i never hated you and I'm like a huge potter fan. i find your reactions hilarious. even if you miss details, that's the point of being a first time viewer. of course everyone misses things or gets things wrong on their first time.
I'm not a big potterhead but I do like the movies. I like them even more with your commentaries though! #Bingers ▪Jurassic Park movies Cause dinosaurs are cool 🦕 🦖 ▪Sleeping Beauty Not only is it fun but tells who Maleficent really is: the Mistress of Evil 🧙🏻♀️🐲 (PLEASE watch before the other 2 movies as they totally change her character) ▪The Original Jumanji Tells where the game originally came from & has Robin Williams in it! ▪The Original Star Wars Trilogy 4 A New Hope, 5 The Empire Strikes Back & 6 Return of the Jedi ▪Addams Family & Addams Family Values Not the new ones but the ones from the '90s ▪Die Hard Cause it's awesome. 😎
Idk of anyone has stated this but its never said in the movies i dont think but Tom aka Voldermort. He is the product of a love spell. Hes mother gave his father a love potion which ya know is agianst people consent and the result is a child born who can not love or show affection.
Also, Harry didn't excel in that potions class just because he had an advanced copy of the book. The book said "property of the half blood prince" which we now know is snape. He had written all sorts of notes in there that went against the actual text of the book, which is why harry was able to produce the potion so easily while no one else could (crushing instead of cutting ingredients, etc). Makes sense since Snape was the potions master previously before Slughorn took over. In the textbook, Harry also saw writing that said "sectumsempra - for enemies". It didn't say exactly what it did, so Harry used it on Draco without knowing what it would do. It's basically a spell that cuts you all over with an invisible sword. Snape comes in and uses a counter spell to heal Draco (vulnera sanentur), which obviously he knows because it's the counter to HIS spell.
@Myles Riley in the book the fight went a lot faster so he didn't have time to think. Just said the first spell that came to mind. Draco was also about to kill Harry. He was using unforgivable curses
Just to clarify: Harry almost killed draco, yes, but he didn't know what that spell actually did before he used it, he read it as a side note in his potions book, it just said "to be used on enemies"... Yeah, it's wrong to use unknown spells
They didn't ignore what Harry did to Draco. The scene immediately after was them saying you need to hide this book as it's not healthy for you. He'd read the spell that he had used on Draco in that book and it just said "for enemies" but he didn't know what it did. When he used it and nearly killed Draco he was shaken up and realises he was taking the advice of the book too far. It's less clear in the movies but in the book he's much more fixated on finding out who the half blood prince is. I think he even at one point believes it might have been his dad so knowing they invented a spell that could kill someone shakes him up too 😊
My theory on why muggleborns such as Heather/Hermione tend to excel at Hogwarts is because they grew up without magic, and because it's so special they want to know all about it. Meanwhile, the half-bloods and purebloods have grown up with magic, and therefore consider it "exceptionally ordinary"
While that may be true initially, the prestige of being able to do magic would definitely wear out quickly. Hermione isn't the norm, she is hungry for knowledge and wants to excel, but she would probably be the same in a muggle school.
that could make sense, but Harry grew without magic too, so he should do the same by this logic. I just think this is who Hermione is. She would do the same in a muggle school. She just likes to learn and be the first of the class.
@@NolaAlon She had good, attentive parents with good education and jobs. Harry had the Dursleys, a cupboard and lots of abuse. Not the best environment. Also while Hermione might have been thrilled by the idea of magic, Harry was probably just glad to be in a world where he's accepted and his parents aren't constantly namecalled 😄
I am cackling at your reactions to these. It’s okay that you’re missing some stuff, there’s a lot packed into these films. Might not catch some of it until a 3rd watch through. I hope you’re enjoying these and I hope everyone remembers that people are allowed to have different tastes in films/books and that’s okay! Be nice to Billy, y’all 💖
There’s a lot packed in, and there was still a ton of stuff that they had to cut for times sake from the books 🤣 I think the writers did a pretty good job
I do think, especially in some movies more than others, they don’t do a good job of explaining certain things. Most of that is for time constrains or avoiding boring exposition, but things made a lot more sense once I read the books and actually understood “the rules” behind most of the world.
Kind of a different story tho. People only read the name and were unfamiliar with the correct pronunciation. In the movies the names are said, but billy then forgets and improvises better names 😂
Here's a fun fact for you--the actress who protrays Professor Trelawney, Emma Thompson (the divination professor with big curly hair and glasses) was married to the fraud professor in the 2nd movie (Kenneth Branaugh) until he left her for Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange). This occurred before the movies, but just an interesting tidbit lol.
@@rainecormier2935 Haha I just saw that movie for the first time a few months back and I said to my roommate “Wait, SNAPE IS MARRIED TO TRELAWNY????” It’s so funny how many movies the HP adults have all been in together. I think Sense and Sensibility had like four of them all in the same movie!
And also also, actually actually, if you don't mind going back a few movies, in PoA, the actress who played the Fat Lady (the portrait at the entrance to the Gryffindor dorms), was married to the actor who did the voice of the shrunken head on the Knight Bus.
fun fact: they don’t really say this in the movie but harry gives his winnings from the goblet of fire in the fourth book/movie to fred and george weasley so they can open their joke shop! so happy you kept watching these movies billy! i’ve been meaning to rewatch my favorite series and now i get to do it with your commentaries! ⚡️
I am a huge Potterhead, my office at work displays that lol. I still love watching your commentaries. What’s funny is as much as I love HP (huge book fan here) the films didn’t exactly do the series justice. I still enjoy them for what they are but a tv series (done correctly) would have been much better. ❤️ Nothing but love, Billy. You’re commentaries just wouldn’t be the same if you got all the names right lol.
