Dangerous & Useless Cube USB Charger

- Another dangerous USB charger. This one is even worse than the previous one. Not only it is dangerous (can cause electric shock or fire), it is also completely useless. It can't supply the 1A current at 5V. At 0.5A the voltage already drops to 2.7V. The separation of primary and secondary side is only 0.5mm on the PCB. The transformer also looks dodgy and the tiny EMI capacitor (connecting primary to secondary) is only rated 1kV. It has no fuse, fusible resistor or inrush resistor. The boards have no apparent separation line, it is just one jungle of tracks, primary and secondary side riddled like a maze. There are two boards connected with a cable containing both primary and secondary side. Components on one board are touching components on the other board. This is definitely an electrocution device.

The "1A"marking is most likely short circuit current.
It's the firework current, once you reach it, you will see some pretty lights haha
It pulls 1Amp to kill the socket
i had this dangerous little cube, it worked okay few weeks or months then one day i just took my phone off it, and i sat down after few minutes i heard a huge bang and sparks, it shortcircuited the mains, and got completely dark plastic partially melted
phone live?
I've the same charger and I'm actually using it
Edit : It burnt last week
Ive also got the same.charger but it were overheating and melting itself
I had that before it killed itself and no longer working
@@matid8453 he said he unplugged the phone and then it exploded. What I think happened is when the phone was unplugged the voltage on the output probably went up a bit too high and caused some resistors or capacitors to burn and that put too much stress on the transformer causing the wires to melt causing short turns on the transformer causing way too much current to be drawn from mains, causing a short circuit. Sort of like a chain/runaway reaction that started with a too high of an output voltage.
It looks like an overgrown sugar cube!
That's how the US apple chargers look
I got one of these when I bought a Geiger counter.
It went bang almost immediately, but it didn't damage anything other than leaving a permanent black imprint in the wall socket. Fun times.
This is public service. Thank you sir, keep up the fantastic work, not only exposes the rubbish they sell us but its also very informative.
I have 3 cables with Shuko plug which can't be used in Czech Republic.Cables are 30 years old.One is 50 years old and works today.
As far as I know, that fake charger is modelled after the Apple USB Power Adapter for the US and any other country that uses the type A and/or B sockets, however, the copycats in China, didn't know what the real European version of that looked like, so they just took the American design (even with the green dot, as those ones were recalled at one point in time) and changed the prongs on their counterfeit power adapters. Later, when Apple added their own logo to the back of their power adapters in that range, the copycats seemed to be afraid to copy that.
did you had a fujifilm charger bc-45w diagram.. were i can input 5v power coming from Power Bank
I work as tester of electrical appliances and this video is something you don't see in training. Thank you for your experience! I see the cube has also the correct CE seal, which stands in stark contrast to the actual safety. I will make sure that wherever I find this little piece of garbage, I will put 500 V through and put a big red DANGER sticker on it.
CE in this case can mean China Export
I have that cube. In the side of usb, the capcitor, resistor, and diode will explode if you use it for a months or days.
And that charger will destroy your phone charging module.
Why 14 thumbs down don't figure, thank you for your upload interesting and informative and your English is very good love your channel keep making your videos always enjoyable.
Some people just enjoy giving bad response sadly... and also for some may not be good enough, because there are no animations... etc.
You may think i am crazy but where can i get the charger? I want its case to put a good circuitry in it because it fits where i leave and it looks very awesome shape in my plug!
Enlighten thanks
You will think i am crazy but does somebody has a link to buy it? I have an idea to upgrade it and would like to try!
Richtig gefährlich das Netzteil, gutes Video :-)

@@sixestla8878 wheres your white flag?
I love the way you say "pile of rubbish" it literally is.
What else can you expect from 1$ charger? :P
@@ACOnetwork it shouldn't even be allowed to be sold tbh
I bought one of those but with US plug. To my eyes, it was obviosly dodgy, so I wanted to use it for a USB fan. One day a friend took it and didnt asked me to use it. He connected his high end phone and that adapter blew up immediately 🤣
There is older 0-class standard (the earthed Schuko is class 1) and this is perhaps possible to connect to the wall socket. The older type of this is not recessed and you can easily put this into it. Contrary to your system, our Live is on the right but is not mandatory. It is a good installation method. In your system the plug can’t be inserted but one way and then it is good to have the Live prescribed and mandatory.
I wouldnt be able to sleep at night without the good 15W fast charger that came with my phone.
I saw a thing which is only 20x10x3mm and converts up to 250V to 5 or 12V. It outputs rough, unregulated voltage which needs some filtering (as far as I can tell), but it's very tiny and in theory can be used in small plug-pack type case to power things.
It's a discontinued product from Rohm.
You might be wondering why I'm bringing that up...
Because that small thing with 4 pins (even without smoothing) outputs WAY better voltage than the charger you disassembled in this video.
Please tell me what to do that create me as like you.

