that Will is respectful to the parents. That’s part of his OTT reaction to Simon’s mum - he couldn’t quite believe he had lied to a parent. And also why he was so easy to goad with Neil’s dad
He is pretty easy to manipulate peer pressure
Welcome to the inbetweeners , arguably the best British show ever, so so good, seen this so many times and still makes me cry laughing
This was hilarious re-watching it with you guys 🤣🤣🤣Unfortunately not on Patreon, so i guess we just gonna have to wait. All the best from Denmark ❤
So glad you guys love it 🎉🎉🎉
Buying booze is much more lenient in the UK than America, you can find a corner shop like in this scene and you’d get served no problem without ID 😅
You can go into a Asian shop and get served no problem and without I.d.