I would love if they rebooted the series for a television series. I think that would be good not just for old fans but newer ones too so they could incorporate more of the books and fill in what the movie either didn't include or changed.
Agree. Books show magic year round, wish they would have done that in the movies too. Books are always better IMO, but the movies are fun to watch. 2 movies left. Love your commentary.
Billy, when professor Slughorn says Harry's mom (Lilly) is "Muggle born" he means her parents were both muggles. She wouldn't be allowed to attend Hogwarts if she herself was a muggle. (Muggle aka non-magic folk/people) And same goes for Hermoine, both her parents are muggles, Hermoine is not a muggle.
the way you said you hate the way luna talks but that’s actually the way evanna (the actress) talks in real life is so funny LMAOOOO. great reaction though. 😭
Sad note: Slughorn's story about the magical fish that Lily gave him and how: when he came downstairs and looked at it one day, it had vanished and so he knew that she was dead, *because a wizard's magic only stops when they do.* -It's a double one because, up until now, the audience is lead to believe that Slughorn only cared for his Slug Club members to cash in on their fame and get gifts from it. *However, upon learning that Lily died; he was completely devastated, showing that he did care for their well-being.*
@@Angelaalva24 when I heard people were upset at him calling Hermione “Heather” I was baffled. Like cmon that’s hilarious! Him calling Lavender “Savannah” KILED ME! I was dying laughing. Like just enjoy the comedy 😂
Neat little thing that might go over your head: Hermione until now was a genius in potions because Snape taught Potions by writing the recipes on the board. She sucks now because Slughorn teaches by having students read the textbook. Why does this make a difference? Because since Harry had Snapes old textbook, that means Snape includes his improvements when writing the recipes on the board.
Okay the love triangle is as follows. Hermione loves Ron, and basically treats Harry as a brother friend. Ron loves Hermione. Ron is scared that Hermione loves Harry. Harry thinks of both Ron and Hermione as like sibling/friends. Harry has his love interests outside of the main three.
@@jacky79322 The way the movie portrays them definitely makes it seem like these two have feelings for each other. They certainly have better chemistry than Ron and Hermione in the films.
@@scorpiocarnage1055 No, there's nothing romantic in their portrayal at all. The actors may have good chemistry, but they've been setting up Ron and Hermione since the 2nd movie, it became blatantly obvious that Hermione has feelings for Ron in the 4th movie when she hinted she would have wanted him to ask her to the ball, she basically tells Harry she loves Ron in this one when she's crying and heartbroken over Ron, and Harry is clearly interested in Ginny throughout this movie (and in Cho for the two movies previous). Neither of them has ever shown any romantic interest in the other, at all.
@@MsMaggyW I know what I've seen. Poor Ron is treated like a goofball who is along for the ride in the movies. He contributes more in the books but the way the movie portrays him, it's a wonder what Hermione sees in him in the first place.
Actually, Helena Bonham Carter wasn't an aunt in Dark Shadows; she was Dr. Julia Hoffman, a psychiatrist. I also liked her in Sweeney Todd, one more movie with Johnny Depp.
@@glowormrdr6183 you're right. It's been years since I seen the movie & thought she was part of the family 😂 her and Johnny Depp have always done amazing work together
She also dresses up and acts JUST like bellatrix for all the kids that come to her house. many will have only known her from the books and not so much the movies... so they think she's REAL. How awesome is that?
Bellatrix Lestrange is the evil woman that keeps setting things on fire and killed Sirius and others. As much as I hated her character in the books I was ecstatic to see the actress Helena Bonham Carter portray her because that woman can act and I knew she would portray Bellatix's type of crazy very well. One thing you seem to have confused is that muggle means someone with no magic. Hermione isn't a muggle. She's a wizard that is muggle-born because her parents have no magic but she does. She's a muggle-born wizard. A squib is someone who has no magic but has at least 1 wizard for a parent. They are wizard-born muggles. So Hermione has a distant relative that was a squib that married a muggle and the magic in their bloodline showed up in Hermione.
I also wanted to add something on to the whole “savannah” thing. The movie missed out a lot but her name is actually Lavender Brown. They explained in the books she had a crush on Ron throughout the year and shooted her shot, but as the relationship progressed, Ron was beginning to feel disconnected from her. On Christmas, she sent him a gold necklace with her pet name for him “won won” and expected him to wear it. Ron openly confessed to Harry that all he and Lavender ever did was make out, they never did anything else like go on dates and stuff which is what he wanted. After he was poisoned, she’d visit him in the hospital wing but he would always pretend to be asleep to just avoid her. Eventually he dumped her and she took it pretty hard.
Harry and Hermione are 100% just friends. There's going to be moments in the next movie that some people think is romantic between them but they really only care about each other as friends.
They’re siblings born to different families. 💛 That said, I think it was confusing because Rowling herself was conflicted. She said in an interview that putting Ron & Hermione together was fan service to herself; yet also admitted that Harry and Hermione likely would have been a healthier match. I suspect she wanted them both to join the Weasley clan “officially”.