0:43 "The rest of EU except UK" oh boy that aged like milk :D
i once bought one of these.... it melted and almost killed my phone
My room mate once gave me this charger and as soon as I plugged it, I felt MAINS in my fingers !!!! I trashed it immediately !!!
what components should be replaced to make it safely sir...?
Just one.... the entire charger :).
if i try to replace smoothing capacitor, zener diode, place the fuse resistor at input and fill the circuit with epoxy glue, whether it will be more safely?
No. The mains and secondary are too close. No way to make this safe.
You should do a teardown of a ugreen charger. They cost more and people say its good but i havent opened mine
That cubed shaped usb charger is mimicking us Apple charger
That little cube is a pretty common form factor for US chargers, guess they just repurposed that with EU plugs and thought it would work lol
Note: you have forgotten Denmark ( + Danish System) & old Italian sockets ^^

Ah, You are also use the classic Chinese "Export Only" death-adapter , that does not make it much more dangerous when using this horrendous power supply
I was having this cube but it was fake apple with a us plug.one day I plugged it into the socket it made a very loud bang and a black liquid came out
We call the German sockets Schuko sockets over here in Romania. In my opinion the French one is better , you get a more sturdy fit and plugs don't unplug as easily.
The weakness of the french system is the pin. It can break very easily. And Schuko has the two bars to fit more sturdy. I never had any problems with plugs falling out of the sockets. I've got an outlet from the 1960s in one room, even this one don't make any problems.
If you can't even fit it into your socket, it isn't dangerous
Dis is another treasure from CHINE! HAHAHAHA Your jokes are so simple they are super funny!
do same test on apple changers.
Korean sockets are very very similar to German (EU Type F) and they're also compatible, however they will not work correctly with the Chinese "EU" plug. They will cause arcing and excessive heat because the prongs are ever so slightly smaller, causing a bad connection.
The prongs of the Europlug should be 4.0 mm in diameter (the conductive tips only, the insulated shafts should be slightly thinner). The prongs of a type F plug are 4.8 mm in diameter, so the Europlug's prongs are smaller intentionally „by design“. However, they are not exactly parallel to each other but they converge slightly, so that they should make a safe connection with a type F socket anyway.
If the contacts cause heat or arcing when fully inserted into the socket it is probably because the prongs aren't flexible enough (e.g. exactly parallel to each other) or because they are too short or used for appliances that draw more than 2.5 amps (the maximum a Europlug may be used for). The smaller diameter shouldn't be a problem.
Thats the version with 'good' quality version. I have more worse version.
It just blown right after you plug
These could be ment for Indian socket as in Indian socket there is a hole for ground. And ground pin is attached to the plug itself. And when we purchase any charger in India it says European style.
That's a very common design in the US for our Chinese USB charger inputs...
Italy, Denmark, and Ireland are the only EU members that don't use the type E or type F plug. Ireland uses type G, Denmark uses type K, and Italy uses type L.
Malta and Cyprus use also British type plugs.
How to convert chinese amps to real amp:
Divide the value by 10.
That kind of chargers will fit Italian plugs, not that i would use it anyway.
I also got one of these chargers for free when purchasing a USB powered product on ebay, the first thing I did was to tear it apart (not that was so difficult, it came apart simply pulling the pins) and throw it away.
Captions at 2:16 "dead good" lol
bloody hell, thats dodgy.
Použij MOT pro test pevnosti izolace...
Presne... Ale tak na 230V to očividne stačí :D
6:00 "Model No A1265" - that's trying to be an Apple charger! But the quality is far from Apple's standards... and of course you need to look in the transformer, as some transformers have the windings just wrapped over each other with no isolation.
Word of the day: horrific. Looks like a good squeeze would make it go bang.
The charger shown in this video is very dangerous for me.
how to chek amp ?
I like it because it's cheap. Why on earth do we need an earth ground? Safety is over rated. I think it would be ok to get small shock from it. It will clear up my sinuses and blacken my fingers.
Adonis cmj You’re a genius!!! Here I am, spending thousands on my heavy black tattoos, when i could be doing it with a $2 charger from eBay!
Only things made out of metal need ground. Nothing to do with power, for example 2kw vacuum cleaners do not have ground, 1 kw washing mashines do.
Adonis cmj
Idiot! There houses that ate set on fire because cellphone chargers made in china.
We have socket type F
Maybe it can fits into a Italian socket...
Excellent quality product LOL :)
