This is very sweet. Chickens are fabulous pets. I loved naming mine. They each have their own personality and will follow you around and talk to you. One of our hens actually crows. We've never had roosters. She just thinks she is the boss . Hope Nubz has a long and happy life
It's not a new thing for my grandma. One of her first flock started doing it when she stopped egg production, right before new chicks were bought to replace them

People told me to destroy her as a hatchling. I just couldn't. She's four years old now and behaves like all the rest of my girls. Her foot beeds more attention than any of the rest, but seeing her being a happy, healthy chicken makes it all worth it. I love my chickens.

My daughter in law rescued three chickens a month ago and the rooster has no toes. They have no idea why. But he is their baby now and he gets along fine. This is adorable. I absolutely adore chickens... 💜💙💚❤️
Frostbite is usually the cause of them not having toes. Apparently they had no where to roost in cold weather, they’re then stuck on the ground and their feet can literally freeze to the ground. Must’ve been very painful for both chickens, but I’m glad they found good humans to care for them! 😉
@@kristineteall368 Thank You! Yes! It was cold with snow here. These poor chickens were abandoned in a vacant area. Her nephew found them wandering . So they rounded them up and brought them home. My son said he gets around fine but they still keep close watch on him. Irritates us people just leave animals like that. They are in a yard with a hutch and heat lamp for night now... 😉
@@tessaducek5601 I often see chickens just dumped on the side of the road, mostly lone roosters, and it breaks my heart how they’ll stay right where they’re left waiting for their owners return… sometimes days! If I didn’t live in an apartment, I’d for sure be picking them up! I do go back and check on them, and post them online if I can so someone can go pick them up. One day, I’d love to be able to have chickens, but for now I’ll just be rescuing and socializing cats! 😂
@@kristineteall368 I use to do cat rescue as well. I actually take in everything. A neighbor abandoned chickens years ago and we took them in. I gave a couple to a friend. People are soulless at times. I give vertual hugs to those who take the time to rescue any critter. My two kittys are rescues. One was hurt by a dog as a kitten. Other then an overbite . He is fine. Thank You for being a kind animal advocate. 🤗

I had a hen that crowed once to! Most all hen flocks will have a rooster like hen who is the leader. Crazy right?