@@rivendells_shona i also take “healthier” with a grain of salt in regards to Rowling. Ron and Hermione are incredible together. And he always supports her, even more so in the books. By now we all know Rowling’s common sense of people is bad. Starters for how she defends snape all the time💀
@@valentinafangirling yet her sense also ultimately chose to put them together, anyway. Truthfully, I take everything with a grain of salt. It’s one thing for an author to tell fans “well, I debated long which direction to take a story and this is why” and quite another to say “oh, I thought X would be a better decision but I totally shipped Y, so I did Y.” It suggests a lack of confidence in creative decisions, just as announcing a character is gay after the story is complete and that announcement has no bearing on the story or that character’s development *in* the story, also shows a lack of confidence. And arguably, her admission is what opened the door for Ron & Hermione’s bitter divorce in The Cursed Child-a play largely panned by HP fans. 🤷♀️ That said, while I really liked book Ron and his relationship with Hermione, based strictly on what we saw on screen, Hermione and Harry had far fewer toxic interactions than Hermione and Ron. (And yes, film Harry was also nicer-for lack of better word-than book Harry. So that is also a contributing factor.)
fun fact- all of the students were cast and signed on since the first movie. The producers didn't know which students would become important in later stories, so they just signed ALL of them for multi-movie contracts
yeah except lavender brown bcause she was originally cast in first movies as black actress but when she beacame bigger role they casted white actress :/
The name “Voldemort” comes from the saying “I am Lord Voldemort”, as you saw within the second film. His real name is Tom Marvolo Riddle, so if you switch the letters around, it says “I am Lord Voldemort.” Yes, the horcruxes is what keeps Voldemort alive, since he keeps multiple parts of his soul within them. There are seven in total. There is no “love triangle”, Hermione and Harry are just simply very close, like in a brother and sister way. Snape is the Half-Blood Prince because his mother was born a witch and his father was born a muggle. His mother’s last name was Prince. Also, why did you sound like an ambulance when you did the whistle from the Hunger Games??? 🤣🤣🤣 Can’t wait to see your reaction to the last two films.
I want someone to write a short story of the day Tom Riddle decided on the name Voldemort. Like you just know he was trying to move those letters around going…okay so I definitely want to go with lord…because obviously I am one…now…what the F do I do with the V?? I mean, I love Harry Potter but the most sociopathic and gangsta thing Voldemort ever did was trick a whole lotta grown people to follow someone who chose the name lord Voldemort.
I think he meant more like "why that anagram specifically?" And the answer to that is because J.K. Rowling likes using names with meaning and particularly likes using Latin and the name roughly means "flight from death".
@@Psykochic916 A lot of others have done the same. I love reading others’ comments as well since I’ve only read the books twice and I don’t recall a lot of info myself.
Also, Slughorn “collects” students in the sense of identifying which are most likely to become famous or secure powerful/influential positions, and establish himself as a mentor to them while they are at Hogwarts… so as to claim some credit for their success. Definitely kind of creepy but not perverted.
Voldemort means flight of death in French. He was able to rearrange his full name (Tom Marvlo Riddle) into “I am Lord Voldemort” and that’s part of how he got his names. This book goes so far into his backstory and explains so much
voldemort was specifically what is called a TABOO, which is what made it so when people said that ENCHANTED NAME by what is called THE TABOO spell, that he'd know where said persons would be and almost no shield would stop him from being able to show up to the area it was spoken and trace who spoke the name.
Avada Kedavra is the killing curse, what Harry survived as a baby due to his mother's love that protected him. Basically every time you see a spell that's green, that's the killing curse. That was also used to kill Sirius and Cedric. If you use it, you get sent to Azkaban (prison).
oddly i the book Moody had all the kids shoot him with it and all it did was tickle, at most barely sting and at the very most it gave him a nose bleed. also... Snapes was BLUE. remember... wandless magic and psyche out magic saying one thing and meaning another. it's rampant throughout the book and JK's extended writings for extra source material via her website and the original websites archive link
37:27 I read the book when it came out, (my daddy stood in line and bought it for me, that's the level of potterhead we at over here) I threw the book aside and cried like a baby!
What is Butterbeer made of in Harry Potter? For all the Harry Potter fans out there, Butterbeer is probably the most popular drink. Made with soda, sugar, heavy cream, butter and a tinge of rum, this drink offers a blast of flavours. If you love whipping up some unique recipes at home, then this beverage is a must-try for you.
They explained how Voldemort went from Tom Marvolo Riddle to Voldemort in the second movie. He hated his muggle (a person with no magic powers) father so he didn't want to keep his name. He created a new name by making an anagram out of his name when he was 16. "I Am Lord Voldemort" remember? Hermione is NOT a muggle! She is muggle born. Meaning she is a witch born to 2 muggle parents. She has powers. Her parents don't. There's a difference. There are lots of muggle born students at Hogwarts not just Hermione. The movies tried to make people think there was a Harry/Hermione thing but they thought of each other like siblings/friends not a love interest.
It's not that you make mistakes Billy, and it's not that we resent you for being you. Keep being you my dude. I think most of the people who complain aren't expecting you to be reverent towards the films or shows, they just want a slight amount of respect towards these pieces of art that have shaped their lives, thoughts and upbringing. But you do you my man! 🙂
Snape being the Half-blood prince is because he is a half blood meaning that his mother is a witch and his father is a muggle. Meanwhile, the 'Prince ' came from his mother's last name.