Im sure clive took one apart that looked too similar, also with the crap emi capacitor and lack of pcb isolation.
Ahh you have a "Death adapter" as clive often uses, handy though.
Your diagram looks also like the cheap hdd external psus, but very under rated.
I think the under rating of the circuit saved the tiny silicon switching diode.
Im amazed how close they copy the outside of the charger, shame about the crap inside.
The two/three pin mains plugs are too different from each other, why didnt everyone use your type with a physical earth pin, that looks a much better design.
We are lucky in the uk, we have a 3 pin plug that no one outside the uk wants to use LOL :-D.
Yes, they copy the appearance, not the circuitry.
I also think that our E socket with ground pin is better than the F socket with the two contacts. It is polarised, so it keeps Live and Neutral in the same position. Single-pole switches can then always switch Live for safety.
But seems that EU decided to develop universal plug, instead of unifying the sockets. But anyway, the advantage of both sockets is that you can use small flat plug for low power appliances (up to 2.5A / 500W). In UK, even the smallest appliances have to have a giant plug with dummy plastic pin to open the shutters and a fuse inside. But on the other hand, the UK one seems to be one of the safest ever.
Yes ... & Ward probably did it too
It is polarised? No, it WOULD HAVE BEEN polarised if France decided 70 years ago which way around the pins go. But they didn't, so toss a coin. They have standardised it recently, but the standard will apply to new equipment but will not retroactively apply to all the old wall sockets. And even when a standard exists, with no way to enforce it, what is it worth? I have lived in a newly built house in Germany where all the electrics was INSANE and there was an electrical fire in the wall every few months, and the garage door and the mounting screws of some sockets went live, and you couldn't even sue anybody because the company that built the damn thing had a habit of going out of business and re-establishing itself anew, so what are the odds that the electrician hasn't flipped the wires in an average Czech or especially Polish home? UK is pretty good at enforcing its standards, but then it would pretty much burn down if it didn't, because they have ring house wiring absurdity, where a breaker just won't do anything sensible a lot of the time, which is why every single piece of wire needs to have a fuse in it.
"Polarization" in AC circuits doesn't exist. "Live" and "neutral" mean only potential difference (voltage) between each of them towards to (physical) ground - earth. It doesn't affect the functionality of the connected devices.
ganz gefärliches netzteil
01:51 - One question, why is chinese adapter very dangerous @DiodeGoneWild ❓❓ I have the same one 😁😂🤣
I found his vid on the topic 😀 ruclips.net/video/KZEDNYwgnv0/видео.html
dangerooos
My conclusion for this charger is: very dangerous.
And our plug in the UK is different.
That charger is like the iPhone chargers we use in the United States.
It looks like a us apple charger except with an eu plug instead of us
Cyprus uses UK (Type G) sockets.
And Malta. And Ireland.
It is schuko plug most EU use german standard schuko.
He was just mad because it didn't blow up. Obviously an apple guy.
But, I'd like to see someone do this, and actually tell us ,what would motivate someone to build this, this way, piece by piece compared to the apple charger.
Someone on Reddit told me to throw this thing away. Thanks redditor
So people, when you get some unknown charger, open it if possible and look what is inside, @DiodeGoneWild described in videos everything :D Have a safe charging 😀
One thing. I used and LED ring, that do not use even one AMP, I think it is arround 600mA, I connected my old USB charger, it was working for an hour and a little, after that voltage just dropped to about 2,5V loool, and charger should have been 2A :)
When i see poland in english films, i know that film is good
The charger has Indian type pin arrangement
Very crude design. Totally unsafe to use.
Looks like a US apple charger but with EU pins
Are you from Czech Republic?
UK left from the EU
LOL not yet.
They used the mold for a US Apple charger on that fake charger
Sir this world is get advanced so. This cheat cheap charger is better than norman chargers 😎 in commericial chargers there 0.001mm for each compound so it's better but the fuse is missing 😂
Indian plugs look similar to these chinese or perhaps we don't really have any standards like most of times we don't even use plugs just grab 2 wire and jam em in the holes
That's dodgyyyyyyy.
UK plug is the best.(my home contry has a Socket D and B)
I was having this. This is complete shit.
Ja wirklich nett von india
Ar u kinin miiii???!!

well you can't blame china.. people keep wanting cheap 1$ chargers.. this is what u get for paying low dollars.. On the other hand, paying apple for their 29$ charger is an option to be safer
Rozumíš tomu excelentně, ale nejdřív se nauč výslovnost angličtiny, ok?