Theres a line where draco talks about how he wants to jump off the astronomy tower, so in that one clip he was thinking about jumping because of all of the guilt and pressure he had on him. He couldnt bring himself to do it though
Harry and Hermione (aka Heather) have a sibling relationship. They really love each other but never romantically. Also to correct the part where Harry has the ‘Advanced’ book. Everyone had the same book but since it was the Half Blood Prince’s (aka Snape) book he did modifications to the instructions for the potion to make it easier. That’s why Heather was struggling with it too. the spell that made Draco bleed was Snape’s spell that’s why he knew how to counteract the spell. I do agree with the magic being used in the movie is not as much as the books but it’s school they won’t teach every single spell in one grade. They also have different subjects that’s why some students knows spell that other’s dont. In Heather’s case she could attend all the classes because of that time necklace back in Prisoner Of Azkaban that’s why she knows a LOT of spells. Also she studies before attending class that’s why she could answer all the professors answers. Honestly by saying Harry is the ‘chosen one’ it doesn’t make him the most powerful. It’s just name a people gave because he’s related to Voldermort somehow. No one or even Harry himself knows why he is the ‘Chosen One’. I also like how even the most powerful wizard like you said needs help. I feel as though even though a person has so much power everyone needs helps somehow. It’s a good thing to ask for help when you can’t do certain things rather than being cocky and act like a know it all but instead everyone is asking or giving someone help so no one ever felt they are alone in their fight which to me is very meaningful in a way.
Congratulations 🎉🎉. I'm sure it hurt, but I'm sure there was a good reason why she wasn't there. I hope you can forgive her eventually. I'm sure you will be great as school captain.
Thank you Billy for continuing this series! I know fans were giving you a lot of shit for your reactions. I will enjoy this reaction just like I did all the others! Let’s go Heather! 😂😂
"Savannah" is Lavender Brown. Interestingly enough she was actually Black in the first few films (as a background character), but they decided to change her race when casting her for this film.
the only thing i will say about Snape is that he is one of the best written characters and is such a complex character there will be more that makes you question his loyalty. Also the name Voldemort comes from Tom in the 2nd movie the memory of Voldemort writes his full name which is Tom Marvol Riddle and if you arrange the letters from his name it will come out as I am Lord Voldemort. I cant wait to see your reaction to the next movie my only advice is to have some tissues next to you because there are some deaths that are very sad
Ron's girlfriend's name is Lavender Brown. Also, ain't no love triangle: Hermione is in love with Ron. Harry and Hermione have a brother sister relationship. They've never been in love with each other.
Billy, I won't lie, I am a huge HP fanatic and have been for over 20 years. That being said, I come to your channel for your genuine reactions. You are funny as hell and I'm not mad at you messing stuff up. Thank you for making me laugh!
Awesome reaction!!! Especially 35:27 😆Harry didn’t know what sectumsempra would do; only that it was for enemies. In the book Malfoy is about to hit Harry with the cruciotus curse before Harry uses sectumsempra. Why the movies has Harry stand and do nothing when Dumbledore dies is beyond me. In the books Dumbledore immobilizes Harry while he is under the invisibility cloak so Harry can literally do nothing but watch helplessly as Dumbledore dies.
They also left out the teaching of nonverbal spells in Charms class. Nonverbal spells were big parts of the plot-that’s what Dumbledore used in the book to immobilize (Petrificus Totallus) Harry under the invisibility cloak and Malfoy cast Expelliarmus at the same time. Malfoy had no clue Harry was a silent witness by the wall. The groundwork for this scene was all laid out expertly in the rest of the novel. Instead, they had Hermione doing WANDLESS magic with that Confundus charm… I mean, that’s Auror level magic right there. Nonverbal magic is very hard to transfer to film, so they did wandless magic instead-the words are still evident to the viewer. You see Malfoy and Harry tossing around all those nonverbal spells in their fight, yes, (and in OOTP, when fighting in front of the Arch at the Department of Mysteries, nonverbal attacks, too!) but we can’t hear what they are thinking-which spells they are actually casting. Cinematically it makes sense to do wandless magic. In the lore of the books, it makes zero sense for Hermione to do wandless magic. Nonverbal, yes, wandless… no way.
Hey Billy!! Love your commentary! I'm a HUGE HP fan, like back in the day going to the midnight-releases of movie and book premieres, re-reading and re-watching the books and movies way too many times, and having so so much HP merch and growing up with the series in real-time. But man, I also LOVED making fun of the characters XD So your commentary is pretty perfect to me haha. Keep doin' what you're doin', man. Much love! Once you're done with the series, if you're interested, there's a musical on RUclips called A Very Potter Musical from Team Starkid starring Darren Criss from Glee and they make fun of everything XD It's the best!
“Ho crux” Billy, you never fail to make me laugh. 😂 I did get choked up in the theater when Dumbledore died, but the movie that made me cry the hardest is the very last one when another character dies. I was sobbing my eyes out. Can’t wait to see your reaction to that one.
Oh I'm very curious! (spoilers) There's so many deaths in the last one, which one specifically affected you so much? Sounds like maybe you hadn't read the book and it came as a shock? I wonder which death is the most traumatic from the perspective of someone going in blind. I cried through the entire movie's runtime because I knew what was coming and didn't want to see any of the characters die lol, especially Fred.
I missed the live tonight, but honestly I’m loving the Harry Potter series more and more. I grew up watching it with my mom and grandparents, my grandpa just died this past weekend so watching these videos is giving me a little bit of comfort 💛 thank you for spreading happiness and love billy
Much love and light. It's really hard especially as it sounds as if you were close. Grieve, breathe, and continue to find moments of joy. Again, love and light.
Hermione: "You're my best friend, Harry." Billy: "Are they in LOVE???" No, they're friends. Boys and girls can be friends without it becoming romantic. XD
Some fandoms take things too seriously. I'm a huge Potterhead, I grew up on these books and movies, but I don't really care if someone messes up a name or has not read the books. Most of my friends never read the books, let alone seen the movies. So keep up the good work reacting and making people smile!!! :)
Billy in the next movie there is a cut scene in the beginning with Harry, his aunt, uncle and cousin. As someone who read the book it was important. I don't know how it is viewed as by others who are just enjoying the movie. But I recommend you watch that cut scene. It could it help clear up some things that you would be wondering about.
The final movie also has a similar moment that was cut. It's just a few seconds, but it cleared up so much about a specific character and I hate that it's not in it.
Harry Potter is a huge favorite of mine but no matter what you say I love listening to you. I usually end up with my sides aching because I am laughing so much at them. Keep up the amazing job
My faith that you’ll understand this franchise went out the window when you said you didn’t know what butter beer was 6 movies in lolol always got me dying with wild perditions. Everybody’s a villein and/or related to Harry. Honestly fun to watch someone who genuinely has no idea what’s going on lmao
I think an important part of magic to remember, is that the other people also have magic. You can't just use magic for anything, anyone else could have done something such as magic to prevent your attempt, lay traps to know you tried, even traps to cause harm or death in some circumstances for anyone trying.
Honestly I don’t understand why people get angry so much. I love your reactions it’s so entertaining to see how you react to my favourite films and plus I definitely drink more water when watching your videos. Much love ♥️♥️♥️♥️
I saw this movie at the midnight showing. The amount of crying and the silence was insane. All the other movies people would be leaving all excites but this one broke people. All the people waiting to see the movie, were then scared to go see it
I remember going to the midnight premiere and like you said the silence was insane. you could literally tell who had read the books because you could see them mentally preparing for the scene knowing he was going to die. I know the part that had a lot of people crying when i went was when they put the wand in the air and it gets rid of the dark mark in the sky.
Fun facts: -young Tom riddle in the orphanage is the actor that plays hardin scott in the movie After which you also did commentaries on. -young tom riddle (hero fiennes-tiffin) is the nephew of voldemorts actor (ralph fiennes)
I’m a HUGE potterhead, but I do like watching your commentaries on them. Just forewarning you Deathly Hallows pt 1 is not what a lot of people think it is. There’s action moments, but it’s also a lot slow burn moments as well. I remember going to the book store at midnight when the last two books were released just to get the “special edition” book, so much fun; then reading them and boo-hooing like crazy. My husband (boyfriend at the time) didn’t see or hear from me till I finished with my bloodshot eyes wondering if I needed to be commuted to an asylum lol 😂
I am absolutely obsessed with HP. I love your commentaries, they make me laugh. Just some background, Snape's mothers maiden name was Prince, hence half blood prince. I have read all the books and watched all the movies a dozen times. You get more background and info from the books, but the movies are really good as well. I think your doing great, thank you for doing them all. I'm a fan of yours as well, so keep doing you.
Dumbledore’s death in the book, just hurt my heart. It was the only HP book, I didn’t read more than once. It was such a break in Harry’s support system. (And Billy, to paraphrase The Beatles, we ALL get by with a little help from our friends) Harry’s original protector is gone.
I'm the biggest Harry Potter fan I know and these videos make me laugh every time. I burst into laughter when you held up the Hunger Games sign and it made me laugh even harder when I realised you held it up wrong. The real Harry Potter fans know when to take a joke and love your videos. Ignore everyone else :)
Billy I have been a fan of the HP books and movies for years and I LOVE and ENJOY watching all your reaction videos! Been a fan of yours for months now! Cant wait for the next one! #bingers Mamma Mia
Thank you for continuing this series!!! I can’t imagine how much the fandom is giving you unnecessary hate, but so many people are loving your movie commentaries for HP!!! Keep up the good work 👏
Billy I’m so happy that you’re still doing these. You make me laugh with every video and I’m a lifelong Harry Potter fan (read all the books and grew up with the movies). I love your unique perspective unclouded from nostalgia. Keep up the great work and I appreciate you ❤️
I am a big HP fan, but your reactions are friggin hilarious! Knowing that you aren't familiar with the books makes it even funnier. Also, my husband has never read the books, but has been dragged to every film since HP#3, so he's more of a hostage in that situation. At least you try to follow the story, he never tried at all, so he doesn't know who any of the characters are or the plot of the story.
This movie wrecks me!! I saw it in theaters and this was the first movie I actually cried during. This is by far my favorite movie of the series. The actors that portray Malfoy, Snape and Dumbledore do an incredible job and I'm always in aww watching this one. ( I've seen this one the most of all of them with the first and the fourth following after ) "Sexy gecko.. she's a demon though " had me dead 🤣🤣 Stuff always happens at the very end because they are just teenagers/students that bad things happen too.
Grew up loving Harry Potter & still consider myself of the books. I enjoy all your commentaries, including these. Your personality makes everything 10x more fun. Plus, most of the original HP fans are around your/our age now, so I like to think we can take the jokes 😂
Awesome to see that you keep going, love your HP commentaries, I am a HUGE fan of the series since I was 2/3 years old, when my mom start reading the books for me, and still, I am 100% Heather Gang!!! There is a lot of HP reacts out there, but sometimes I just need a movie commentary from you, great work! (Sorry for my english, even if is better than your portuguese, shout out from Brasil!)
Low key you remind me of the muggle prime mister in this book 😅 “But for heavens sake.. you’re wizards! You can do magic! Surely you can sort out well anything” And to quote the late not so great Scrimgeour “The trouble is, the other side can do magic too”
The problem with the relationships between the three is that Hermione likes Ron but the actress seems to have better chemistry with the guy who plays Harry. At least it seems like that to me.
That and the scriptwriters shipped Harry and Hermione since they did Ron dirty in the movies, they made it clear they preferred Harry and Hermione and even added scenes with them and weren’t in the books and made Ron more in the background. It felt like Harry and Hermione were close and Ron was the third wheel when that definitely wasn’t the case it was Harry and Ron who were close and even tho of course Harry likes Hermione and they’re friends he didn’t enjoy being alone with her
As a long time Harry Potter fan, I love your commentary 🤣 it’s funny watching someone see the movies for the first time. I’d be interested in seeing your reaction to the Fantastic Beasts movies too 😁
There's a line in the books that I wish was in the movie specifically so that Billy could hear it. Prime Minister: “But for heaven’s sake - you’re wizards! You can do magic! Surely you can sort out - well - anything!” Fudge: The trouble is, the other side can do magic too, Prime Minister.” And add that for Harry has been practicing magic for 5 years. Going up against wizards who have been practicing for 30+ years. And the most powerful Dark WIzard who has been practicing 70+ years.
I LOVE Harry Potter and I LOVE your reviews. Not only do they make me laugh I’m reminded to drink more water. Like 3 gallon Billy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 keep the reviews flowing like water.
personal fun fact: this is the first book that actually made me cry. when I got to the part where Dumbledore dies, I can still remember the words becoming blurry from my tears and I had to put the book down so I could go get tissues. at least a few minutes passed before I could continue reading and then the tears came back when Harry confronts Snape. anyway, just a little bit of insight on my connection to this one. I also saw it in the theaters and cried like a baby lol as much of a Potterhead as I am, you still crack me up Billy; keep doing you! ❤️
I'm always here for anything Billy does or says... haha! I love my Fandoms, but sometimes people be too uptight! But the people explaining the plot to you helps you understand the story line better. We have all read the books many times and watched the movies many times so we are at an advantage, but I am here for the raw reaction and jokes!
I started singing the word deception after you said it, then I was like, "where did I get that from?! Oh yea Lion King 2!" 😂 might as well add that in the reaction request bruh
How did we go from Tom Riddle to Lord Voldemort? The lad literally sat there and wrote down all the plausible acronyms for Tom Marvolo Riddle until he got I am Lord Voldemort out of it 😂
I've been a fan of Harry Potter since I was 9 I'm now 27 and I love watching your reactions! They make me laugh and it makes me look at situations differently ❤️ keep rocking Billy!
Billy, you stay blessing us with these commentaries my boy 😂😂. Even tho die hard fans get mad, you keep it one thouou so it’s comedy regardless. And I think the producers of the movies are the only ones that try to push the love triangle. In the books it ain’t like that.
37:59 . . . And other places . . . Billy, it’s called friendship. They are best friends, like brother/sister. They can be close, they can hold hands, they can hug and comfort one another and it doesn’t mean anything more than that.
As a Potterhead that still enjoys these reactions, to all those who don't - you got 2 options: 1. Take these reactions like Billy takes the movies. Which is - not that seriously. We here to have fun. 2. Just watch something else. And Billy dear, you're funny as hell. But you deal a lot heat so you draw a lot of fire. Not criticizing, I'm having fun! But it's the source of your trouble with passionate fandoms. See you next movie!
I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, and I absolutely enjoy your reactions, Billy! I don't' care that you don't love them; you're still funny as hell, and that's what I come here for! Also, I love your attitude. "Imma keep doin me" is a life lesson for us all! ❤ you, Billy!
Billy, I don’t know if it’s mentioned in the comments are not, but the actor who is playing Marcus Belby , the guy who was eating the ice cream, if I’m not mistaken this was his first and last appearance in a movie, due to the fact that he died protecting his little brother from a knife wielding assailant.

I'd say you got the support
i never hated you and I'm like a huge potter fan. i find your reactions hilarious. even if you miss details, that's the point of being a first time viewer. of course everyone misses things or gets things wrong on their first time.
Billy pleaseeeee tell me where you're getting these t-shirts from??? 🥺😁❤❤❤
I'm not a big potterhead but I do like the movies. I like them even more with your commentaries though!

Exactly! Also all the students in this class have the "advanced potion making" book, because this is an advanced potion making class lol
@Myles Riley so what? It was on Draco, Draco was going to curse him. At least Harry stopped that from happening.
@Myles Riley \¥\¥¥¥¥¥
@Myles Riley in the book the fight went a lot faster so he didn't have time to think. Just said the first spell that came to mind. Draco was also about to kill Harry. He was using unforgivable curses
Pretty much Harry had the cheat notes on potion making. Hermione was correct Harry was cheating
Just to clarify: Harry almost killed draco, yes, but he didn't know what that spell actually did before he used it, he read it as a side note in his potions book, it just said "to be used on enemies"... Yeah, it's wrong to use unknown spells
Yeah, that's sad that the movies are not this clear about this.
@@nanalove3819 yeah, if I remember right, it barely was a 2 seconds throwaway shot of the book that showed it... Blink and you miss it
he even thought of trying it on Mclaggen and once tried dangling jinx on Ron
That's a great point! It makes alot of sense. It's like she's trying to catch up and excelling at the same time
While that may be true initially, the prestige of being able to do magic would definitely wear out quickly.
I think it's because she was a good student, she and Harry grew up going to muggle school, but she probably applied herself more in those classes too.
Be nice to Billy, y’all 💖
I had to help fill in some gaps for my bf as well who never read the books. He has now watched the movies countless times. lol
Don’t let people try to make you feel bad about calling characters the wrong name when most people thought Hermione was pronounced Hermie-own. 😂
That was me when I read the books, I feel like such an idiot now, but I was young
Kind of a different story tho. People only read the name and were unfamiliar with the correct pronunciation. In the movies the names are said, but billy then forgets and improvises better names 😂
In French it's pronounced that way
Hermie own is the right french pronounciation though... Calling her Hermani is stupid lol...
In french it is pronounced like that xD
Here's a fun fact for you--the actress who protrays Professor Trelawney, Emma Thompson (the divination professor with big curly hair and glasses) was married to the fraud professor in the 2nd movie (Kenneth Branaugh) until he left her for Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange). This occurred before the movies, but just an interesting tidbit lol.
I also read that Emma Thompson forgave Kenneth Branagh for having an affair with Helena Bonham Carter. And they all get along well now.
Also Trelawny (Thompson) is married to Snape (Rickman) in Love Actually and if you ask me he got what he deserved for hurting her in that movie 😂
ALSO!! The actresses, playing Granger and Trelawney, share the first name of Emma.
I completely agree!
I would love if they rebooted the series for a television series. I think that would be good not just for old fans but newer ones too so they could incorporate more of the books and fill in what the movie either didn't include or changed.
idc loved the movies growing up and read all the books for the first time a couple years ago but i love that he calls her Heather🤣🤣
TV series all the way.... or an animated series.
Hermione is muggle born
@@mayraaguiar3775 yes, that's literally what she said, ffs.
@@mayraaguiar3775 🤦♀️ she said exactly that xd
the way you said you hate the way luna talks but that’s actually the way evanna (the actress) talks in real life is so funny LMAOOOO. great reaction though. 😭
Sad note:
Slughorn's story about the magical fish that Lily gave him and how: when he came downstairs and looked at it one day, it had vanished and so he knew that she was dead, *because a wizard's magic only stops when they do.*
-It's a double one because, up until now, the audience is lead to believe that Slughorn only cared for his Slug Club members to cash in on their fame and get gifts from it. *However, upon learning that Lily died; he was completely devastated, showing that he did care for their well-being.*
+Avery Merrick This made me look at Slughorn in a completely different way.
I’m so happy you’re continuing with HP!! People need to learn to just laugh and have fun with the reactions ❤️
IKR?! That's what I do 😂
People take everything too goddamn seriously deadass
@@Angelaalva24 when I heard people were upset at him calling Hermione “Heather” I was baffled. Like cmon that’s hilarious! Him calling Lavender “Savannah” KILED ME! I was dying laughing. Like just enjoy the comedy 😂
@@Angelaalva24 honestly though, when Billy said Abracadabra I literally face palmed AND laughed 😂😂😂
This is the first time, and hopefully last time, that I laughed at Dumbledore's death simply because of Billy's reaction. Dammit!
Billy calling Bellatrix a sexy gecko demon is honestly the highlight of my week
Neat little thing that might go over your head:
Hermione until now was a genius in potions because Snape taught Potions by writing the recipes on the board.
Well, not that separate *cough*
Literally in the movie, hermione says harry is his best friend. I’m not sure why Billy can’t accept that, as if a male and a female can’t be besties.
The actress who plays Bellatrix is one of my favorite actresses ever! She was also the Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland and the aunt in Dark Shadows
Mrs. Lovet from the film version of Sweeney Todd.
and marla in fight club
She also dresses up and acts JUST like bellatrix for all the kids that come to her house. many will have only known her from the books and not so much the movies... so they think she's REAL. How awesome is that?
“What if it’s a gay love story and Harry and Ron end up together” I’m pretty sure that fan fiction already exists lol
Oh god🤦♂️
I've seen plenty of HarryxDraco ships lol
Yes i love Bellatrix, but hate that she killed Sirus and Dobby, but she's so entraining!
Honestly, I just drank water whenever Billy said “that’s gangsta” 😂😂😂😂😂😂💙
Or “That’s HARD!”
Yes. There should be a pop up icon like VH1 pop up video that tells people to drink their water when he says those phrases.
She's a typical silly hs girl, but still it breaks my heart when i see how she ends up in HP&TDH pt 2😭
@@christi776 I read that she didn’t really have great social skills and her own friend even admitted her relationship with Ron was very unhealthy
him calling Dumbledore “grandpa” changed the whole movie for me😭😭🤣
But of course it's just because Billy thinks everyone's related to Harry in some way XD
@@Emisop Exactly!😭😂😂😂😂😂
Harry and Hermione are 100% just friends. There's going to be moments in the next movie that some people think is romantic between them but they really only care about each other as friends.
They’re siblings born to different families. 💛
That said, I think it was confusing because Rowling herself was conflicted. She said in an interview that putting Ron & Hermione together was fan service to herself; yet also admitted that Harry and Hermione likely would have been a healthier match. I suspect she wanted them both to join the Weasley clan “officially”.
Why do yall keep spoiling stuff for him?
That said, while I really liked book Ron and his relationship with Hermione, based strictly on what we saw on screen, Hermione and Harry had far fewer toxic interactions than Hermione and Ron. (And yes, film Harry was also nicer-for lack of better word-than book Harry. So that is also a contributing factor.)
@@Wild_flower_415 I don’t think Hermione having a clear thing for Ron and Ron having a thing for Hermione is much of a spoiler at this point. 😏
fun fact- all of the students were cast and signed on since the first movie. The producers didn't know which students would become important in later stories, so they just signed ALL of them for multi-movie contracts
yeah except lavender brown bcause she was originally cast in first movies as black actress but when she beacame bigger role they casted white actress :/
@Neea Kolski
I was just about to say the same thing.
“How did we get from Tom to Lord Voldemort?”
Me: *remembering Billy’s freak out at the reveal in CoS*
Dude 😂❤️
The name “Voldemort” comes from the saying “I am Lord Voldemort”, as you saw within the second film. His real name is Tom Marvolo Riddle, so if you switch the letters around, it says “I am Lord Voldemort.”
Yes, the horcruxes is what keeps Voldemort alive, since he keeps multiple parts of his soul within them.
I always liked that Voldemort literally means “flight from death” in French. Extremely clever and apt name for him.
See, this is a perfect comment. Information to help Billy understand without being a dick. 💯💯 Love it.
It's also explained in the second movie, when he spells out his name in front of Harry and rearranges the letters
It's also explained in the second movie, when he spells out his name in front of Harry and rearranges the letters
It's your use of the word 'always' multiple times for me when it comes to Snape. 🤣🤣🤣
It be like that sometimes lol
He'll get it eventually :) (unless he's already finished the series.)
If you love whipping up some unique recipes at home, then this beverage is a must-try for you.
the alcohol is able to be added upon based on what year you're in etc.
Meanwhile, the 'Prince ' came from his mother's last name.
and his direct ancestor is QUEENIE. also a Prince.

“Kissing like two memory cards” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I’m enjoying this movie commentary!! Thanks for all the laughs! My Friday just got better ;)
I did get choked up in the theater when Dumbledore died, but the movie that made me cry the hardest is the very last one when another character dies. I was sobbing my eyes out. Can’t wait to see your reaction to that one.
Oh I'm very curious! (spoilers)
There's so many deaths in the last one, which one specifically affected you so much? Sounds like maybe you hadn't read the book and it came as a shock? I wonder which death is the most traumatic from the perspective of someone going in blind. I cried through the entire movie's runtime because I knew what was coming and didn't want to see any of the characters die lol, especially Fred.
If he doesn't joke and talk through the whole scene...
Is it weird that I love Billy's movies commentary but I refuse to watch anybody else because they don't give me the same positive hype energy😂🥰
Try Mr. Video, he's super sweet and funny! He's starting the HP series too and he cracks me up😁
I missed the live tonight, but honestly I’m loving the Harry Potter series more and more.
Hermione: "You're my best friend, Harry."
Billy: "Are they in LOVE???"
No, they're friends.
I really need Billy to know that they're *not* allowed to do magic outside of school until they're 17 istg 🤣
Confundus can be used for SO many things. it basically can confuse people, can even befuddle existing enchantments and so on.
Fun facts:
-young Tom riddle in the orphanage is the actor that plays hardin scott in the movie After which you also did commentaries on.
-young tom riddle (hero fiennes-tiffin) is the nephew of voldemorts actor (ralph fiennes)
I am a huge Harry Potter fan, I literally have a tattoo from the movies on my leg,but your commentaries are still hilarious Billy!!!
I read the books a hundred times… but thanks to your reactions, you introduced me to Jacob, Heather, Savannah, Maddison and more!
Love that you’re now calling Dumbledore, Harry’s grandfather lol
Hey Billy. I always enjoy you. Thank you for keeping me entertained.
Thank you Towna!
"I am Lord Voldemort" came from the name "Tom Marvolo Riddle", it's on the 2nd film
( I've seen this one the most of all of them with the first and the fourth following after )
"Sexy gecko.. she's a demon though " had me dead 🤣🤣
Stuff always happens at the very end because they are just teenagers/students that bad things happen too.
Low key you remind me of the muggle prime mister in this book 😅
“But for heavens sake.. you’re wizards! You can do magic! Surely you can sort out well anything”
And to quote the late not so great Scrimgeour “The trouble is, the other side can do magic too”
That’s my kinda guy right there!! The Harry Potter fans tryna play me like I’m crazy but it was somebody in the books who agree with me 😂
@@BillyBinges well he only appears in the one chapter in this book and and he was convinced he was crazy 😅
I'm cracking up!!! Not "Imma just give you the Hunger Games Trubute... wee woo wee woo"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The problem with the relationships between the three is that Hermione likes Ron but the actress seems to have better chemistry with the guy who plays Harry. At least it seems like that to me.
No I agree. The chemistry between Harry and Hermoine is amazing
That and the scriptwriters shipped Harry and Hermione since they did Ron dirty in the movies, they made it clear they preferred Harry and Hermione and even added scenes with them and weren’t in the books and made Ron more in the background. It felt like Harry and Hermione were close and Ron was the third wheel when that definitely wasn’t the case it was Harry and Ron who were close and even tho of course Harry likes Hermione and they’re friends he didn’t enjoy being alone with her
Between your commentary and your t-shirts IDK what I love the most. I’m definitely here for both!
Surely you can sort out - well - anything!”
Fudge: The trouble is, the other side can do magic too, Prime Minister.”
And add that for Harry has been practicing magic for 5 years.
I’m crying laughing every time you call Dumbledore “Harry’s Grandpa” or when you call Hermione “Heather” 🤣🤣🤣
Honestly, I just come here for my hydration, thanks for the reminders :)!
(Fr, I do like your reactions lol)
Thank you for deciding to continue with the series even though you received some rude comments before❤️ you’re the best Billy🥰
As a Potterhead that still enjoys these reactions, to all those who don't - you got 2 options:
With great power comes great responsibility - Tommy from rugrats
😂 thank you for watching i whole heartedly agree
